Ye Qing carried Lin Yashi into a small clinic nearby, rushing anxiously. The people inside the clinic had just witnessed Ye Qing dash to the car and were terrified by his ferocity. When they saw him enter, everyone immediately screamed and ran away.

Ye Qing ignored those people and laid Lin Yashi on the hospital bed, urgently saying, ”Doctor, save her.”

The doctor didn’t dare delay and hurried over to help Lin Yashi stop the bleeding and bandage her wound. Fortunately, Lin Yaqing’s injuries weren’t serious, and there was no danger to her life.

Ye Qing took out his cell phone, hesitated for a moment, but eventually still sent a text message to Zhao Chengshuang, asking him to come and collect the person. Ye Qing knew the Lin family well, and even if he saved Lin Yashi, it was unlikely that the Lin family would let him off. Therefore, he only contacted Zhao Chengshuang.

At that time, Zhao Chengshuang was still in the hospital. Upon receiving Ye Qing’s message, he was overjoyed. The news that Ye Qing had rescued Lin Yashi thrilled him, and he immediately wanted to go back and notify the Lin family. However, Ye Qing’s subsequent words made him reconsider.

Remembering how Lin Yaqing, Lin Fuyuan, and others had insisted that they would never let Ye Qing go, even if he saved Lin Yashi, Zhao Chengshuang ultimately decided against informing the Lin family.

If the Lin family found out where Ye Qing was, they would definitely send people to surround him as soon as possible. Zhao Chengshuang believed that given how ungrateful and treacherous the Lin family was, they were definitely capable of such an act!

Zhao Chengshuang had his subordinates push his wheelchair down the stairs, with Ou Keren following him the whole way. Even when they reached the car downstairs, Ou Keren got in with him.

”Miss Ou, where are you going?” Zhao Chengshuang asked, puzzled.

Ou Keren glanced at him and said, ”To meet Ye Qing.”

”Ah?” Zhao Chengshuang was taken aback, then quickly said, ”Meet Ye Qing? Who told you I was going to see Ye Qing? I’m just going home.”

”Captain Zhao, ever since you arrived here, your expression has been tense, showing your concern for your aunt. However, after you received that phone call, even though you tried hard to suppress it, your face still lit up with excitement. I have enough reason to suspect that your aunt is safe now,” Ou Keren said with a faint smile.

”You also said that the only person who could save your aunt was Ye Qing. In fact, I have no grudge against Ye Qing, so you don’t need to deceive me. I won’t do anything to him.”

Zhao Chengshuang was completely stunned, staring at Ou Keren for a while before he couldn’t help saying, ”You really can deduce!”

”Psychology is a compulsory subject for a qualified criminal investigator,” Ou Keren said. ”In my three years of special training at Scotland Yard, two years were devoted to mastering this subject.”

Zhao Chengshuang gave Ou Keren a thumbs up and said, ”Impressive!”

Ou Keren sighed and said, ”But still, I’ve never been able to understand He Ziqiang’s thinking. So, I would like to ask Mr. Ye, where exactly do I fall short?”

”As for where you fall short...” Zhao Chengshuang looked at Ou Keren and said, ”The only difference is that you’re not as demonic as he is.”

Ou Keren didn’t speak; she didn’t know if ’demonic’ was meant to be complimentary or derogatory.

In the Xiangjiang SWAT Team, she was unrivaled, without any peers. In criminal investigation, she could be considered Xiangjiang’s most outstanding investigator in the past two years. Xiangjiang sent her to chase He Ziqiang, precisely because of her strength.

But after arriving in Shenchuan City and confronting Ye Qing for the first time, she realized her abilities were far inferior to this silent man’s. And what followed, Ye Qing’s handle on He Ziqiang’s whereabouts, shocked her immensely.

Truth be told, it was the first time she encountered someone who surpassed her in these two areas simultaneously, which is why she now had a strong interest in Ye Qing!

In the end, Zhao Chengshuang still took Ou Keren with him to find Ye Qing. As Ou Keren said, she had no grudges against Ye Qing, so she wouldn’t do anything to him. As for the warrant for Ye Qing’s arrest, that was Shenchuan City police’s business, and it was of no concern to her.

By the time Zhao Chengshuang and his team arrived at the small town, Lin Yashi had been bandaged and was now sleeping groggily. Ye Qing sat quietly in the clinic; staying there was quite dangerous, given his current status as a wanted man. But he couldn’t leave because he needed to stay to protect Lin Yashi!

Upon entering the clinic and seeing that his aunt was unharmed, Zhao Chengshuang finally breathed a sigh of relief. He looked at Ye Qing sincerely and said, ”Ye Zi, thank you!”

Ye Qing glanced at Lin Yashi and said, ”She’s a good person.”

The implication was clear; if it were any other member of the Lin family, he definitely wouldn’t have rescued them.

Zhao Chengshuang sighed and said, ”My aunt is probably the kindest person in the Lin family, but why is it that kind people never get a good return?”

Ye Qing didn’t say anything but frowned slightly as he glanced at Ou Keren beside him. Since entering the clinic, Ou Keren’s eyes had never left him. She kept staring at Ye Qing as if trying to find something on him.

Seeing Ye Qing looking over, Ou Keren confidently extended her beautiful jade-like hand and smiled, ”Mr. Ye, we meet again!”

Ye Qing did not shake her hand, but just glanced at Zhao Chengshuang.

”It’s not my fault, she insisted on coming!” Zhao Chengshuang immediately raised his hands and said, ”But she is a Xiangjiang Police officer, she’s only here to pursue He Ziqiang, she won’t interfere with anything else.”

Only then did Ye Qing nod, giving Ou Keren a look and saying, ”When I arrived here, He Ziqiang should have still been around because he had those two men take Lin Yashi away to deliberately divert my attention. However, he must have run away by now. I can’t split myself between saving Lin Yashi and capturing him. If you want to catch him, heading west might give you a chance.”

”Why?” Ou Keren’s eyes lit up, she was eager to know how exactly Ye Qing had tracked He Ziqiang’s movements.

Ye Qing said, ”This town only has some secluded areas to the west, with woods and bushes that make it easy to hide. Moreover, once out of the woods and bushes, there’s a highway. A cunning thief will surely have multiple hideouts; he most likely has a car hidden around that forest to escape at any time.”

Ou Keren nodded, replying, ”Mr. Ye’s analysis is indeed brilliant, but it’s probably too late to chase him now. So much time has passed, and there are six highways intersecting over there, there’s no telling which way he went.”

”Damn it, are we going to let that bastard get away again?” Zhao Chengshuang said angrily, ”Son of a bitch, why doesn’t he go kidnap the two old Undyings, Lin Yaqing and Lin Fuyuan, instead of always bullying my maternal aunt?”

”Because your aunt is valuable,” Ou Keren said indifferently with a smile, ”You also said that your aunt is the kindest person in the Lin family. That means she has good relationships with everyone. If she were kidnapped, everyone in the Lin family would surely want to save her, and they could get a large sum of money for her release.

But if it were Lin Yaqing or Lin Fuyuan, do you think the Lin family would pay a large sum?”

”True,” Zhao Chengshuang nodded and said, ”Those two are sour and mean on a regular day, and there are indeed quite a few people in the family discontent with them. If those two were kidnapped, who knows how many people would be clapping in happiness!”

”Mr. Ye, I want to ask, how exactly did you find He Ziqiang and his people?” Ou Keren asked.

Ye Qing was silent for a moment before saying, ”He Ziqiang is very conceited, thinking himself clever. So, he has a habit of arrogance in his actions. He believes that the most dangerous place is the safest, and the first time he hid Lin Huayu in the most likely place the police would raid, it showed this trait of his.”

Ou Keren nodded. Before coming to Shenchuan City, she had already reviewed the things He Ziqiang had done there. The first time He Ziqiang kidnapped Lin Huayu, he hid her in an abandoned factory, a place that the police had raided twice, marking it as a focus of their search. This showed that he was indeed very conceited, daring to do such a crazy thing.

However, the police of Shenchuan City really did not search there again.

Ou Keren said, ”But the second time he didn’t do that. The place he hid the person was very secretive; didn’t he become less conceited then?”

Ye Qing shook his head and said, ”He is still just as conceited, but he follows a pattern in his actions. After capturing someone, within twenty-four hours, the police will definitely conduct a major search. He must endure the first round of searches, so he picked that secluded place. After those twenty-four hours, he would change the hiding place.”

Considering several cases that He Ziqiang had done in Xiangjiang, Ou Keren recalled that he had the habit of moving hostages frequently. Before, they couldn’t figure out why He Ziqiang frequently moved hostages, but now with Ye Qing’s analysis, she began to understand.

”But how did you determine those three locations?” Ou Keren asked again.

Ye Qing said, ”He used to be a mercenary in the Golden Triangle, and although he’s now turned into a kidnapper, he still retains the habits of a mercenary. Based on their combat habits, finding those three places wasn’t difficult.”

Ou Keren couldn’t help but be astounded; the Xiangjiang Police hadn’t analyzed this.

”What about this time?” Ou Keren looked outside at the small town and said, ”This time he hid the person so conspicuously, it doesn’t fit his usual pattern.”

”No,” Ye Qing shook his head, ”In Shenchuan City, he conducted two operations and hid the person in very secretive places both times. This gave the police the illusion, making them think he would do the same the third time.”

At this point, Ye Qing glanced at Zhao Chengshuang and said, ”If I’m not mistaken, your search area is probably focused on those remote areas, right?”

Zhao Chengshuang nodded embarrassingly and said, ”The city bureau has dispatched two thousand officers to search in the most secluded areas around Shenchuan City.”

Ye Qing said, ”All these actions of yours are within He Ziqiang’s expectations. That’s why he hid the person in this bustling small town, a place you would never guess.”

Ou Keren looked at Ye Qing with even more admiration and couldn’t help asking, ”But, there are so many bustling towns in Shenchuan City, why did you lock on to this one?”
