Urban Martial Saint

The Lin family members were pacing around in desperation, even Lin Zhen Nan could no longer remain calm at this moment. He knew the efficiency of the police force; the three days that Guan Haochen mentioned was, in fact, just a boast. Even if they had three years, they might not be able to rescue Lin Yashi.

”Why does it need to take so long!” Lin Yaqing angrily exclaimed, ”Three days? In three days, can my sister still be alive when you bring her back? Are all you police just incompetent? Shenchuan City isn’t that big; does it really take this long to rescue someone?”

”Please watch your language!” Guan Haochen’s face turned cold as he said, ”We are dealing with international ruthless bandits, extremely cunning criminals, not some ordinary thugs. Capturing them isn’t so easy. Moreover, we police can only promise to solve the case as soon as possible, but whether we can solve it or not doesn’t hinge on our desires.

If you keep speaking like this, I will sue you for insulting law enforcement officers!”

”What great authority you have!” Lin Yaqing’s face grew cold as he retorted, ”Sue me? Hmph, do you really think you’re so important? Just try suing me, I want to see what you can do to me!”

Guan Haochen gave a cold smile and said, ”Don’t think just because you’re a member of the Lin family you can act arrogantly and overbearingly. Let me tell you, you might throw your weight around in front of others, but it won’t work with me.”

Lin Yaqing grew even more furious, and immediately started arguing with Guan Haochen. Both were used to bullying others because of their family backgrounds, so naturally, they couldn’t agree on anything.

Old Lady Lin was beside them, her hands and feet cold with worry, as she muttered repeatedly, ”What can we do? What can we do?”

Zhao Chengshuang watched her and gave a cold laugh, saying, ”This isn’t so hard to handle. There’s definitely a way to save your cousin aunty.”

”What can you do?” Old Lady Lin quickly turned to him, now ignoring the disagreement between the Lin family and the Zhao family.

Zhao Chengshuang said coldly, ”There are ways, I’m just afraid you might not want to use them.”

”How could that be?” Old Lady Lin said hastily, ”Zhao Chengshuang, this matter concerns your cousin aunty’s safety. She has always treated you well, just tell us how to save her!”

Lin Zhen Nan glanced at Zhao Chengshuang and slightly furrowed his brows as he said, ”Are you thinking of asking Ye Qing for help?”

As soon as these words were spoken, Old Lady Lin’s expression changed dramatically. Last time, Ye Qing had managed to rescue Lin Yashi in less than twelve hours, indeed proving his capabilities. At this moment, seeking Ye Qing’s help for a rescue would probably the most reliable option.

However, the current situation was different. If it were just about any other method, even seeking help from the Zhao family, she would be willing to swallow her pride and make the attempt. But asking Ye Qing was a different concept altogether.

Not to mention whether Ye Qing was connected to He Ziqiang, just the enmity between Ye Qing and the Lin family alone made it impossible for her to ask for Ye Qing’s help.

If Ye Qing managed to rescue Lin Yashi but demanded that they hand over Boss Lin in return, she didn’t know how she would have chosen, What’s more, with all that had happened today, the Lin family and Ye Qing had completely fallen out. At this point, seeking Ye Qing’s help would surely be futile.

”If it weren’t for my cousin aunty’s kindness towards me, I wouldn’t have bothered with this matter at all!” Zhao Chengshuang said coldly, ”You Lin family ingrates, it would be best if you all dropped dead.”

”Who asked you to seek help from someone surnamed Ye!” Lin Yaqing angrily said as she supported Old Lady Lin, ”Our Lin family’s matters, we would rather die than accept that surnamed Ye’s help. And you, get out immediately; we don’t need your Zhao family here pretending to offer help.”

”That surnamed Ye isn’t any good either; he’s just in league with that He Ziqiang. What’s the use of asking him for help?” Lin Fuyuan also angrily said next to them, ”Zhao Chengshuang, you tell that surnamed Ye— if my sister loses even a single hair, I won’t let him off!”

Zhao Chengshuang, furious, exclaimed, ”Whether he helps or not is another matter; the two of you act as if he must help you. You two sure are capable, preferring to die rather than accept help. But it’s not the two of you dying, so of course, you’re not worried at all. You keep saying ’my sister this, my sister that,’ have you ever thought about your cousin aunty?

If it weren’t for your continuous conflict with Ye Zi, he would have rescued her long ago last time, and cousin aunty wouldn’t have ended up like that. It’s the same this time, you’re obstructing Ye Zi from rescuing her, are you two deliberately trying to doom your cousin aunty?”

As these words were spoken, Lin Yaqing and Lin Fuyuan’s expressions changed dramatically, Lin Fuyuan roared angrily, ”Zhao Chengshuang, don’t slander us. Yashi is my sister; of course, I wouldn’t want her to be harmed. But that man surnamed Ye is truly no good. I’m just telling the truth!”

Lin Yaqing, shaking Old Lady Lin’s arm, said, ”Mom, we can’t compromise with that surnamed Ye. He might be plotting something!”

Old Lady Lin’s face was full of anxiety; she too didn’t want to seek help from Ye Qing. However, she was very aware that if there was anyone in Shenchuan City who could rescue Lin Yashi in the shortest time, it would be none other than Ye Qing. But since the Lin family had completely fallen out with Ye Qing, how could she ask Ye Qing for help?

Seeing Old Lady Lin hesitant, Lin Zhen Nan knew what she was thinking about. Lin Zhen Nan sighed. In fact, the Lin family used to have a good relationship with Ye Qing. The situation had deteriorated entirely because of the Lin family members’ prejudices against Ye Qing. Yet, at this moment, they had no choice but to seek Ye Qing’s help, which was the most embarrassing thing for the Lin family.

”Cheng Shuang, could you contact Ye Qing and ask him to help rescue your aunt by marriage?” Lin Zhen Nan whispered, ”If he can bring Yashi back, we could wipe the slate clean of the past!”

”Eldest Brother, you say to wipe the slate clean just like that?” Lin Yaqing immediately glared and said, ”No, that Ye Qing injured so many of our family members, we must settle this account with him!”

Lin Fuyuan said coldly, ”Hmph, I knew you were siding with this Ye Qing. Now it seems I was right, ready to wipe the slate clean with just a word. Big Brother, Ye Qing didn’t hurt you or Hua Yu, so of course, you don’t care. But, are we not members of the Lin family too? Big Brother, I don’t accept the way you handle things!”

Lin Zhen Nan ignored the two, just looking at Zhao Chengshuang, ”Cheng Shuang, even if it’s just for your aunt by marriage. No matter what faults our Lin family has, your aunt by marriage is innocent, right? She’s not to blame!”

”Forget it!” Zhao Chengshuang sighed, ”If it weren’t for my aunt by marriage being kind to me usually, I wouldn’t want to bother with this at all. If it were someone else that was taken, I wouldn’t even come to look. But, it’s about my aunt by marriage, I must intervene. I’ll try contacting Ye Zi, but I don’t know if I can reach him, don’t get your hopes too high.”

Lin Yaqing said angrily, ”Zhao Chengshuang, don’t be too arrogant. What do you mean if it were someone else, you wouldn’t even look? Don’t think our Lin family can’t survive without you. This matter, I will handle it myself…”

”Shut up!” Old Lady Lin suddenly shouted angrily, startling Lin Yaqing, who stared blankly at her mother, not knowing why she suddenly erupted.

Zhao Chengshuang glanced at Old Lady Lin, knowing that this stubborn old lady really wanted to grasp this last straw by having him contact Ye Qing to rescue Lin Yashi. However, she couldn’t bring herself to say it, as she represented the whole Lin family.

”If you can, go find your aunt by marriage yourself!” Zhao Chengshuang glared at Lin Yaqing, ”If you can’t, then just shut up and wait here. In the time you waste babbling, I might have already contacted Ye Zi!”

Lin Yaqing’s face was filled with anger, but he didn’t dare to really anger Old Lady Lin, so he could only glare sullenly at Zhao Chengshuang.

Zhao Chengshuang also ignored the Lin family members, wheeling himself out of the hospital room to make a phone call.

Watching Zhao Chengshuang leave, Lin Fuyuan immediately turned to Lin Zhen Nan, and said solemnly, ”Big Brother, what are you saying? What does it mean our Lin family has faults. So, you think this incident is actually our Lin family’s fault? Ye Qing came to our Lin family, hurt so many of our people, and it’s witnessed by everyone, could this also be our fault?”

Lin Zhen Nan said coldly, ”You all know very well what kind of person Tianhao is. I don’t want to say anything more about this matter. Right now, rescuing Yashi is the most crucial thing, other matters, we discuss later!”

”Hmph, so you say discuss later, or is there nothing left to discuss?” Lin Fuyuan said coldly, ”I don’t want to say anything either, but this matter with Ye Qing, I must pursue it to the end. He came to our Lin family, hurt so many people, and then rescues Yashi, are we supposed to immediately change our attitude and be grateful to him?

Who knows if he’s in cahoots with He Ziqiang, deliberately staging this whole scene for us to see, so we help him get that warrant canceled!”

Lin Yaqing couldn’t help but say, ”Second Brother is right, each matter is separate. The incident of Ye Qing causing trouble at our Lin family must be pursued to the end. Even if he rescues Yashi, we can’t just let him off so easily!”

Lin Zhen Nan had no desire to heed these two, turning and walking out of the hospital room, his mood gloomier as he saw Zhao Chengshuang making a phone call in the distance.

”Mom, just look at how Big Brother is handling things!” Lin Yaqing immediately shook Old Lady Lin’s arm, ”Can we just let the matter with Ye Qing go like this? If it’s so easily settled, how can our Lin family stand in Shenchuan City after this?”

Lin Fuyuan sighed, ”I think Big Brother is simply favoring that Ye Qing, and I don’t know what nonsense Ye Qing has filled his head with. Mom, Big Brother is really making a big mistake in this matter!”

Lin Yaqing pleaded urgently, ”Mom, please manage Big Brother, we can’t let him make another mistake!”

Old Lady Lin sighed deeply, glaring at Lin Yaqing and Lin Fuyuan, ”Our Lin family in Shenchuan City is also considered a prominent family, I have always taught you to be united. But, I never expected that you never took my words to heart. At this time, you are not thinking about how to rescue Yashi first but constantly debating about who is right and who is wrong.

You two have really disappointed me greatly.”

Lin Yaqing and Lin Fuyuan’s expressions changed simultaneously, as it was the first time Old Lady Lin had openly criticized them.
