The Ace Bigshot Becomes A Farmgirl

Capítulo 1265: Chapter 1265: The Brothel Where Madam Hou Once Stayed

This was Shu Yu’s first time experiencing a brothel from the Dasu dynasty. Standing at the entrance of Piaoxiang Courtyard, looking at the girls in skimpy clothes in such cold weather who greeted guests with smiles, she couldn’t help but shiver.

Yunzheng Meng thought she didn’t like such places and said, “Let’s go for now. We don’t have to go inside; we can just ask around nearby.”

The madam of Piaoxiang Courtyard was a woman in her forties who still retained her charm. She managed the entire brothel in an orderly manner, and everyone in the area knew of Liu Ru’s reputation.

But Liu Ru was just the madam; the real boss wasn’t her. The person they were looking for was naturally the one with the authority to make decisions.

“We don’t need to ask around.” Shu Yu saw the girls inside already reaching out to pull her and Yunzheng Meng and quickly stood aside.

The two of them crouched in a corner, watching the lively scene ahead.

Shu Yu suddenly said, “I thought Piaoxiang Courtyard sounded familiar. Now I remember, this is the very brothel where Madam Hou once stayed.”

Madam Hou was originally the maid of the top girl in Piaoxiang Courtyard. It was only under the protection of that top girl that she remained safe. But as she grew older, the madam intended to auction off her first time.

Madam Hou was clever. Before that happened, she caught the attention of Second Master Shu, who was then the magistrate’s younger brother, and became his concubine, escaping the life of greeting and sending off guests.

Madam Hou had talked a lot about life in brothels with Shu Yu. Earlier, she felt it was disgraceful to bring up her past. However, once when she inadvertently talked about it with Shu Yu, she saw that Shu Yu didn’t seem to look down on brothel women, which made her sigh with relief.

After that, Madam Hou talked more with her, mainly wanting to share life experiences. Especially since Shu Yu was about to come of age, when they reached Righteous Dao Village, the former steward, Master Lan, even intended to have Shu Yu work at the music center.

Isn’t that music center similar to a brothel? Worried Shu Yu wouldn’t understand, Madam Hou even shared some dirty secrets from the brothel to prevent her from being misguided.

Because of this, Shu Yu knew quite a bit about Piaoxiang Courtyard.

Yunzheng Meng couldn’t help but twitch his lips at the connection he hadn’t anticipated.

He rubbed his forehead and asked, “Did she mention who the boss of Piaoxiang Courtyard is?”

Shu Yu frowned, “Wait a moment, let me think.”

Madam Hou mostly talked about the girls and some clients in the brothel, as well as some of her own experiences.

Of course, she also discussed a lot about the madam. However, during her time in the brothel, the madam wasn’t Liu Ru as it is now.

As for the boss…

After searching through her memory for a while, Shu Yu suddenly laughed, “I remember now, the boss of Piaoxiang Courtyard is Old Master Miao, who lives in the west of the city.”

Old Master Miao??

Yunzheng Meng was fairly familiar with the Dongan Prefecture, but he didn’t know everyone. Old Master Miao ran a brothel, but he really hadn’t explored this aspect.

“Looks like we’ll have to take a trip to the west side of the city to investigate what kind of person Old Master Miao is.”

They were counting on Old Master Miao to act as a middleman to buy the black market and then sell it to them, so they naturally had to cater to his preferences.

However, a person like Old Master Miao, who could manage such a large brothel, was definitely not easy to deal with.

It’s impossible to move him with emotions, so they could only find his weakness and either threaten or lure him.

Yunzheng Meng got up to leave, but Shu Yu suddenly stopped him, “No need to go to the west side.”
