The Ace Bigshot Becomes A Farmgirl

Chapter 1300: Chapter 1300: Steward Candidate

”What?!”

Daniu’s eyes widened as he suddenly stood up from his chair, looking at her in shock.

Shu Yu nodded, ”You heard me right, I just got the news.”

Not only the sunflower oil, but also the melon seeds are going to have a market soon.

Daniu swallowed hard, feeling a bit dazed. Their workshop, which was so small that it didn’t even have fifty workers, was actually going to do business with the Imperial Palace?

This step was a big leap forward.

Just yesterday, he was stealthily wondering when they could sell the workshop’s products to the prefecture, and for this, he couldn’t sleep well for most of the night.

And now, after just one night’s sleep, Yu had told him that their workshop’s oil had caught the eye of the most noble people in the world.

”Yu, am I dreaming?”

”Of course not.” Shu Yu watched with amusement as he pinched his own thigh hard, took a sip of tea, and said, ”But don’t spread this out just yet, I’ve only told you. Don’t even tell the people in the workshop. I learned this from Lord Xiang, and before the people from the Capital come and the deal is made, there are still uncertainties. If word gets out, it won’t be good for us.”

Daniu still felt a bit in a daze but immediately nodded solemnly at her words, ”I understand, don’t worry, I won’t tell anyone.”

”But when they are working daily, I’ll have to trouble you to keep an eye on them. Especially the part meant for the palace, we definitely have to select the best.”

”Yes, I understand.”

Seeing that he had mostly digested the information, Shu Yu said, ”You also shouldn’t do everything yourself. Right now, with fewer people in our workshop, you can manage it. But in the future, if there are more, you’ll exhaust yourself. Use this time to see who has management potential and good character, and promote them to stewards. Each person can manage a small part, and if any issues arise, you can find the person in charge.”

Daniu thought for a moment, ”I do have someone in mind, but...”

”But what?”

Daniu scratched his head, ”This person works hard, is willing to endure hardships, and speaks clearly... but he, he is...”

”He’s from the Ruan Family Village?” Shu Yu raised an eyebrow.

Daniu was surprised, ”How did you know who I was talking about?”

”Because I also see potential in him, and since you were hesitating so much, I naturally guessed.”

Daniu smiled awkwardly, ”Do you think Dali could be a steward?”

Shu Yu actually held a good opinion of Ruan Dali. When they were hiring, the Ruan Family Village got the news too.

And indeed, five or six people came.

Due to Old Lady Ruan and Village Chief Ruan, she had no good feelings towards the Ruan Family Village and almost without thinking excluded the Ruan Family Village.

Although it felt somewhat impulsive, there was nothing she could do; the reputation of Ruan Family Village was terrible in her eyes. If it were just the Ruan family, it would be fine, but as a village chief being like that, she had to question the village’s ethos.

Ruan Dali was naturally also on the rejection list, but later, as others angrily left, Ruan Dali stayed squatting outside the workshop.

Even when the hiring ended, he hadn’t left, and after Shu Yu came out, he caught up with her, pleading for some time to explain his situation.

Shu Yu nodded and listened while walking as Ruan Dali hurriedly explained his case.

What piqued her interest was that Ruan Dali’s family used to run an oil press workshop.
