The Ace Bigshot Becomes A Farmgirl

Capítulo 1278: Chapter 1278: Cannot Sell Within Three Years

Steward Guo’s sudden action startled both Old Master Miao and Meng Yunzheng.

The two looked at him without showing any expression. Old Master Miao squinted his eyes, “A requirement? What requirement?”

“After selling this estate and the hill to Old Master Miao, for three years, Old Master Miao cannot sell it to anyone else.”

Old Master Miao immediately threw the pen in his hand aside and couldn’t help but laugh coldly, “Steward Guo, your requirement is rather unreasonable. Once the house and hill are sold to me, they are mine. What to do with them and how to handle them are my business. Why, are you still wanting to control them after selling? Then is it my house or yours? Am I not just giving myself trouble?”

Steward Guo laughed and said, “Old Master Miao, don’t get angry. I’m just following orders from above. Look, I’ve given you a discount of Five thousand taels, so this requirement isn’t excessive, is it? Since Old Master Miao is sincerely buying this estate and hill, I presume there’s a plan, and there’s no way they’ll be sold within three years, right?”

Old Master Miao sneered, “When we discussed the price, there was no mention of such a requirement. Five thousand taels was my initial, unconditional offer. I do have plans to conduct business with this estate, but if the business isn’t doing well and incurs losses, do I have to keep it here rotting for three years?”

Steward Guo remained silent, knowing that Old Master Miao would certainly be unhappy with this requirement.

But there was no choice, it was merely an insurance measure.

He didn’t speak further, but Old Master Miao’s heart gradually started to sink.

If Steward Guo insists, it seems that this estate might not be acquired, and by then his transaction with Monarch Lu Xiang would not be fulfilled.

Old Master Miao was more concerned about moving his sister’s longevity lamp to the ancestral seat.

The atmosphere in the room was somewhat heavy.

Old Master Miao secretly glanced at Meng Yunzheng, who touched his nose with a finger discreetly raised.

Old Master Miao understood.

He cleared his throat lightly, “Steward Guo, I am sincerely intending to purchase this estate; otherwise, I wouldn’t have negotiated with you for so long. Three years is indeed too long, as you know what I do, I earn quick money. If business isn’t good, I’ll immediately shut down. How about this: we both take a step back. I promise not to sell it within a year, and you give me an additional discount of One thousand taels. How about that?”

Steward Guo, “…” You really can bargain.

Old Master Miao, “Steward Guo, it’s almost time to sign the contract, and I don’t want to create more complications. If we can negotiate, let’s negotiate; if not, then there’s nothing I can do.”

Steward Guo indeed didn’t want more complications; the matter had dragged on for too long.

Even though the master said that if it couldn’t be sold, it could just be left there, ultimately it would mean he failed to handle it efficiently.

A year is neither too long nor too short, and with Old Master Miao’s pace of making money, he’ll certainly make use of the estate immediately. If the reputation turns bad, it would be difficult for Meng Yunzheng to take over.

After hesitating for a moment, “Alright, one year it is.”

Old Master Miao was pleased, “Then let’s sign. I just took a round; this estate is nice, but there’s still quite a lot to be altered. I need to quickly find someone to discuss renovation matters.”

“Alright.”

Having decided, Steward Guo had another modified contract written and placed on the table.

Old Master Miao was a cautious person. He asked Meng Yunzheng to review the contents and, after ensuring there were no issues, signed his name.
