Zhao Chengshuang said anxiously, ”The person from the Lin family was killed by the Xikou Fire Butterfly, and everyone from the Lin family can testify. How can you randomly accuse Ye Zi?”

”Sorry, but what I heard is not the same,” Guan Haochen glanced at Zhao Chengshuang and said, ”According to witness testimony, the Fire Butterfly didn’t lay a finger on anyone at the Lin family. Everyone was injured by Ye Qing, and that person was also killed by Ye Qing. This person is extremely vicious and bloody, calling him a one level wanted criminal is not an exaggeration at all.”

”Which fucking witness’s testimony is that!” Zhao Chengshuang furiously said, ”Who’s talking such irresponsible bullshit? This is pure lying.”

Guan Haochen said coldly, ”This is the testimony of all the eyewitnesses from the Lin family, are you saying that the entire Lin family is lying?”

In fact, Guan Haochen was exaggerating. Indeed, some people from the Lin family blamed everything on Ye Qing, but it was not the majority’s testimony. However, no one dared to pin this on the Xikou Fire Butterfly. The saying goes, a person’s reputation is like a tree’s shadow. The Lin family wasn’t afraid of Ye Qing, but they were terrified of the Fire Butterfly!

Consequently, no one dared to say it was the Fire Butterfly’s men who killed someone, yet some people adamantly claimed that Ye Qing was the murderer. The result was predictable. Guan Haochen wanted to deal with Ye Qing and immediately used his influence to escalate Ye Qing to a one level wanted criminal, coming over with his men to shoot to kill.

”Impossible!” Zhao Chengshuang roared, ”Even if they are dishonest, they couldn’t all blatantly lie. Guan Haochen, it must be you who’s tampered with it!”

”You can say whatever you want, but, by colluding with a one level wanted criminal, you are suspected of harboring a felon. Zhao Chengshuang, I’m afraid you need to come back with us for a cooperative investigation,” Guan Haochen smirked coldly and waved his hand, ”Take him back as well.”

Not a single officer from Shenchuan City moved to come over, all acting as if they hadn’t heard a thing. Guan Haochen couldn’t help but rage, turning to the several men from the provincial office and shouting, ”What are you standing around for?”

Only then did those men come over to handcuff Zhao Chengshuang. However, Ou Keren stepped forward to block them, saying, ”It’s just for an investigation, is there a need for handcuffs?”

Guan Haochen’s face was frosty as he said, ”Miss Ou, let me reiterate. This is Huaxia, and we have rules for what we do!”

”I’m sorry,” Ou Keren stepped back and smiled faintly, ”I don’t really understand your rules. However, once this case is closed here, I’ll discuss these rules with the higher-ups to see what they think about them.”

Ou Keren, being the team leader of the four police officers from Xiangjiang, had the authority to speak directly with the provincial high level. Once this case was closed, the provincial office would still send someone to meet her, as this was the first collaboration between two regions. If at that time Ou Keren actually made a complaint against Guan Haochen there, he would truly be in a bind.

After all, most of these so-called rules were made by him!

Guan Haochen glared at Ou Keren, considering himself to have seen countless women and believed himself to have amazing charm.

Ever since he was assigned to Ou Keren, he had been attentively trying to win her over, but to his surprise, not only had he not succeeded in winning her over these past few days, but now, Ou Keren was standing against him, which infuriated him immensely, yet he was helpless. After all, what could he do? Ou Keren was a special policeman from Xiangjiang, not one of his subordinates!

Guan Haochen glared at Ou Keren, but ultimately he didn’t dare to be too presumptuous, and waved his hand, ”Forget it, Captain Zhao was a policeman after all, there’s no need for handcuffs.”

Zhao Chengshuang, being pushed by several men from the provincial office, could only shout in anger, ”Guan Haochen, I warn you. If one hair on Ye Zi’s head is harmed, you won’t leave Shenchuan City!”

”We’ll see about that!” Guan Haochen sneered, ”Zhao, with the little bit of power your family has in Shenchuan City, I really want to see what you can do to me.”

Zhao Chengshuang wanted to retort, but at that moment, a few policemen came running over hurriedly and said, ”Captain Guan, the man has escaped!”

”What!” Guan Haochen’s eyes widened, while Zhao Chengshuang was overjoyed, ”Damn it, I knew it, you bunch of incompetents couldn’t keep Ye Zi!”

The heart of Ou Keren, which had been in suspense, finally relaxed, but then it suddenly skipped a beat: why was she worrying about a man she had met less than two days ago?

”You have over thirty people guarding the back and he still escaped; are you all a bunch of good-for-nothings?” Guan Haochen raged, ”Is this the quality of Shenchuan City police officers? No wonder you can’t even catch a He Ziqiang. Hundreds of you surrounded a small clinic and still let someone escape, what good are you bunch of good-for-nothings for?”

A group of police were scolded until they felt like blood sprayed over their heads, each hanging their heads low. Although they didn’t dare to retort against Guan Haochen’s words, every one of them looked displeased. They were police from Shenchuan City, not Guan Haochen’s subordinates; of course, they were not willing to take his abuse.

Then, one of Guan Haochen’s men from the provincial office came over from the back, saying, ”There’s blood on the ground, it looks like that Ye Qing is already injured. As long as we send people to keep chasing, we’re bound to catch him!”

”What? Ye Zi is injured?” Zhao Chengshuang’s expression changed dramatically.

Ou Keren’s heart also immediately tightened, anxiously watching Guan Haochen and the others.

”What are we waiting for?” Guan Haochen said, overwhelmed with joy, and gestured with his hand, ”Take everyone with you, even if you have to dig three feet into the ground, you must find him for me. Hurry up, stop dawdling, we can’t let him get away!”

”Guan Haochen, what the hell are you doing!” Zhao Chengshuang bellowed with wide eyes.

”Catching a fugitive, what else? Are you thinking of protecting him?” Guan Haochen kicked Zhao Chengshuang’s wheelchair with his foot and said, ”You can’t even walk, and you think you can save him? Maybe try standing up first.”

”Your main task in coming to Shenchuan City was to capture He Ziqiang, what does Ye Zi have to do with it.” Zhao Chengshuang ignored Guan Haochen’s taunts, indignantly said, ”This is an abuse of power already!”

Guan Haochen sneered and said, ”I’ve been entrusted by the Shenchuan City Police Department to capture a fugitive. If you’re not happy with that, go argue with your leaders!”

”You...” Zhao Chengshuang, furious and grinding his teeth, said, ”Guan Haochen, I’ll say it again. If anything happens to Ye Zi, I won’t let you off the hook!”

”Let’s just wait and see,” Guan Haochen replied with a cold smile, not taking Zhao Chengshuang’s threat seriously.

Guan Haochen’s subordinates, along with more than a hundred police officers, went after Ye Qing. Only two people were left beside Guan Haochen, who waved his hand to signal them to pull Zhao Chengshuang into the car.

”Miss Ou, your Xiangjiang Special Police came to Shenchuan City mainly for He Ziqiang. As for other matters, it’d be best if you didn’t get involved,” Guan Haochen said with a light smile looking at Ou Keren, ”Miss Ou, there’s a meeting this afternoon. If there’s nothing else, I’ll take you back to the hotel first.”

Ou Keren frowned but was about to speak when suddenly, someone leaped down from the second floor of the small clinic, pouncing on Guan Haochen and pinning him to the ground.

When he stood up again, Guan Haochen’s neck was pressed against the sharp edge of a broken glass bottle. The bone-chilling sharpness made Guan Haochen immediately spread his hands and yelled at his subordinates who were reaching for their guns to come over, ”Don’t come over!”

Zhao Chengshuang and Ou Keren were thrilled to see the person who jumped down because it was none other than Ye Qing.

But hadn’t Ye Qing run away? Over a hundred people went after him, how could he have turned back?

Ye Qing had a bloodstain on his right arm, which looked like the spot where he’d been shot. However, the injury did not seem to affect his fighting ability. He held Guan Haochen’s neck with one hand and the shattered glass bottle with the other, pressing it against Guan Haochen’s neck, the glass already leaving a bloody mark.

The pain was enough to make Guan Haochen’s skin crawl, and he had no doubt that Ye Qing would really plunge the glass into his flesh.

”Ye Zi, don’t be rash!” Zhao Chengshuang urgently said, ”He’s the son of the vice director of the provincial department. If you kill him, there’s no coming back from that!”

”Ye, let’s talk this out slowly,” Ou Keren also urgently said to Ye Qing, ”Captain Zhao and I can testify for you, don’t get too worked up.”

Ye Qing seemed to ignore their words, simply dragging the glass bottle slowly across Guan Haochen’s neck. The pain almost overwhelmed Guan Haochen, making his whole body go limp with fear.

The more a spoiled rich kid like him, the more fearful of death they usually are because his life was really too good, and he didn’t want to die.

”Mr. Ye, please... don’t be impulsive...” Guan Haochen awkwardly said, ”Whatever you want, just say it. I... if I can do it, I will help you. I...

I will call right now to cancel the warrant for your arrest. Don’t worry, my father is Guan Mingyu of the provincial department, they won’t dare disobey what I say!”

Even at this point, Guan Haochen was still using his father’s name, trying to press Ye Qing with it. But he did not understand that Ye Qing had completely let go. His brother Ye Jun had been burned alive, and he had no intention of living either. He didn’t care about killing a few more people for his brother’s funeral.

Ye Qing ignored him and coldly asked, ”How did you find this place?”

”It’s... The Lin family hired private bodyguards, who tracked Zhao Chengshuang and discovered you. But... he didn’t dare to capture you, so he called us... to catch you...” Guan Haochen awkwardly said, ”Mr. Ye, I know the Lin family is framing you.

Just let me go, and I... I will definitely help you settle this!”

”I don’t need you meddling in my business!” Ye Qing coldly said, ”Guan Haochen, mind your own business. If you dare to touch a hair on my brother’s head, be careful you don’t wake up headless. If you don’t believe me, you can try it!”

Frightened, Guan Haochen shuddered and rapidly waved his hand, ”No, no, I... I’m good friends with Captain Zhao, I... I was just joking around...”

Ye Qing said nothing, just let go of him. Guan Haochen quickly stepped back, but at that moment, his subordinate aimed a gun directly at Ye Qing.
