Urban Martial Saint

Zhao Chengshuang led the team and first got He Ziqiang into the car. After cuffing him securely inside, still feeling insecure, they cuffed his hands and feet together and assigned two people, one on either side, to hold him, only then feeling somewhat relieved.

Zhao Chengshuang, while directing, turned to Ou Keren and said with a smile, ”This international thief is too cunning, I won’t be able to rest easy until he’s in prison!”

Ye Qing shook his head, saying, ”Both his hands are broken, no matter how capable he is, can he still escape?”

Ou Keren didn’t speak, looking at He Ziqiang with both arms broken, although she felt somewhat pity. However, she really dared not be careless. Having caught this international thief with difficulty, she preferred to be cruel rather than letting him have any chance to escape.

”Ye, we’ll head back first. Don’t worry, I’ll confront the Lin family immediately when I get back. If they refuse to withdraw the arrest warrant, I’ll go and ask my grandfather to intervene personally!” Zhao Chengshuang patted Ye Qing’s shoulder, adding, ”You don’t have to worry, I’m here!”

Ye Qing shook his head, saying, ”You should first help me retrieve my brother’s remains.”

Compared to his brother, Ye Jun, the arrest warrant meant nothing to Ye Qing. Moreover, he would never let Boss Lin go, and this had decided that coexistence with the Lin family was impossible.

”Oh, take this back with you as well, there should be some important information inside.” Ye Qing handed a CD to Zhao Chengshuang, he hadn’t yet had the chance to see what was on the CD.

”What information?” Zhao Chengshuang took the CD and carefully put it away, saying, ”Ye, don’t despair too much. Maybe your brother isn’t dead, fortune protects the righteous, with all the good you’ve done, heaven will protect him!”

”Ye, you shouldn’t worry too much.” Ou Keren said, ”Captain Zhao is right, fortune protects the righteous, I believe your brother will be fine!”

”Let’s hope so,” Ye Qing sighed and, looking earnestly at Ou Keren, said, ”Miss Ou, thank you!”

Ou Keren smiled slightly, shaking her head, ”I should be the one thanking you.”

Listening from the side, Zhao Chengshuang felt puzzled and said, ”What’s going on with you two, thanking each other back and forth, do you have to be so mushy? Hey, what exactly happened between you two? Miss Ou, why are you wearing Ye’s clothes?”

Ou Keren’s face turned instantly red, and she hurriedly got into the car, using it to cover her embarrassment.

”Ye, what actually happened?” Zhao Chengshuang quietly pointed at Ou Keren, giving Ye Qing a suggestive look, as if asking if Ye had done something to Ou Keren.

At Zhao Chengshuang’s insinuation, Ye Qing could only shake his head helplessly and said, ”You better send the people back first!”

”Right, that’s the priority!” Zhao Chengshuang immediately nodded, adding, ”But, once we’re done with this, you have to slowly spill the beans about the little secret between you two.”

The police got Zhao Chengshuang into the car. As Zhao Chengshuang left, Ou Keren then stuck her head out the window, ”Ye, I’m heading back now, take care of yourself.”

Ye Qing nodded at her. Ou Keren waved at Ye Qing and the car slowly moved away, watching Ye Qing’s figure gradually turn into a speck, yet her eyes turned somewhat red.

This man, now could be said to be at enmity with the entirety of Shenchuan City. Every step he took was filled with crisis, yet he had no choice but to keep moving forward. This time, could he break through the predicament?

”Ye, you definitely won’t have any problems!” Ou Keren whispered quietly, as if encouraging Ye Qing, and also comforting herself.

At the other end of the city, in Yang Shitao’s villa, the man who had always been with him entered the inner room and said softly, ”Eldest Brother, everything is ready, we can go.”

Yang Shitao quietly looked at the photo of his son, Yang Wei, on the table. He seemed to have aged a decade. Outwardly, he was always that shrewd and mean big boss of Shenchuan City. Yet alone, he was still the old man who had lost his child. The deep grief of losing a son aged him very significantly.

”Ah!” Yang Shitao sighed softly, picking up the photo on the table, and whispered, ”If Wei were still here, how wonderful that would be? All this wealth of mine would have been his.”

”Master Wei is already gone, what’s crucial now is to avenge him!” The man said softly, ”Eldest Brother, as long as we have the green hills, we won’t fear running out of firewood. Fire Butterfly has already taken down our stronghold and captured He Ziqiang. If we don’t leave now, even if Fire Butterfly doesn’t find us, the Lin family might take action against us first!”

Yang Shitao, who had collaborated with He Ziqiang, had him captured by the police now, and he would surely implicate Yang Shitao. Although Yang Shitao had some influence in Shenchuan City, he still wasn’t capable enough to openly confront Lin Zhen Nan and could only act in the shadows.

”It seems, after all, that it’s time to leave!” Yang Shitao sighed, slowly standing up and asked, ”How are things arranged here in Shenchuan City?”

The man said, ”Thirty million has already been given to the Lady Boss, and I think, very soon, top-level assassins will flood into Shenchuan City to take Ye Qing’s life!”

”Very good,” Yang Shitao slowly nodded, ”I still say the same thing, kill him, thirty million. Bring him before me, a billion. Whoever can do it, will get the money!”

”With great rewards come brave pioneers. Although Mr. Ye has some skills, there are plenty of capable people in this world. I don’t think he will last many more days.” The man paused, then spoke in a low voice, ”However, that He Ziqiang needs to be dealt with first. If he comes out and testifies against you, boss, I’m afraid we won’t have anywhere to escape.”

Yang Shitao frowned, and said in a deep voice, ”He has already been sent to the police station, how do we deal with him?”

The man said, ”Perhaps, we could tamper with something at the police station.”

”You mean to bribe someone inside the police station?” Yang Shitao shook his head, ”That probably won’t work. He Ziqiang is a serious criminal, who would dare to kill him!”

”To kill him, we might not need to rely on the police!” A cold light flashed in the man’s eyes. ”Eldest Brother, the Lady Boss told me that someone suitable for this task just left her place.”

”How much?” Yang Shitao asked gravely.

The man replied, ”Three million!”

”Give it to her!” Yang Shitao didn’t hesitate because, as long as He Ziqiang was dead, he could safely get away from this mess and stop being hunted by the police over this issue.

Zhao Chengshuang and a few police cars hadn’t yet entered the city area when they were stopped on the road by several police cars. The leading person was Guan Haochen, along with people he brought from the provincial office, who were loudly demanding to take He Ziqiang away.

”Zhao Chengshuang, you are no longer a policeman. What exactly are you trying to do by gathering so many policemen for your private affairs?” Guan Haochen looked at Zhao Chengshuang mockingly, ”Captain Zhao indeed looks powerful. Not being a policeman anymore, yet still able to summon so many policemen to do your personal bidding.

Tsk tsk tsk, at Shenchuan City Police Department, personal favors indeed outweigh the rules!”

Zhao Chengshuang, shaking all over with anger, retorted, ”Guan Haochen, don’t worry about what I’m doing first. I captured He Ziqiang, and you think you can just take him away, no way!”

”Is that so?” Guan Haochen said, ”Zhao Chengshuang, listen well, I’m not here to snatch him, I’m here to negotiate.”

Zhao Chengshuang coldly said, ”There’s nothing between us that needs discussing!”

”Not necessarily,” Guan Haochen sneered, looking at the policemen behind Zhao Chengshuang, ”Captain Zhao, if I remember correctly, these policemen are all supposed to be on duty. Being absent from the station and gathered here during duty hours, doesn’t this count as slacking on the job?”

Zhao Chengshuang’s expression changed, and he said, ”We are on a case!”

Guan Haochen asked, ”On a case? What case? Do you have a transfer order from the station?”

Zhao Chengshuang was suddenly at a loss for words. Recently, when investigating He Ziqiang’s case, the police resources of the city police department had been largely occupied. To deploy people, he first had to get past Guan Haochen. Not wanting Guan Haochen to know, he had privately gathered some familiar teammates to take He Ziqiang back. Meaning, he had no transfer order.

If Guan Haochen wanted to pursue this matter, he had no defense.

”It seems Captain Zhao does not have a transfer order from the station,” Guan Haochen shrugged his shoulders, ”Captain Zhao, you should know what the charge of dereliction of duty is. Moreover, the provincial office is currently strictly regulating the police standards throughout the province, and Shenchuan City is now collaborating with Xiangjiang Police at such a critical time.

So many people leaving their post together, huh!”

”Whatever happens, I’ll take full responsibility!” Zhao Chengshuang said coldly.

”Captain Zhao, you actually don’t have any issue,” Guan Haochen laughed, ”Don’t forget, you are no longer a policeman. You can go wherever you want, no one is in charge of you. However, your colleagues are not the same. At this time, having such a serious instance of dereliction of duty, if this gets reported to the provincial office, guess how many people would lose their jobs?”

The policemen behind Zhao Chengshuang instantly panicked, and Zhao Chengshuang’s face turned extremely pale. Given Guan Haochen’s connections at the provincial office, coupled with this incident, he had the power to dismiss all the policemen loyal to Zhao Chengshuang!

”Guan Haochen, what exactly do you want?” Zhao Chengshuang gritted his teeth and glared angrily at Guan Haochen.

”Captain Zhao, I’m here to help you,” said Guan Haochen with a light smile, ”Captain Zhao, I have a directive from above. If you’re willing, you can let your men help me with my work, my directive can ensure they aren’t neglecting their duty!”

Zhao Chengshuang angrily said, ”To have them help you, wouldn’t that mean the credit for capturing He Ziqiang would fall to you?”

”You can’t put it that way. Your brothers would also have their merits,” Guan Haochen said with a slight smile, ”but unfortunately, Captain Zhao, you probably won’t have any merit. After all, you’re no longer a policeman, even if you take He Ziqiang back, it would at most be a cooperation between the police and the public, there’s no merit in that!”
