The Ace Bigshot Becomes A Farmgirl

Chapter 1256: Chapter 1256: The Sixth Young Lady Marries

Shu Yu didn’t expect that Madam Hou would leave with Lord Wan in such a manner.

“Eh, that’s not right.” The old lady suddenly frowned, “According to you, the Sixth Young Lady also went to the capital with Madam Hou, right? She’s a legitimate member of the Shu family, she can’t be bought. Even if Second Master disowns her, it wouldn’t matter, right? How did she leave?”

When this was brought up, Shu Yu’s expression turned slightly complicated, and she sighed, “Marriage.”

“What?”

Shu Yu said, “Married to a man who is not a criminal or of lowly birth, naturally, Sixth Young Lady shed the identity of an exile.”

The old lady frowned, “But, isn’t she only twelve?”

“In this world, there are girls who get married at twelve,” Shu Yu said helplessly.

The old lady opened her mouth, her mind skimming through several examples.

Normally, there are indeed many girls betrothed at twelve.

Of course, there are those who get married, but they’re indeed very few.

A twelve-year-old girl, her body is not even fully grown, how can she marry?

Shu Yu knew what the old lady was thinking, she patted her hand and said, “Don’t worry, Grandmother, this is just a temporary measure. Sixth Young Lady is married to a guard by Lord Wan’s side, who is five or six years older than her. They are husband and wife in name only, and it won’t be publicly acknowledged. It’s just in case someone questions them, they have a defensive front.”

The old lady understood that this was simply a method to take Sixth Young Lady away from the place of exile.

“But what if, when Sixth Young Lady reaches the age of marriage, she can’t just divorce that guard, right? Even if she could, she would have been married before, making it hard to find a good match later.”

Having some level of acquaintance, the old lady still wished the best for that little girl, Sixth Young Lady.

Shu Yu was silent for a moment, “I suppose this is a decision that Madam Hou and Sixth Young Lady have considered deeply. Madam Hou has been through so much, she knows what is the best choice. Perhaps for her and Sixth Young Lady, escaping the status of lowly birth is a rare opportunity.”

With Lord Wan’s backing, Sixth Young Lady’s situation was resolved easily.

Once they leave Linzhang Prefecture and regain their freedom, they can slowly strive to achieve what they desire.

If they were stuck there, they’d be unable to do anything.

The old lady thought about it and agreed, “Madam Hou is smart and loves Sixth Young Lady dearly, any decision she makes is for her benefit.”

Upon saying this, she became cheerful, “No matter what, this is good news.”

“Yes, so I plan to pick out some gifts from the storeroom to send to the capital, as a celebration for her.”

The old lady nodded repeatedly, “Absolutely, absolutely.”

The grandmother and granddaughter continued selecting suitable items, and once they were chosen, they took them outside.

After having lunch later, they would pack them properly and send them to the escort agency.

Just after washing hands, Madam Ruan returned.

She went to the street and bought many things, as Shuyou had to return home tomorrow with her husband, she had to prepare to welcome the new son-in-law properly.

Upon hearing Madam Ruan mention the son-in-law, the old lady suddenly smacked her forehead, “I almost forgot, I originally intended to talk to you about Lanhua, but upon hearing about Madam Hou, I was so shocked, I forgot all about it.”

Madam Ruan looked at her mother-in-law and then her daughter, “What about Lanhua? What happened to Madam Hou?”

Shu Yu briefly recounted Madam Hou’s situation, leaving Madam Ruan wide-eyed in astonishment and disbelief.
