My Alleged Husband

Chapter 1422: Chapter 1217: Love and Not Loving

In fact, Zhang Yichen had long known that his uncle had no good feelings towards his father, but he never intervened because his aunt was always trying to persuade him.

Yet everyone knows my father is actually a sentimental person.

”Xiao Wei, whether brother-in-law truly loves sister or not is something we cannot ask about or meddle in, because ultimately it is their marital affair. As outsiders, what we can do is protect our family from getting hurt. If, due to our actions, our family is repeatedly hurt and put through pain, then why are we treating them this way?

Originally, some things needn’t be so complicated. If our interference makes things excessively complex, do you think that’s good for us? Or, putting it another way, does that bring them joy and happiness?

Actually, you should know, some matters should not be interfered with.

Because perhaps that matter is not as painful as it seems, but in the end, due to our involvement, it makes their lives sad and difficult. By doing so, we are not helping them, but harming them. We all hope our loved ones can live happily, and to us, that’s the most important thing. We shouldn’t let our self-interest cause our family to suffer pain and harm!

Xiao Wei, sometimes even I can’t figure out who loves whom more. Maybe the life they want isn’t how things are. But the life I desire is really simple, I don’t want my life to be so complicated and full of pain.

You have seen how your sister lives her life firsthand. If our lives are to be just like hers, then why do we choose this ending?”

”Regardless of what sister thinks, I don’t care how rough her life might get or whether she will be happy. What I want is just for her to be joyful and happy now. If she can’t even achieve happiness now, how can she continue to live happily?”

You know what kind of person brother-in-law is. Even if he truly loves sister, can he really keep opposing his elderly father and his family just for his wife time and time again? Can he really abandon his family’s interests casually like before? I dare say now he definitely won’t, he already knows what he truly wants. Under no circumstances will he again forsake his father, his son, and his entire family for his wife.

If he once again abandons his whole family and father for his wife, how do you think Old Master Zhang will feel within? How could he forgive his son? It wasn’t easy for them to return home this time, they humbled themselves to beg for them. But if due to another mistake, they completely leave the home, isn’t all her efforts wasted then?

If anyone were in this situation, they wouldn’t accept it willingly. No one would willingly allow their efforts to be wasted without any return.”

Xiao Wei felt that no matter what, he should call his brother-in-law to ask how his sister is living now. But as his wife said, some matters a younger sibling should not meddle in, as it would only place his sister in a dilemma, torn between her brother, family, and husband. Wouldn’t it make his sister feel trapped?

Yet, if he truly doesn’t ask, then it proves he is indifferent to his sister’s life, making her feel worse. As a younger brother, how should he act to achieve a balance? Should he be the villain and bear all criticism and pressure, becoming the victim, for their benefit?

He really doesn’t want to endure the past pain again, but he simply cannot remain unaffected. Why is it so difficult to achieve what he desires, why does the world always oppose him? Why does everything he wants slip through his carelessness, why is heaven repeatedly pushing him to extremes, forcing him to go against it? Will doing so not incur divine retribution? He desires merely his family’s happiness and well-being, but what are his results time and again?

”Xiao Wei, no matter what others are thinking, regardless of your inner state, there are things I must clarify with you. Everyone’s attitude towards matters differ, leading to different outcomes. This time, everything is predetermined, don’t think about changing these outcomes, no one can alter conclusions already set by heaven!

Don’t even consider calling Zhang Zhentian to ask if he truly loves your sister; such questions are pointless, they’ll only lead your brother-in-law to believe your sister said something to you. If their marital relationship turns sour, you’ll truly become the villain.

Securely perform what’s proper between us, protect those we should, don’t continually pursue pointless dreams, those dreams aren’t yours, no matter how innocent or perfect you make them, others will always think you caused their family discord, their downfall.

Everyone is selfish and self-absorbed, when their own matters are at stake, they won’t consider relatives. What becomes of familial ties then? Time after time, the outcomes clarify that everything we steadfastly believed in isn’t at all significant, right? Even if you prioritize it, will it truly exist in their hearts as gratitude towards you?

If they don’t repay kindness with hatred, that’s good enough, why naively think of sharing happiness and joy with them.

Perhaps you find my words excessive, maybe you think they’re unpleasant internally, and don’t want to hear them, but I have no choice, some things I must clarify with you, otherwise you’ll be the one who suffers!”

Everyone knows harboring a crush too long ends friendships, but still can’t let go of that person, that person remains in one’s heart.
