Urban Martial Saint

Li Chengxing was carried to Li Wenyuan by his subordinates, looking utterly defeated, and that’s when Li Wenyuan learned about the things Li Chengxing had done.

Looking at his nephew in such a state, Li Wenyuan was both furious and resentful. His brother had died early, leaving only this child in his care. As he had no sons of his own, he had long since treated Li Chengxing like his own son and was prepared to leave him everything regarding Fu Bang.

Li Chengxing had never suffered such a loss before, with Li Wenyuan having his back, he could do whatever he wanted in Shenchuan City. Beaten to the brink of death this time, he immediately burst into tears upon seeing his Uncle Li Wenyuan.

”Uncle, you must avenge me...” Li Chengxing sobbed desperately, ”That Ye Qing, he didn’t take our Fu Bang seriously at all. I... I didn’t do anything, and he beat me to this state. If we don’t take revenge for this, how can our Fu Bang continue to exist in Shenchuan City in the future?”

”Shut up!” Li Wenyuan yelled angrily. If it were anyone else in Fu Bang, he would have killed them personally already. But it was Li Chengxing who did this, and he felt both hatred and rage. He was incensed by Li Chengxing’s incompetence and enraged by the severity of Ye Qing’s actions.

Li Chengxing had never seen his uncle treat him with such an attitude, and was so stunned that he didn’t dare to say anything else.

Li Wenyuan stood by the window, grinding his teeth in silence for a long while before slamming his fist onto the table and angrily declared, ”Mr. Ye, you’re ruthless. If I don’t get this debt settled, my name isn’t Li Wenyuan!”

Hearing this, Li Chengxing lit up with joy and exclaimed urgently, ”Right, Uncle, we have a large number of people in Fu Bang. Call all the brothers, and with their spittle alone, we could drown him. Uncle, let me lead the team. Just give me three hundred brothers, and even if that Ye has the strength of a mythological being, he won’t live!”

”Are you fucking trying to get yourself killed?” Li Wenyuan glared at him and said, ”You’ve never used your brain in your life. What are you going to do taking three hundred brothers? Go get yourselves killed? Do you know what era we are living in? Taking three hundred people through the streets, do you really want to drag Fu Bang down with you?”

Li Chengxing felt wronged and said in a low voice, ”But... but what about that? Even so, can Ye Qing really beat more than three hundred of us?”

”Bullshit!” Li Wenyuan cursed, infuriated, ”Ye Qing might not beat us, but what about the police? You take three hundred people parading through the streets, do you think the police are vegetarians?”

Li Chengxing scratched his head and said, ”With your status and connections in Shenchuan City, Uncle, the police shouldn’t... shouldn’t interfere with this matter, right? In the past, we’ve often taken out a lot of people for jobs, and it’s never been a problem, right?”

”Times have changed!” Li Wenyuan shook his head and said, ”Nowadays, everything promotes the rule of law, and if you cross the law, you’re courting death. It’s fine if you fight with three or forty people, but if you gather a hundred people to fight, that becomes a major incident. Besides, now that Ye Qing is protected by the Zhao and Lin families, my connections can’t suppress them anymore.

Using so many people at once would just give others leverage and would cause trouble for Fu Bang too!”

”So what do we do?” Li Chengxing asked urgently, ”Ye Qing and that guy called Black Bear with him are both good fighters, sending twenty or thirty people over, I reckon, would not even be enough for them to beat.”

Li Wenyuan bowed his head and was silent for a while before speaking gravely, ”If the Flying Tigers could return, they should have no problem dealing with someone like Ye Qing.”

Li Chengxing said, ”The Flying Tigers went to Tai Island for a job; they probably won’t be back so soon. If we wait for them, Ye Qing will have gained a strong foothold in Shenchuan City, and then he won’t be easy to handle.”

Li Wenyuan slowly nodded, his mind also weighed down by this issue. The Lin family and the Zhao family were fully supporting Ye Qing, and now Ye Qing owned eleven establishments under his name. Just by gathering a group of people and opening up these places, income would flow in continuously.

Given time, with money and the reputation Ye Qing has gained in Shenchuan City of late, he would surely attract many people to his side. It’s highly possible that within three months, Ye Qing could become a local boss like Li Lianshan. Then, it would be truly difficult for Fu Bang to deal with Ye Qing!

”The Lin and Zhao families are watching, even if we have to kill him, it can’t be by the hands of Fu Bang!” Li Wenyuan was silent for a moment before suddenly opening his eyes and saying, ”Perhaps, we could turn to the Lady Boss.”

”Lady Boss?” Li Chengxing was surprised, as he had never heard the name before.

When Li Wenyuan arrived at the Lady Boss’s place, it was past two in the morning. The door to the teahouse was still open, and anyone could enter. Inside, there was a single, beautiful lady boss with a stunning figure, but for many years, no one dared to entertain any bad intentions here. Even when Li Wenyuan arrived, he did so alone, without bringing any subordinates.

The Lady Boss recognized Li Wenyuan, and upon seeing him enter, she chuckled, ”Gang Leader Li visiting so late at night, it seems you’re going to give me quite a sum of money!”

Li Wenyuan placed a suitcase on the table and said, ”Three million!”

”Three million, are you trying to take out the two big bosses of Tianqing Gang?” the Lady Boss asked with a slight smile, ”If so, Boss Li might as well forget about it. Those two big bosses have placed a bet of ten million here to guarantee their lives, and I can’t afford to break my promise.”

”I know about the Lady Boss’s rules. They bet ten million, and I bet ten million too. In this case, you are neutral, and of course, I wouldn’t trouble you,” Li Wenyuan said with a smile, ”The ones I want to kill aren’t those two.”

The Lady Boss paused for a moment, then smiled faintly, ”You want to kill Ye Qing?”

Li Wenyuan was taken aback and said, ”How did you know?”

”Tonight, this is the third contract I’ve received!” The Lady Boss smiled, ”I’m really quite curious about this Ye Qing now. What kind of person is he, that so many people want him dead?”

Li Wenyuan urgently asked, ”Besides me, who else wants his life?”

Lady Boss smiled faintly and shook her head, ”I can only say the name of one person, Yang Shitao. The other person, it’s not very convenient for me to disclose.”

The bounty of thirty million to take Ye Qing’s life had already become an official public bounty, so the Lady Boss didn’t need to keep his situation a secret. As for Bai Liangcai, her professional ethics required her to keep that matter confidential, after all, hiring someone to commit murder was a grave crime.

”Then... how much is he offering?” Li Wenyuan asked in a deep voice.

The Lady Boss extended three tender, jade-like fingers and lightly parted her red lips, ”Thirty million!”

Li Wenyuan took a deep breath. He had put down three million as a deposit. In fact, his plan was to spend one thousand five hundred million to have Ye Qing killed, and this amount had already caused him significant pain. He didn’t expect Yang Shitao to be so willing to spend money, offering thirty million like that.

With such a large bounty, it looked like quite a few people must be targeting Ye Qing already.

”The Eldest Boss is indeed the Eldest Boss, with spending habits quite unlike ordinary people!” Li Wenyuan nodded repeatedly, yet he felt a secret delight. With Yang Shitao putting so much money on the line, Ye Qing was bound to be doomed. That meant he could save his one thousand five hundred million.

”If only I had known this Ye Qing was so valuable, I should have demanded more from him,” the Lady Boss sighed and said, ”You also know, thirty million only gets you a seat at the third table from the back. If he were willing to pay fifty million, he could have secured a seat at the second table from the back. Fifty million, for a contract here, never once has there been a failure!”

Li Wenyuan sneered, ”That Mr. Ye isn’t worth that much money!”

The Lady Boss smiled faintly and said, ”Whether he’s worth it or not, we’ll know soon enough, I suppose!”

”I hope to hear good news as soon as possible!” Li Wenyuan stood up, picked up the box on the table, and smiled, ”Since that is the case, then I won’t keep you from your rest any longer.”

”Take care!” The Lady Boss didn’t even bother to get up; to her, the Gang Leader of one of Shenchuan City’s three major gangs didn’t warrant any respect.

Li Wenyuan walked out of the teahouse and had not yet returned to his car when a man wearing a duckbill cap passed by him and walked straight into the teahouse.

Li Wenyuan looked at the man in surprise and remained silent for a moment before turning and getting back into his car. However, he didn’t leave but instead waited there.

Half an hour after the man entered the teahouse, he came out carrying two large cases.

Seeing the man approaching, Li Wenyuan immediately got out of the car to meet him.

”Excuse me, my friend, please wait a moment!” Li Wenyuan stopped the man.

The duckbill cap hid half of the man’s face, barely revealing that he was a man in his thirties with a cold gaze. If Ye Qing had been there, he would have recognized this man as the same one who had blown up Chen Wuye and his nephew earlier, and who had caused a massive explosion at the North Huanqian Bay Bar.

The man looked at Li Wenyuan coldly, his right hand slipping into his pocket, staying highly vigilant.

Li Wenyuan, well-informed in Shenchuan City, already knew that the series of explosions were all committed by the same person. Moreover, it was always a man wearing a duckbill cap who was behind the explosions. Seeing this person, he immediately made the connection to the bomber, which is why he had waited here.

”My friend, you also accept work,” Li Wenyuan tried to make his smile as friendly as possible, and asked softly.

”Is there a problem?” the man replied coldly.

”I just want to discuss a deal with you,” Li Wenyuan glanced at the two cases in the man’s hands and said, ”Three hundred million to kill someone for me, how about it?”

”Not interested!” The man rejected outright and picked up his cases, ready to leave.

”Wait a moment!” Li Wenyuan rushed to stop him and said, ”Do you think the price isn’t enough? Whatever price you want, we can negotiate!”

”I’m not interested at any price!” the man replied coldly.

”My Eldest Brother is talking to you nicely, don’t you be too fucking arrogant!” Li Wenyuan’s bodyguard became furious, reaching out to grab the man.

The man’s expression turned ice-cold, and with a quick step back, he threw a small black bead at the bodyguard with a flick of his hand.

The bodyguard couldn’t dodge in time, was hit by the black bead, and in a flash of fire, it exploded, blackening the bodyguard completely. The explosion was accompanied by a thick white smoke that obscured everyone’s vision.
