My Alleged Husband

Chapter 1434: Chapter 1229: Carrying Hope

Let’s all raise our hands and walk together with hope, never forgetting that no matter where we are, someone is always waiting for you to come home.

While the two were talking, Zhang Zhentian had been standing outside the hospital room eavesdropping for who knows how long. She heard his wife utter such heartless words, and in a fit of anger, he pushed the door open and burst into the room. When Old Master Zhang saw his son burst into the room so recklessly, he wondered when his son would finally grow up. Why did he always act like a child, unable to understand the situation, casually entering someone else’s room? Didn’t he know that this only made others think they were impolite?

Xia Jing was shocked when Zhang Zhentian pushed the door open. She didn’t expect there to be someone standing outside. If she had known, she wouldn’t have spoken so bluntly; doing so would only make their relationship worse and possibly beyond repair. But things already were what they were. What could she do? Could she really bow her head and admit she was wrong? Was it her fault? Would saying it like this really make him believe her? She simply couldn’t believe it was true.

”When did you start standing outside the door? Don’t you know that eavesdropping is very impolite? Don’t you know that doing this makes me feel like you don’t take me seriously? If I’m in your heart, you could have straightforwardly asked me to my face; why resort to eavesdropping instead? Don’t you know this really makes me look down on you?”

”Even if I straightforwardly asked you, would you honestly tell me everything? You don’t need to think of ways to deceive me. If not for this, how could I possibly know what you truly think? If I didn’t stand outside eavesdropping, how could I know your true inner thoughts?

Your heart clearly harbors hatred for me, yet you pretend to be indifferent in front of me. But in front of my father, you reveal all your true feelings. Am I really so unworthy of your trust that even speaking a single truth is so hard? What happens when you stand in front of me and speak a truth? Would it cost you your life?”

”Since this is the case, now that you’ve heard so much, I’ll make things clear in front of father. You should already know that the things you’ve done may mean nothing to you, but to me, they are a form of hurt. You never considered what I wanted. You only thought what you could give was what I wanted. But do you understand? I really don’t know how I’ve managed all these years. I also regarded you as important, but in the end, you treated me like this. How can I continue living with you for a lifetime? I’m not a saint; I also need a relationship, a genuine and purposeful sentiment from someone else. Can you provide that?

Ask yourself honestly, you can’t provide such a relationship, so what gives you the right to ask me to stay by your side forever? I’ve always sacrificed and endured, thinking that if I just sacrificed to be with you, eventually you would see my love for you. But ultimately, is that really the case? Did you really see my love for you? You hurt me again and again. Is this your love for me?

People have feelings, and things have become the way they are now. There’s nothing we can say to mend things back to the way they were. I once thought that as long as I was with you, I didn’t need anything else. But in the end, I discovered I couldn’t do it. You might see me as a vain woman because you’re not taking medicine for the first time and think I was with you for money. The heart doesn’t believe, and without trust, why should we force ourselves to be together?

Do you know? Being with you, I’m constantly reflecting on whether I made the right decision. I’m torn and miserable over right or wrong. You’ve never experienced this pain, so how could you know how pained I feel inside? If you truly love me, if there’s the slightest bit of guilt and love for me, then please let go...”

Zhang Zhentian never expected that Xia Jing was always thinking of giving up on him. But why was he so persistent in being with her? He gave so much being with her, yet these were the results. No one expected such a heartbreak as this. He once thought that as long as he could be with the one he loved, he would give up everything without hesitation. But now he realized it was all just wishful thinking; everything he had was just a mirage.

”If you think I’ve done something wrong, then please tell me clearly! Why do you always treat me with such thoughts? Do you know using such a method against me only brings me heartache?

If you truly don’t want to be with me, then please tell me clearly. Don’t give me hope over and over and then let me down. That pain is something you wouldn’t want to experience, so why force it upon me? Do you think you’re being fair to me? Fair to our many years of marriage? I love you so much, seeing you as a lifetime partner, but does that mean you’re someone who is constantly thinking about leaving me and running away?

How can you be so cruel, so ruthless? I love you so much, but you hurt me like this. Our decade-long marriage means so little to you, you willingly bury my love for you completely, making me see you as a bad woman. I’m so persistent in being with you, yet you use such thoughts to hurt me. Why should I continue being obsessed with you? Don’t worry, I won’t be obsessed anymore!”

”I already told you not to persist for a girl like me. It was you foolishly staying on your own, and wasn’t it continuing? Ah, since you hate me so much, let’s not contact each other from now on. Let’s act as if we never knew each other. From now on, we are no longer acquaintances but strangers! Ah, from the very start I didn’t meet you; from the beginning, I never thought of continuing life with you. It was you who insisted on clinging to me, not letting me leave. Is that also my fault? I’m making it clear today. I’m severing all ties with you; we no longer have any connection...”

Every person has an unwavering belief in their heart, and in a flash, everything changes. Moving is ultimately just moving.
