My Alleged Husband

Chapter 1428: Chapter 1223: The Promise Made Back Then

Floating, floating, I’ve already forgotten what path I should take, and the home I thought I’d forgotten still appears before me.

How could Xiao Wei not understand Zhang Yichen’s feelings at this moment? As a child, how could one not fear losing their mother, even if this mother has made many mistakes, even if this mother has never truly been there for them, even if this mother has only brought harm from beginning to end. But as long as this person is there, there is a kind of happiness.

”Child, believe in your mother, good people are blessed by heaven, she will definitely wake up. You shouldn’t be too sad either. When the day comes that she wakes up, you must accompany her well, and say all the things you want to say, don’t keep them in your heart, or you’ll live with a heavy burden. You should consider what your mother has gone through all these years for your sake. Abandoning you back then wasn’t intentional; she had no choice. The reality was there, and although it’s hard to accept, you should choose to forgive. Only by forgiving those who’ve hurt you before, can you truly be a strong person!”

”Uncle, from the beginning to the end, I never wanted to be a strong person. To me, whether I am one or not doesn’t matter.

I only care about whether I can receive complete love from my parents, but the reality seems that I’ll never have that day, because I might never wait for that day.”

How could Xiao Wei not understand what that sentence from his nephew meant? Who isn’t worried? The person lying inside is their own family member, and the people waiting outside are all his family too!

Those who haven’t experienced familial love have no way of understanding this feeling.

Ran Zhihan, after settling his son at home, decided to go to the hospital anyway, after all, the one lying in the hospital is his family. If he still doesn’t care after all these years, is he too indifferent, too heartless?

As soon as Ran Zhihan arrived at the hospital, he heard his husband and his uncle discussing the matter. Even though deep down he was unwilling and reluctant, he had to admit, even if his parents hadn’t been by his side all these years, they had given him something no one else could.

That is—Zhang Yichen!

Even if, deep down, Ran Zhihan didn’t want to see his mother anymore, he knew that if it weren’t for his mother, he wouldn’t have his husband, and he wouldn’t have such a happy and joyful life now. He still had to thank his mother for leaving him such a good husband.

While they were chatting, the sound of an alarm from the ICU equipment came through.

Zhang Yichen felt anxious upon hearing that sound, because he was all too familiar with it. Two weeks ago, his mother was almost taken away by that very sound. His first reaction to hearing it was to hurry and find a doctor; he couldn’t let such a tragedy happen to him again.

”Zhihan, stay here with Uncle; I’ll quickly find a doctor. We can’t let this happen; if it really does, I’d never find peace in my life!”

Upon saying this, Zhang Yichen quickly turned and ran to the doctor’s office to find the doctor on duty. It was deep in the night, and they knew the doctor needed rest, so he could only quickly knock on the door, to inform his parents’ attending physician about this matter as fast as possible.

”Doctor, Doctor!”

The doctor heard Zhang Yichen knocking so urgently and didn’t know what had happened to make the young man so eager; she felt a sense of unease welling up inside her.

”What happened? Is there an emergency? Just tell me quickly!”

”I beg you, please save my parents, the ICU equipment alarm went off, hurry, hurry! I really don’t want anything to happen to them.”

After hearing his words, the doctor had no time to waste; she quickly threw on her white coat and rushed to the ICU. She knew that this time, no mistakes could be made!

A group of doctors entered the ICU to resuscitate Zhang Zhentian. This time the situation was even more dangerous. An incident that hadn’t occurred for two weeks actually happened again, and he didn’t know what to say. None among them maybe realized what kind of ending they were facing now, maybe this ending would make them lose their closest ones, yet they couldn’t enter, only stand outside watching the resuscitation process inside, their hearts tormented.

”Yichen, don’t worry, your father will be absolutely fine. You have to believe in him. The fact that he has lived safely for so many years proves he has his own will to survive, and his will to live is not weaker than anyone else’s, so you must stay calm, okay? Don’t let your grandfather worry over this matter either.

You must hide this from your grandfather, no matter what, don’t let him know the truth about what’s happening here, otherwise, he will truly collapse; he can no longer bear such a blow. You should think carefully about how to explain this to your grandfather.”

Zhang Yichen’s mind was in turmoil, he truly didn’t know how to tell his grandfather about this. Deep down they knew what kind of ending this might be. If he went and told his grandfather now, his grandfather couldn’t bear it and would break down. But if he continued to hide it and his grandfather found out, how would his grandfather feel knowing about this?

Li Jiayuan had fallen asleep in a deep sleep; he was simply too tired today; he hadn’t rested for a day and a night. He feared something bad would happen, he finally wanted to sneak a nap, but he hadn’t realized such a matter would happen this very night.

When he heard the monitoring sound alarming from the emergency room, he knew that his sister had another incident, he quickly woke up, but he had no way to accept such a thing happening again.

”Husband, how is Elder Sister Xia Jing? Wasn’t she alright in the afternoon? How did this suddenly happen, what exactly is going on?”

Seeing his wife so anxiously distressed, Xiao Wei felt awful deep down as well, but he didn’t know how to answer his wife because he didn’t know what was going on either. How could a perfectly fine person suddenly become like this?

Back then, the situation was so urgent, yet no one gave up, everyone was doing what they most wanted to do, each person living happily.
