My Alleged Husband

Chapter 662: Chapter 637: The Return of Parents_3

”Yichen, have you been well all these years? Dad really misses you!”

”I’m sorry, but please don’t say things like that. I don’t even know who you are, so how can you say you miss me? Since you chose to leave back then, don’t try to do these things now, and don’t say such words. Do you know how embarrassing that makes me feel?

When you chose to leave, you never considered how I would feel inside, nor did you think about the consequences I would face. You were always so unilateral in your decisions. Gao Mi had only you, so why now do you think of coming back to me? You never thought about the agony and turmoil in your son’s heart. Yet time and again, you’ve treated me as if I were invisible. What exactly am I to you? After treating me like this over and over, where have you placed me? I just wanted to live a happy life, to have my mom and dad by my side. For you, these were simple gestures, but for me, they were unattainable dreams throughout my life, because you never cared about the real pain and suffering in the heart of your own child. All you cared about was getting what you wanted, time and again. Do you know how much pain I have suffered these years? The heart-wrenching agony—can anyone understand why you treat me this way? I’m your biological son, is it really so hard to sacrifice a bit of your so-called freedom for me? All I wanted was a stable family life, but you ultimately shattered all my hope, time and again.

Sometimes, I really want to ask you if I am truly your biological son. Why do you do these things that leave me, who should have been your partner in marriage, clueless and unable to see through? Why do you keep hurting me, your biological son, over and over again? Why can’t you ever try to see things from my perspective, to consider the kind of life I want to have? Why do you keep hurting me like this as if I were your biological son? Who am I to you exactly? Am I your own, or just someone you picked up and said was yours, and after so many years, shouldn’t there be some affection? Yet, the children you adopted last year... they are treated better than me...”

It’s undeniable that Zhang Yichen’s words truly hurt his parents. As parents, they had never considered that their son might hate them one day, but now they finally understood. A small decision they made in the past had made their son hate them to the bone. What did all their sacrifices amount to? By abandoning their happiness and family for their freedom, they made their child despise them. Is this the happy life they wanted? Could such a life ever really be happy? Can anyone care about the immense pain and turmoil they feel as parents, watching their son stand in front of them, mocking them coldly and heatedly, with no words to refute, only enduring their son’s ridicule time and again?

And all of this was a result of their own making.
