Urban Martial Saint

Upon seeing Zhao Shilin, Lin Yaqing immediately stepped back in a panic and hid behind her mother. Her face was still swollen from the slaps she received from Zhao Shilin last time.

This old general showed no mercy at all in his actions, and moreover, no one dared to stop him!

”Grandfather, it seems what you said was very true,” Zhao Chengshuang shrugged helplessly and said, ”As for the Lin family, it’s impossible to save them any face. Unless we expose all the disgraceful things they’ve done, they’ll never admit their wrongs!”

”Then don’t save them any face,” Zhao Shilin walked into the room, sat down, and casually pointed to a few people behind him, saying, ”These are friends from the city prosecutor’s office and the military region. It just so happens that they can also act as notaries here. Come, Chengshuang, don’t be polite to them.

We need to teach the Lin family a harsh lesson; otherwise, they’ll never admit their mistakes!”

”Alright!” Zhao Chengshuang picked up the remote and fast-forwarded the disk a bit further.

The footage that followed was quite clear, featuring static images. Upon closer inspection, the first few pictures seemed to be something like ledgers, listing the accounts of Lin Tianhao’s drug trafficking with names, including those of some Lin family elders, and Lin Fuyuan’s name was clearly among them.

The members of the Lin family were stunned, as most of them understood accounts and knew that these ledgers were the most critical evidence. These pieces of evidence were enough to completely expose Lin Tianhao’s drug trafficking!

”You’ve got some nerve!” Lin Zhen Nan gritted his teeth as he looked at Lin Fuyuan and the other Lin family elders, whose faces had turned deathly pale. Drug trafficking was a major crime. Given the amount that Eldest Brother Lin had trafficked, if they were arrested, they would serve at least thirty years and possibly face execution!

”Eldest Brother, I...I didn’t know he was involved in these businesses...” Lin Fuyuan said, trembling.

”Lin Fuyuan, do you still think you can deceive me at this point?” Lin Zhen Nan sighed deeply and said, ”It seems you are truly hopeless!”

”Eldest Brother, I’m not lying to you, you...you have to believe me...” Lin Fuyuan’s face pale with panic, hurriedly ran to Old Lady Lin’s side, grabbed her arm, and begged desperately, ”Mom, Mom, please...please plead with Eldest Brother for me, ask him to help me, I...I don’t want to go to jail...”

Old Lady Lin’s face was grim, and she seemed to be in a state of shock, staring blankly at the television screen with no response whatsoever.

”Get away!” Lin Zhen Nan came over and yanked Lin Fuyuan away, yelling angrily, ”Lin Fuyuan, you too oversaw the family business and your income wasn’t small. I really can’t understand why you would engage in such a vile trade? You...you’ve truly disgraced our Lin family completely!”

Lin Fuyuan fell to the ground and hurriedly got up, attempting to plead again when suddenly, a cry of alarm came from the room. Lin Zhen Nan and the others immediately looked up at the television, but the screen had changed, displaying other photos.

These photos showed people cutting off hands and feet with knives, beating disabled individuals with whips, and chasing after children. Moreover, in every scene, Eldest Brother Lin was always present, suggesting these acts occurred while he was there.

The images vividly depicted the lives of the disabled and children, the bloody scenes shocking to the extent that several girls couldn’t help but vomit. Even the men, upon seeing these images, felt freezing cold, with many shaking in terror.

”What...what on earth is this?” Lin Zhen Nan roared furiously. He knew that Lin Tianhao’s outside activities were not good, but he could never have imagined that Lin Tianhao would commit such heinous deeds.

Looking at the images of disabled people with severed limbs, the helpless, pitiful children, and the bodies piled up after death, and occasionally a small arm or leg sticking out of the pile, Lin Zhen Nan was also beside himself with rage, glaring at Lin Tianhao with teeth clenched.

”Lin Tianhao, you beast!” Old Lady Lin was the first to bellow ’beast’ and lifted her walking stick to strike Lin Tianhao. After two hits, her body swayed and she slowly collapsed to the ground.

Lin Zhen Nan hurried over to help her, asking anxiously, ”Mom, Mom, how are you? Are you alright?”

Old Lady Lin slowly opened her eyes, looking at the inhumane scenes on the television and finally unable to stop herself from shedding tears, she said, ”This is retribution! Retribution! What Zhao Shilin said was right, this is all the retribution of our Lin family. I never imagined that the child I brought up with my own hands would turn out to be a scoundrel, that he would harm so many lives.

I’ve been protecting him, I’ve been complicit in tyranny. Retribution has finally come, retribution has finally arrived!”

Old Lady Lin beat her chest and stamped her feet, crazily hitting her own chest with her hands.

”Mom, don’t do this, don’t do this!” Lin Zhen Nan hurriedly held her, urgently saying, ”You didn’t know what Lin Tianhao was doing outside; we didn’t do it on purpose.”

”After all, it was I who indulged him too much, which led to so many tragedies!” Old Lady Lin wailed loudly, ”But it was I who indulged him, I who shielded him. Why couldn’t the retribution fall on me instead? Why did it have to befall Yashi? Yashi is innocent!”

Hearing these words, everyone in the Lin family was somber. Lin Yashi was the kindest person in the Lin family, treating everyone well, extremely benevolent even to outsiders. Such a person should be blessed by the gods for her compassion and mercy. So why, of all people, was she the one to suffer this retribution?

”Yashi truly is the most innocent,” Zhao Shilin also sighed and said, ”But I think this is what real retribution looks like. Look at those children, those whose limbs have been severed, weren’t they all the most cherished at home? Weren’t they also innocent? Yet Lin Tianhao was responsible for killing and crippling so many. If retribution fell upon Lin Tianhao, it would serve him right.

But that it has fallen upon Lin Yashi, the most beloved in your Lin family, that is true retribution. Retribution is feared because it can cost you what you hold dearest!”

”The old general speaks profound wisdom!” a man beside nodded and said, ”That’s why there’s a saying about accruing virtue for one’s descendants. Commit enough evil deeds and retribution may not land on oneself, but on one’s offspring instead.”

”It’s my fault, all my fault...” Old Lady Lin cried out loud, ”Yashi, I’m sorry, I am to blame for your plight. I was blind to the truth, always covering for Lin Tianhao, shielding him as he committed unspeakable acts. Heaven, if you must punish someone, punish me, don’t hurt Yashi anymore. She is innocent…”

Until this moment, the normally domineering old lady finally seemed deflated, no longer showing her usual authority and bullying demeanor. Now, she finally recognized her mistakes. But it was already too late. Retribution had already befallen Lin Yashi, and in this lifetime, she might never speak again!

”Mom, don’t cry, we didn’t know about any of this, you can’t be blamed!” Lin Yaqing moved to support Old Lady Lin, then turned angrily to Zhao Chengshuang and snapped, ”Zhao Chengshuang, I haven’t even seen the reason for Ye Qing to hold a vendetta against Lin Tianhao. What’s the meaning of displaying these pictures? Do you really want to anger my mom to death?”

”Hmph, I knew it, without making things crystal clear, you’d never accept it!” Zhao Chengshuang smirked coldly and said, ”Lin Yaqing, you want to know why Ye Qing harbors such deep hatred towards Lin Tianhao? Listen carefully!”

Immediately, everyone in the Lin family turned to look at Zhao Chengshuang, with Lin Zhen Nan and Old Lady Lin lifting their heads to look at him as well.

Zhao Chengshuang cleared his throat, glanced around at everyone, and announced, ”Ye Qing’s younger brother, Ye Jun, is also one of these disabled victims!”

Upon this statement, the whole room was shocked. Having heard these words, there was nothing more Zhao Chengshuang needed to say; everyone could understand Ye Qing’s desire to kill Lin Tianhao.

Forget about Ye Qing, even the members of the Lin family, seeing the content in the pictures, were gnashing their teeth in rage, wishing they could kill Lin Tianhao themselves. And now that Ye Qing’s own brother had been maimed by Lin Tianhao, it wouldn’t be surprising if Ye Qing wanted to kill Lin Tianhao.

Given how the Lin family had always favored Lin Tianhao, if Ye Qing wiped out the whole Lin family, no one would dare to say he had gone too far!

Zhao Chengshuang looked coldly at Lin Yaqing and said, ”Lin Yaqing, now you understand why Ye Zi is antagonistic toward your Lin family, and who is really at fault between Ye Zi and Lin Tianhao, don’t you?”

Lin Yaqing, somewhat embarrassed, clenched her teeth and said, ”This… all this is just what you say, how do I know it’s true? Maybe Ye Qing made up a brother, looking for an excuse to cause trouble…”

”Lin Yaqing, you might as well fuck off!” Zhao Chengshuang cursed, ”Bastard, even now, you still talk back.”

Lin Yaqing replied, ”I… what I said is the truth. We don’t know whether Ye Qing has a brother or not. And even if he does, who knows if his brother was harmed by Lin Tianhao…”

”Yaqing, stop making excuses!” Old Lady Lin said weakly, ”Our Lin family has made so many mistakes; we can’t keep making them. If we are in the wrong, we must admit it.”

Lin Yaqing urgently said, ”Mom, I’m speaking the truth. That Ye person is not a good man at all. If you don’t believe me, ask others, see what they think.”

The people of the Lin family immediately turned their heads away, avoiding her gaze.

”The likes of the Lin family, always displaying such character!” Zhao Shilin said with a faint smile, ”Lin Yaqing, keep making excuses and see how many people support you.”

Lin Yaqing opened her mouth as if to speak, but in the end, she stayed silent. Even she didn’t believe her own words, let alone expect anyone else to support her.

”Now, everyone should be clear about the matter between Ye Zi and your Lin family.” Zhao Chengshuang clapped his hands and said, ”I just want to ask, regarding the issue of Ye Zi being wanted, can the Lin family give any sort of explanation?”
