My Alleged Husband

Chapter 684: Chapter 654 Believe in Me_1

How could Zhang Zhentian possibly not know the meaning behind the words spoken by his own son? As a father, he understood his own flesh and blood the best, yet he chose to say nothing and silently accepted every word his child said to him, he was humbly approaching his child for the good, he always wished his child would sincerely forgive him, so that he could be at home, and only at that moment would his heart truly be able to let go of the burden inside, and he felt that his sense of guilt was not so deep.

In the beginning, for his selfish reasons, he gave up his entire family, his whole clan, causing his father to suffer so much, while he, as the son, happily lived his own life outside. What right did he have to demand? How could his father harbor so much love for him? Why keep causing his loved ones, because of his actions, to grieve and shed tears, while he remained indifferent?

Zhang Zhentian knew that not everyone in the world was hard-hearted, everyone was originally fragile. If someone ended up hard-hearted, it could only mean that person had suffered too much, had been through too many blows that they had to turn themselves into someone like a hedgehog, on guard against everyone, to protect themselves well and not be harmed by anyone. Perhaps only such people could live happily to the end, because they would not have to accept any harm inflicted by others, and they would definitely live happily. But who knew that even such people, though they might feel they were unharmed by others, would still be lonely at heart, because without being hurt by others, they would also have no friends. They lived a solitary life, and in the end, they got nothing, achieved nothing.

”Child, I understand the meaning of what you’re saying. As a father, what I understand best is my own child. All you’ve said is just so we can stay at home together, be accompanied, and let your grandpa live a happy life. I know you are a dutiful and good child. We have always been paying attention to everything you do. We never intervened because we believe every decision you make is the right one. After all, your eyes are as bright as your grandpa’s. Every decision you make is definitely free from error, without any deviation. I believe that if you can accomplish this much in your career, your personal life will certainly not fall short of anyone’s achievements!”

My abandonment has caused you irreparable harm, but if you can forgive me, I am truly happy and content. I don’t ask for much, just to have my family by my side. That’s enough for me. I’ve rarely experienced such things in my life; I’ve always been living happily under others’ protection, and such a life may seem ordinary to me, but you may find it sad.

Child, I have to admit, the hardships your dad has gone through over the years, no one can understand. Maybe you think everything I’m saying is a lie, but have you thought about why I would say these things to you and not others? Because I believe my own son will never take these words as a joke. All that I have encountered over the years, I have never told anyone, including your mom. She doesn’t know how much pain I’ve suffered, how my heart has been tormented, how I’ve been tormenting myself. I don’t believe I could ultimately abandon my family!

”What’s the point of saying these words now? What do they mean? Don’t you feel any guilt when you say them? Haven’t you ever felt a shred of shame in your heart? You say you never wanted me to do those things, but since you did them, you shouldn’t be saying these words today. Saying such things will only make others look down on you. Tell me, what was the reason for your initial actions? Once you left, you left. Abandoning your skills means abandoning that kind of abandonment can never be forgiven because of repeating the same mistakes time and again. Why should others forgive you time and again? Do they deserve to be hurt repeatedly by you?”

Since I’ve said today that I truly and sincerely forgive you, I will definitely not say any words to make you look bad, but I hope you will not test my limits. Everyone has a bottom line for patience, and if someone’s patience is exhausted, why should they continue to live happily in this world? I know you find these words unpleasant to hear and think I’m deliberately bullying you, but have you ever considered what your actions over the years have amounted to? Do you think you deserve anything? You feel happiness, you’ve gotten everything you wanted, but when you look back over the years, have you really reached what you wanted?

Because everything you do is still as selfish as before, for your own reasons, you can abandon your family, your relatives and friends, you can give up everything. Maybe people like you will never know what real heartache is. Maybe every expression you’ve put on is fake, but I choose to believe in my grandpa. I believe in my grandpa because I want to give him a happy old age. He hopes that his son and daughter-in-law will return home, and no matter how much I don’t want to, I will let you come back, because I want to repay him for raising me all these years, for his teachings. I have never forgotten any of his teachings; I keep them in my heart, because my grandpa has made me who I am today. I believe, and trust that one day, you will feel that you were wrong and want to return to our side, to live a peaceful life with our family. But I hope you won’t interfere with any decisions our family has already made!”
