My Alleged Husband

Chapter 661: Chapter 637: The Return of the Parents_2

Now all I know is hate, my vision has been clouded by resentment. I don’t know if my heart is still capable of love, and all I focus on is how to find my parents and give them a piece of my mind. Why did they abandon me without saying goodbye? Why do they keep coming back to provoke me, only to have me cruelly left here again? What do they consider me lately? Is it really that hard for them to spend more time with their own son? Is their repeated abandonment and departure an act of evasion? Am I truly so dreadful? I am their own flesh and blood, yet their constant thought of avoidance breaks my heart deeply.”

”Let’s not talk about this now. If one day your parents come back to you, I hope you won’t hate them. If they choose to come back, it shows that they still have you, their own child, in their hearts. If you choose to hate them, what would that make them feel as parents? They are also human and yearn for understanding from their own child. The decisions they made were out of necessity. I hope you can understand and stop pushing them away repeatedly, letting them drift out there, unable to return home. Deep down, you still wish they would come back, no matter the reason. As long as they’re at home with you, that’s enough. Am I right?” said Elder Zhang.

Zhang Zhentian fell silent. In his heart, he wished he could forgive his parents, but his pride refused to allow it easily. Why should he keep forgiving the same mistakes over and over? In their eyes, I was never considered as their child. Now they say they’ll come back, but where do I fit into this? Is this still their home? They’ve been gone for so many years, never treating me as their son. So this shouldn’t be their home anymore. What does it mean if they return now?

...Two days later

Old Master Zhang and his grandson had a thorough discussion over the past two days.

After two days, Zhentian came home with Xia Jing, and Elder Zhang smiled broadly when Zhang Yichen returned.

Old Master Zhang knew that this outcome might be for the best. His own parents had come back and should communicate properly with his son, deciding what to do next without hurting the sincere feelings between them. However, no one knew if the child could withstand such a shock. His parents’ sudden return had caught him off guard, making him feel even worse and more conflicted. He didn’t know how to address his parents.

After being away for so many years, they just come back as if nothing happened? What does this make me, their own child, and this family? They’re ready to come home after roaming around enough? Is our home simply a refuge? Our home has never taken anyone in. If they really wanted to come home, why did they leave in the first place, why act willfully, why disregard everyone’s feelings? Why make their own child’s heart break, hurt himself over and over, and not treat him as their son. Now they say they’ll come back again, what does that mean? Is it just to appease me? But I won’t fall for it. The bitterness and tears I’ve shed will have to be faced someday, so why make it all so terrible and hard to accept over and over again?

Seeing his son standing there, refusing to call him ’Dad’, Zhang Zhentian felt painful. But he knew that he had caused this situation, and there was nothing he could do—just endure the disregard of his son. Perhaps this is the greatest pain for a parent. His son stood right in front of him, yet he was powerless to embrace him or say a single word!
