My Alleged Husband

Chapter 1411: Chapter 1211: Never Gave Up (6)

Ran Zhihan let her grandfather talk to himself every day, and there were many things she couldn’t understand. She didn’t know the meaning behind some of Old Master Zhang’s words, so she had to ask her husband. Only when she told her husband about it did she realize how much pain her grandfather was holding inside.

”Husband, what do you think grandfather is mumbling about alone there? Watching him, his eyes turn red as he speaks. Is he about to cry? I’ve never seen grandfather so fragile before. In my heart, he’s always been such a strong figure, never shedding a tear over small matters. But why is it that grandfather, talking to himself, becomes so emotional?”

”Wife, don’t you understand the kind of person grandfather is? Our grandfather always gives off this strong and righteous aura, but no one knows the pain inside him. Everything he does, no one has ever tried to understand or empathize with his suffering. People only consider their own interests, never thinking about the kind of encouragement grandfather might need in his heart. You see grandfather smiling at us every day; don’t you know that inside, he’s actually in a lot of pain? But he doesn’t want to bring this pain onto us, so even though he’s deeply hurting, he can only force a smile in front of me. He wants us to know that only by facing life with a smile can we receive rewards. He believes that if you always respond to society with a smile, then one day, heaven will smile back at you. But grandfather doesn’t know that his smile, which brought love to many, has left him unloved in return!”

”Yes! Grandfather’s life is so pitiful. He did so much for us, yet we can’t do anything for him. I wish time could flow backward. If we could return, I would definitely treat grandfather with the utmost respect, ensuring his happiness every day without him having to force a smile for our sake. Alas, that day will never return. Time flows forward toward the distance, impossible to reverse, and my grandfather grows older with its passage. We too grow day by day, watching our son learn and grow, becoming more adorable by the day. I find myself reluctant to let time pass like this, as I’m afraid it will slip away before I can see my son fully grown. The scariest thing in life isn’t losing someone, but losing someone without realizing what you’ve lost. When you look back, you find that what you lost was the person who cared most and loved you the most in this world. That’s when the pain in your heart is multiplied a thousandfold, a pain that no moment can relieve. No one can understand where this pain comes from, and no one can bear it with you!”

Zhang Yichen knew every word his wife said came from the heart, and he understood. He knew her words were genuine, but didn’t know how to respond. He’d heard these words more than once, yet they never brought a good result. He knew that the pain in his heart was never from words that were easily spoken, but from a fate predetermined by others, pouring salt again and again on his wounds. A pain as excruciating as a broken heart, a pain that no one is willing to help him bear.

Zhang Ni watched her parents walk over. She hugged Ran Zhihan tightly and said, ”Mom, why do other kids always have their grandparents with them, and I don’t? Where are my grandparents? Why don’t they want to be with me?”

”Do they think I’m not cute enough? Or not obedient enough? I truly wish my grandparents could come back and be with me, even for just one day, it would make me so happy. I haven’t seen my grandma in so long, I really miss them. Mom, can you tell me where my grandparents are?”

”I want to find them, I want them to come back and be with me, to play with me. Other kids have their parents and grandparents to play with, but I only have my parents and a great-grandfather, while my grandparents aren’t here, which makes me feel really sad inside.”

Everyone present was surprised that such a young child, not even two years old, could speak such words. Such intelligence was astonishing; with such looks and intelligence, he would become quite the charmer in the future.

Those days were very joyful, but now life is something I can’t accept, and I’m suffering greatly.

Even so, I’ve never thought of giving up on finding your mom.
