Urban Martial Saint

The hotel corridor was a scene of panic, with many people running out bare buttocked.

Those who didn’t know what was going on thought there had been an earthquake and were only trying to flee for their lives. But those who knew it was an explosion were even more terrified, pissing themselves in fear, more so than if it had been an earthquake. No one knew if another explosion might occur.

Deng Liyang rushed out with people from the city bureau, and after taking a few steps towards Room Number Seven, all he saw was the door to Room Number Seven lying shattered on the corridor floor. The walls of Room Number Seven had been blasted full of holes, and looking in from the outside, the entire room had been blown to pieces.

The walls were covered in flesh and blood, and several broken corpses lay on the floor, beyond help.

Guan Haochen also ran over, and when he saw the scene, he was completely stunned. It took him a long while before he finally collapsed onto the ground.

There were five bodies inside the room, which meant that the four people he had arranged from the provincial department, along with He Ziqiang, had all been killed in the explosion!

According to the rules, after catching He Ziqiang, Guan Haochen should have sent him back to the city bureau for detention and interrogation. But in order to claim all the credit for himself, Guan Haochen broke the rules and brought him back to the hotel for a surprise interrogation.

Now, with He Ziqiang blown up in the hotel along with the four subordinates, the situation had escalated seriously. Regardless of who killed these people, he couldn’t escape responsibility. Because it was he who had detained He Ziqiang against regulations, and now that they were dead under his watch, he had to take full responsibility!

Guan Haochen felt like dying. He couldn’t have imagined something like this would happen. If he had known someone was going to blow up He Ziqiang, he would have sent him to the city bureau no matter what, not wanting to take the blame for this. But now, there was no way he could escape this blame!

Deng Liyang, stunned by the scene, stood there for a while, then hurriedly picked up his phone to report the incident to the city bureau. Within less than five minutes, three police cars arrived, sirens wailing, surrounding the hotel, and explosives experts arrived at the scene and began examining the situation.

Guan Haochen squatted to one side, lost in despair, watching the city bureau’s staff handle the scene, remaining silent for a long time. He knew that this incident was enough to ruin his future!

This news also reached the ears of the Lin family members in a very short time. Hearing that He Ziqiang had been blown up, the Lin family members cheered, even Boss Lin lying in the hospital bed breathed a sigh of relief. The news of He Ziqiang’s capture had nearly scared him to death. If He Ziqiang had snitched on him, he would have been doomed!

But now, with He Ziqiang being blown up during the interrogation, and the interrogators alongside him, it gave him great relief. With He Ziqiang dead, his secrets wouldn’t be exposed, and he could still rely on the Lin family’s resources!

Lin Fuyuan sat by the bed, frowning slightly, and said, ”It’s strange that He Ziqiang was blown up right after being captured, isn’t it?”

”What’s so strange about it?” Lin Zhen Nan glanced at him and said to Old Lady Lin, ”Let’s not talk about whether this matter is strange or not. He Ziqiang was caught by Ye Qing, which shows that Ye Qing is not on the same side as He Ziqiang. And Yashi was saved by Ye Qing, which is a fact.

Even though there is a conflict between Ye Qing and Tianhao, Ye Qing has also helped our Lin family quite a lot. I think we should ask the city bureau to rescind that warrant!”

Old Lady Lin nodded, just as she was about to speak, Lin Fuyuan interrupted, ”Eldest Brother, can you let me finish speaking first?”

”What else do you have to say?” Lin Zhen Nan asked with a frown.

Lin Fuyuan said, ”Ye Qing saved Yashi twice, and Ke Ren once, that’s true, and I don’t deny it. But there’s a saying that goes well, ’You can know a person’s face, not his heart...’”

Old Lady Lin said, ”Fuyuan, he even captured He Ziqiang, don’t you trust him?”

”Mom, although He Ziqiang was captured by Ye Qing, He Ziqiang is also dead!” Lin Fuyuan said. ”Everyone think about it, He Ziqiang had just been brought to the city, and he died so quickly. The police didn’t get anything out of He Ziqiang before he was killed. Don’t you think there’s something wrong with this? Who killed He Ziqiang, and why was he killed?”

The others looked at each other, Lin Yaqing was the first to say, ”Are you suggesting that someone wanted to silence He Ziqiang?”

”Yes!” Lin Fuyuan nodded and said, ”He Ziqiang must have known some important secret, related to some people’s crucial secrets. That’s why, after he was captured, that person got nervous and had to kill him so quickly!”

”That makes sense!” Lin Yaqing nodded in agreement, and even Lin Zhen Nan fell silent. Lin Fuyuan’s analysis did seem sound.

Seeing that everyone agreed with him, Lin Fuyuan felt secretly pleased and glanced at Lin Zhen Nan before saying, ”Eldest Brother, there is something I’m not sure whether I should mention.”

”You still suspect Ye Qing?” Lin Zhen Nan asked in a heavy voice.

Lin Fuyuan shrugged his shoulders and said, ”Eldest Brother, I know you think Ye Qing is a good person. But this is a major matter that concerns all the Lin family members, and we must consider it carefully. I’ll put it this way, Ye Qing came to our Lin family home this morning and caused a huge commotion, hitting anyone he saw and appearing to want to kill everyone he encountered.

That is to say, it seems like his hatred for our Lin family has reached an extreme point, as if he can’t wait to kill all of us...”

Lin Fuyuan paused, glanced over everyone, and added, ”In this case, why would he still save Yashi?”

As soon as he said this, the whole room fell into a buzz of whispers, with most people starting to doubt Ye Qing because of Lin Fuyuan’s words.

Lin Fuyuan looked pleased with himself and continued, ”Eldest Brother, I know you’ve always been a generous person. But if you hated a family so much that you wanted to kill them all, would you risk your life to save one of their members?”

Lin Zhen Nan furrowed his eyebrows; Lin Fuyuan’s words put him in a position where even he could not argue back. Lin Zhen Nan knew he could not do it, but he believed Ye Qing was different because Ye Qing was a very principled person. He wouldn’t take out his anger regarding Lin Tianhao’s mistakes on Lin Yashi, nor would he forgive Lin Tianhao’s wrongdoings because of Lin Yashi’s kindness!

”There’s definitely something wrong with that Ye!” one of the Lin family members yelled.

”That’s right, he’s only handing over He Ziqiang because our arrest warrant has left him with no place to hide. He wants to gain our trust so that we call off the arrest warrant. And since he’s scared He Ziqiang might reveal his deeds, he quickly killed He Ziqiang to silence him. This man is too sinister!” another shouted out.

”I’ve always felt there’s something wrong with Ye Qing repeatedly saving our family members!” Lin Yaqing said in a deep voice, ”An international thief like He Ziqiang, whom so many police couldn’t catch, how could Ye Qing find him time and again? I don’t believe in such coincidences. Could it be that this Mr. Ye is a Master Strategist, capable of divination?

I’d bet my life, there’s definitely something fishy going on here!”

”Grandma, I think Uncle Yuan is absolutely right,” Lin Tianhao hastily followed up, ”I’ve met this Ye Qing several times; he is not a good person at all. He hasn’t been in Shenchuan City for long, and he has already forcibly taken over the operations of more than a dozen nightclubs, creating enemies with many people in the underworld.

His getting close to our Lin family definitely has some unspoken motives!”

Old Lady Lin was initially swayed by Lin Zhen Nan’s words, but now, hearing Lin Fuyuan’s analysis and seeing the attitude of the other Lin family members, she immediately reverted back to her original stance.

”Zhen Nan, even though He Ziqiang is dead, we must not be careless!” Old Lady Lin said in a stern voice, ”Put some pressure on the city bureau; they must capture that Mr. Ye at all costs. If we let him remain at large, it will always be a huge menace for our Lin family!”

”Mom, relying on the police is useless!” Lin Yaqing glanced at Lin Zhen Nan and suggested, ”Instead of asking Eldest Brother to pressure the police, it’d be better if our own people looked for him. I’ve already contacted several private detectives, and I think they will have news soon!”

”Are private detectives effective?” Lin Fuyuan frowned and asked, ”Mr. Ye is very cunning, and he’s good at fighting; not even the police might be able to catch him!”

”Don’t worry, I’ve hired the best private detectives,” Lin Yaqing confidently stated, ”As long as they find him, Ye Qing won’t be able to escape no matter how good he is at fighting. And, I’ve instructed them, it’s not necessary to bring him back alive; our goal is to rid ourselves of future trouble!”

Lin Fuyuan was delighted, but Lin Zhen Nan’s expression changed dramatically, and he angrily said, ”Yaqing, are you actually arranging a murder?”

Lin Yaqing immediately responded, ”Eldest Brother, how can you say I’m arranging a murder? I’m just paying private detectives to do a job. What they do is none of my business!”

”How dare you quibble!” Lin Zhen Nan bellowed, ”By telling them it’s not necessary to bring him back alive, isn’t that suggesting they can kill? Do you realize that you are committing a crime?”

”I’m doing this for the sake of the family!” Lin Yaqing turned to Old Lady Lin and pleaded urgently, ”Mom, look what happened to Yashi because of them. If there’s a next time, who knows if Yashi could still come back alive. Eldest Brother can be so merciful to outsiders, but why can’t he show a little more protection for our own Lin family members?”

At the mention of Yashi, Old Lady Lin’s face immediately grew cold, she turned to Lin Zhen Nan and said firmly, ”You need not say more; Yaqing is right. For this matter, we must take extreme measures!”

”Mom!” Lin Zhen Nan said urgently, ”But if we wrong Ye Qing and he loses his life because of it, then... then won’t we have made a grave mistake? This... this could bring retribution!”

”Hmph, I, Lin Fuyuan, would stake my own head on it; we definitely haven’t wronged Ye Qing!” Lin Fuyuan declared arrogantly.

”Is that so?” Just then, a cold voice suddenly came from the doorway.

Everyone in the room turned to look, and there stood Zhao Chengshuang and Ou Keren at the threshold of the hospital room. Zhao Chengshuang was holding a CD, being pushed into the room by Ou Keren, and his eyes never left Lin Tianhao!
