Urban Martial Saint

(Five more chapters to be updated this afternoon, looking for Monthly passes.)

That afternoon, after settling the children, Ye Qing left the house in light attire to search for that Fatty Dog.

Since Boss Lin was ambushed last time, he hadn’t dared to go out these days. All business outside was handed over to Fatty Dog. It was apparent that Fatty Dog had become one of Boss Lin’s most valued subordinates now.

Fatty Dog was a man in his thirties, slightly overweight, weighing probably a little over one hundred and sixty pounds. He usually had six or seven subordinates with him as Shenchuan City had not been very peaceful recently, and he feared that he might be ambushed just like Boss Lin.

However, his six or seven subordinates didn’t prove to be very useful, at least not to Ye Qing, who followed him all afternoon without being detected.

That evening, Fatty Dog first made rounds in several of Boss Lin’s places, took care of the situation there, then at around eleven o’clock, he quietly left the place with three underlings, driving away in a black SUV.

Ye Qing continued to follow them. As their vehicle started, Ye Qing snuck up to the car’s side and hid underneath it, following them all the way. The SUV had a high chassis and there was a four to five centimeter gap between Ye Qing and the ground.

The vehicle circled around the city a few times, showing that Fatty Dog was quite cautious. But he would have never guessed that Ye Qing was hiding underneath the car, rather than driving to follow them.

Confirming that no one was following, the vehicle then left Shenchuan City. At the city exit, they were stopped at a police checkpoint. However, the police only checked inside the car and the trunk, and no one thought to look underneath the car, so no one discovered Ye Qing.

After passing through the checkpoint, the vehicle sped up towards an abandoned factory area in the West Suburb. It circled around the factory area and turned into one of the spacious warehouses, where Ye Qing could see from a distance two other vehicles parked, an SUV and a truck.

The car ahead flashed its headlights twice, and the Fatty Dog’s vehicle immediately responded with three flashes. It must have been the signal. After matching signals, Fatty Dog’s car drove up not far from the other two, and Fatty Dog and his men got out of the car.

Ye Qing was hiding under the car, his palms sweating, and he was extremely excited. But he dared not make any rash moves. Without seeing his brother Ye Jun, he feared that any slight mishap might occur.

”How’s it?” Fatty Dog asked.

A man replied, ”Not bad, we hauled back half a truckload. But we had to pay twenty percent more in bribes on the road, this route’s getting tough to navigate!”

”Don’t worry, Boss Lin will reimburse you for the money!” Fatty Dog walked over to one of the vehicles, opened the door, and took out a package of black substances. He scratched a bit out with his fingernail, sniffed it at the tip of his nose, nodded in satisfaction, and said, ”The stuff is good, no problems.”

”I’ve taken care of the thing you asked me to do as well,” the man nodded, saying, ”What’s Boss thinking, leaving only these few people?”

Fatty Dog didn’t answer and instead walked over to the other truck, opened the rear compartment door to take a look, then suddenly took out a lighter from his person, lit it, and threw it inside. The moment the lighter was tossed in, flames burst into the sky and the truck instantly caught fire, turning into a massive fireball.

Ye Qing, who was hiding under the car, couldn’t see clearly what was happening outside. However, feeling the scorching heat, he instinctively sensed something was wrong. He crawled out from under the car and saw the truck ablaze at the bottom, faintly hearing the screams of people inside, along with the smell of scorched flesh and skin!

Ye Qing’s face paled, and he didn’t need to guess to know who was inside the truck. He stood staring blankly at the flaming truck, completely frozen as if he had forgotten what he was doing.

Fatty Dog and the others were startled to suddenly see Ye Qing, and for a good while, they didn’t dare to move. However, seeing that Ye Qing wasn’t looking at them, Fatty Dog immediately tiptoed towards the car, trying to flee the scene.

He had just opened the car door when a cold voice suddenly rang out, ”Freeze!”

Fatty Dog’s heart skipped a beat, and he dove into the car. However, as soon as he seated himself behind the wheel, a hand smashed through the window, grabbed his neck, and forcefully yanked him out through the opening. The windows were covered in shards of glass, and Fatty Dog, not being slim, was dragged out, his body covered in cuts, blood streaming, painfully screaming.

The others turned to run, but Ye Qing caught up with a few, pulling them back. The man who had made the deal with Fatty Dog was a bit quicker witted; taking advantage of the moment Ye Qing went after the others, he ran back to his car and hastily drove away.

Ye Qing didn’t chase after him but dragged Fatty Dog and his men in front of the burning truck. Looking at the truck reduced to a mere frame, Ye Qing’s eyes turned red, and tears silently flowed.

Fatty Dog and his men were shaking in fear, knowing Ye Qing’s ferocity and realizing that their chances of survival tonight were slim.

”Why did you do this!” Finally, Ye Qing spoke up.

Fatty Dog was shaking and stammered, ”It... it was Eldest Brother’s orders...”

”Boss Lin?” Ye Qing clenched his teeth and coldly glared at Fatty Dog, saying, ”Why would he do this?”

”I... I don’t know, I just heard him say...” Fatty Dog’s voice trembled: ”He... he suspects you came to find your brother, and your brother is very likely... likely to be among these people, so... so he told me to kill these people, to make... make sure you could never find your brother...

Eldest Brother said, you... you ruined his business, so he... he would kill your brother...”

Ye Qing’s eyes were bloodshot as he glared at Fatty Dog and roared, ”So you killed these people? Do you realize that these are all human lives?”

Fatty Dog was nearly wetting himself with fear as he hurriedly said, ”Eldest Brother, I... I didn’t want to do it either, it was... it was Boss Lin who ordered me to do it. If I hadn’t done it, he... he definitely wouldn’t have let me off...”

”He wouldn’t have let you off?” Ye Qing suddenly laughed uproariously, asking, ”Do you think, after doing this, I will let you off?”

Fatty Dog was at a loss for words, staring at Ye Qing in fear, with a bad premonition washing over him.

Ye Qing grabbed Fatty Dog by the neck, and coldly said, ”I didn’t want to kill anyone, but you, you deserve to die!”

After saying that, Ye Qing threw Fatty Dog toward that truck. Fatty Dog couldn’t struggle at all and was hurled by Ye Qing into the sea of fire, instantly becoming a fireball, screaming as he rolled on the ground, but ultimately he was burned to death.

The rest were petrified, with some even soiling themselves in terror. Being burned alive was almost the most painful way to die, and they were all afraid that Ye Qing would throw them into the sea of fire too.

Ye Qing didn’t throw them into the sea of fire, instead, he just stood dumbly in front of the truck, until the fire on the truck had completely died down. He didn’t move an inch, as if he had turned to stone.

Who knows how long it was, until dawn began to break, when Ye Qing finally moved. He walked to the charred truck, looking at the dozen or so skeletons inside, with an exceptionally determined expression on his face.

”Xiao Jun, just wait, I’m going to avenge you!”

Having said that, Ye Qing turned sharply, walking over to the few men who had already fallen asleep. Without a word, he let his fists and feet fly, crippling all of them. Some were woken up by the pain in their sleep, only to find they had become disabled upon awakening.

Ye Qing went to Fatty Dog’s vehicle, drove straight to the downtown area. Along the way, he encountered police checkpoints but didn’t slow down one bit, barreling straight through. Fortunately, the police were mainly searching vehicles exiting the city; otherwise, he would have surely attracted a hot pursuit.

Ye Qing drove directly to the Lin family’s residence, where the main gate was tightly locked. Ye Qing didn’t bother to knock but instead drove straight through, smashing the Lin family’s gate to smithereens. Of course, the front of the vehicle was nearly flattened, dented deeply.

”What’s going on? What happened?” Two security guards shouted as they rushed out, startled by the scene outside.

Ye Qing got out of the car and, without a word, charged toward the distant attic.

”What are you doing?” One security guard tried to stop him, reaching out to grab Ye Qing’s shoulder. Ye Qing didn’t hesitate to punch him in the face, and the security guard immediately fell to the ground, unable to stop Ye Qing any longer.

If it had been before, Ye Qing certainly wouldn’t have laid a hand on these people. But now, all he had in his mind was a single thought of killing, nothing else. At this moment, he could be said to be filled with murderous intent, ready to slay gods or Buddhas that stood in his way!

The other security guard was too scared to move forward, and seeing Ye Qing approaching the distant attic, he hastily grabbed the walkie-talkie and shouted, ”Someone has broken in, stop him quickly!”

After the last incident, the Lin family had hired many security guards to watch over the courtyard. As the message from the guard got relayed, immediately a dozen security guards burst out from beside the attic, watching Ye Qing as he approached.

”Who’s so ignorant early in the morning, coming to our Lin family looking for trouble!” A voice came from the second floor, the speaker was none other than Lin Fuyuan’s son, Lin Tianyun.

Seeing Ye Qing below, Lin Tianyun’s face changed, and then he erupted in rage, cursing, ”Motherfucker, Ye Qing, you bastard, you haven’t left Shenchuan City?”

Ye Qing didn’t speak and continued straight toward the attic. Lin Tianyun was gesturing furiously from the upstairs, shouting, ”Stop him, if he dares take half a step into the attic, beat him to death!”

When Ye Qing was still about fifteen meters away from the attic, those security guards had already blocked him. The leader said in a deep voice, ”Stop, if you take another step forward, we will not be polite!”

Ye Qing seemed not to hear his words and took a step directly forward. The guard was furious and swung at Ye Qing. But Ye Qing was faster, landing a punch to his face. The guard immediately squatted down, clutching his face.

”Beat him!” someone shouted, and a dozen security guards swarmed in immediately.

”Come on!” Ye Qing yelled, catching a punch that swung his way, twisted powerfully, and the man’s arm was immediately dislocated, screaming as he retreated.

Ye Qing didn’t dodge the blows from these people, taking two punches and a kick as if he didn’t feel the pain. Instead, he used the opportunity to break the arms of two men and the right leg of another. Within a single exchange, four men were downed by him, leaving the remaining seven or eight security guards utterly stunned.
