My Alleged Husband

Chapter 1413: Chapter 1212: Who Hasn’t Been Hurt? (2)

Even though all children are the same, why does my childhood have such a huge gap compared to others? It’s because I was born into a wealthy family, and I have to accept the fate of being abandoned by my parents. I have to accept falling down again and again, then getting up strong, and face everyone’s ridicule with a smile?

I am unwilling, truly unwilling. You have your own unwillingness regarding many things, so why can’t my heart be unwilling just once? I’ve given so much, why is this the result I ultimately receive? If I had known it would turn out like this, why would I have chosen to be born into your wombs in the first place? Why did you bring me into this world to endure such pain?”

”Child, don’t say anymore. Over the years, we know what you’ve been through. You’ve had a hard and difficult life, and everything you have achieved is through your own efforts. You’ve never asked anyone for help, and precisely because of this, our hearts as parents are even more unable to bear it. We never thought we would bring you such harm. We just wanted you to live this life quietly and peacefully.

But in the end, why have I brought you such pain? Again and again, being a parent has lost its meaning. I no longer know how to bring a happy and peaceful family to my child!

You’re right, as parents, we are indeed not qualifications parents because we did not fulfill any responsibility towards you. Having brought you much pain, can your heart hate me? But don’t take it out on your mother. Your mother did all this out of helplessness; she was forced by me. She never considered abandoning you; she never thought of giving up on you, her own flesh and blood. At that time, she was holding onto you; I was pulling her to leave. She refused to let go because you were the child she carried for ten hard months, connected by blood!”

”Actually, it’s not important anymore who’s to blame. Today, I just want to express all these years of thoughts deep in my heart. I don’t want to forever trap myself in a small room. I don’t want to live my whole life tormented by painful memories. I just want you to know that I’ve already forgiven you. If I hadn’t forgiven you, I wouldn’t be saying these words to you, because I have no obligation or responsibility to ease the guilt in your heart!”

Child, you wouldn’t understand your mom’s dissatisfaction with me. I hurt her, and she can’t just forgive me like this. She should be quite happy now being away from me, no longer being hurt, right?

Zhang Zhentian now finally understands that his grandson didn’t come to see him truly out of a desire to visit him. It was just a pretense, claiming to welcome him back into the family. But in reality, it was a warning, advising him not to act as he did in the past, harming everyone in the family. If he continued like that, it would waste their effort in lowering themselves to plead for him today.

He really did not expect it to be this way; such a young child with such deep thoughts, doesn’t she understand that if he were to abandon her harshly once more, what result would he end up with?

”Child, Grandpa knows that it is Grandpa and Grandma who have wronged you, your father, and your great-grandfather. But so many years have passed, and we have all recognized our mistakes. We have now returned to this family, even though this time it’s because of your pleas; I am very grateful. But some things are not as simple as you imagine, and some words are not easily put into action. Don’t you understand the crux of the matter yet?”

Zhang Ni now really doesn’t want to discuss these issues with his grandfather. Every time they discuss these issues, no matter who’s at fault, even if he holds the upper hand, some things are not so easily clarified in mere words. Decades of abandonment can’t possibly vanish just because of his sudden return. Even if his father can truly not hold a grudge against him, he can’t. Never having received their love since childhood, he yearned step-by-step for his grandparents to return, putting in all his efforts, walking a path so arduous. How can his heart find peace when they come back and converse with him in this manner?
