My Alleged Husband

Chapter 670: Chapter 640 Regret_2

We brought you the greatest pain, ensuring that you’d never truly be happy in this lifetime. But do you know? As parents, who wouldn’t want to plan for their child’s future? Yet we were helpless because we had already taken this path. We had to continue on this path for the rest of our lives. If we regretted it, can you imagine how terrible that would be? Do you understand? Your parents aren’t heartless. Everything we’ve done in our lives, although somewhat selfish, was ultimately for you. You might not believe it because we’ve deceived you too many times, but every word we say is true. We sincerely wanted you to stay by our side for a lifetime and would never abandon you!

We always thought that making these mistakes wouldn’t hurt you too much, but we never expected that they would bother you for so many years. This time, all the faults were our own as parents, and we couldn’t blame anyone else. We only knew that what we did wrong would inevitably bring us different outcomes. After all I’ve sacrificed, I’m still faced with an uncertain answer, and it continues to be hard for us.

Ran Zhihan couldn’t bear to watch the quarrel between his spouse, and his in-laws continue—it would only make things more awkward for the family. He decided to step in and speak out for what’s fair while also advising his spouse what to do. Some issues should be stopped before they go too far; there was no need to make things so unbearable and awkward. Why make each other feel so miserable?

”Yichen, don’t speak to your parents like that anymore. In fact, your heart is softer than anyone else’s. You should know how painful it is for you to say those words; you’re conflicted and struggling inside. Unsure whether the decisions you make are right or wrong, you gamble with destiny, hoping for fair treatment by fate. You want fate to acknowledge the love of your parents. But do you know? If it turns out they really do love you, would life still have meaning then? You don’t realize that if one day they actually proved this truth to you, but in the process, you lost them forever, would that be worth it?

It’s enough to say some things; there’s no need to make others go to great lengths to prove themselves, as it would only make them suffer. They would endure hardships over and over again. You don’t want your parents to suffer or to live in such hardship and pain. You understand, once some things happen, there’s no way to undo them. You’re just testing the limits of what your parents can do for you!

If your parents really proved to the whole world how much they love you, do you think there’d be joy left in the world? Have you ever considered what kind of life you truly want, what kind of pain and consequences your decisions would bring upon you? Have you really thought it all through? To prove oneself without considering the consequences only burdens one with a heavy sense of guilt for life. And if something happens to them because they tried to prove themselves to you, how could your heart ever be happy or at ease? After all, they are your parents. Deep down, you never intended for them to prove anything; you’re only trying to find some balance in your heart.”

”I have to admit, you truly understand me. It’s no wonder you’re my wife. But my parents never understood me. They never grasped the meaning behind my words or knew what I wanted to do. They couldn’t feel the pain in my heart or understand the love I once yearned for. They only knew that their decisions couldn’t change the inevitable outcome. They never considered changing for my sake. But when I hear your words, I’m truly grateful to the heavens for giving me the fairest treatment—letting me marry you and have such a wonderful son. Perhaps the biggest mistake of my life was having such parents, yet I couldn’t choose who they were. It was destiny that I would lose them and come to you, my beloved. It all made me realize that the heavens are indeed fair—they give me one thing but make me lose another. I have lived a tired life, but with you, I’m at ease because you understand me best.

Even if the whole world abandoned me, I would never abandon you. If I lost everything but still had you by my side, that would be enough for me. I could retreat to the mountains with you, and together, we could watch our child grow into a worry-free adult. He would learn that the most important thing in the world isn’t anything else but his own family. As long as you have family, you can live without anything else, knowing what outcome and benefits will come in the end. That’s what matters most!”
