My Alleged Husband

Chapter 648: Chapter 627 Discharge_1

”Grandpa, I know you’ve been eager to be discharged from the hospital. Rest assured, today you will definitely be leaving. I’ll make sure to handle all the discharge procedures as quickly as possible. Trust me, as long as you don’t get upset by anything once you’re home and you let go of the things that make you unhappy, you’ll never be in any danger again. I believe you can live a healthy life, and that’s the most important thing for your family. They don’t care how much help you offer them; what they care about is whether you can stay by their side. For a family, losing a loved one is very painful. No one wants to see their family members leave one after the other, and your family feels the same. That’s why I hope you can live a happy life. You are a good person, and I’ve truly enjoyed talking with you. You’ve given me a lot of ideas that no one else could, and you’ve strengthened my resolve to pursue a career in medicine. Maybe because of this, my life will take a different course. Everyone’s life is different, but I hope that when I come back here one day, Grandpa, you can still remember who I am and know that it was you who inspired me so much. I won’t let you down!”

Old Master Zhang smiled and didn’t say anything. He knew that the child before him was the kindest, and she understood what his outcome would be. In truth, they had both chosen an unspoken understanding, but who could truly act as if nothing had happened? No one in the world is perfect, and his heart was still in turmoil, still pained. He didn’t know what kind of life to choose, nor did he know if he should let go of his control over his family.

Thinking back on how he started from scratch and struggled to build such a large family business, he worked hard to provide his son with a worry-free life. Yet, in the end, it was his excessive interference that drove his children away. Deep down, he didn’t know what decisions to make to simplify everything. No one could understand the hardships involved.

Perhaps he really needed to let go completely, give up control of the family, and then everything could return to its original state. Then no one would have to be hurt anymore. For anyone, some things are indeed very sad, but some things have to be let go. If you never let go and never change, then what’s the purpose of living in this world? How much suffering has one endured in life?

With the achievements I have today, I worked day and night for the sole purpose of allowing my children and grandchildren to live happily without being bullied by anyone. With the temptation of economic wealth, I was ultimately defeated by time. Time has aged me and I am now beyond the point where I can control everything.

I also don’t know how my family will treat me in the end. No one knows what path I will eventually take. Perhaps it’s time for a change, time to stop relentlessly clinging to the same issue, which has truly exhausted my family.

Seeing my family hurt over and over again because of my actions, how could my heart not ache, how could it not be in pain? But in the end, I could only choose to remain silent because they know I am their family. No matter what I say or what decision I make, in their eyes, it’s just as important. They keep making concessions so as not to lose me!

...

Zhang Yichen received a call from the hospital informing him that his grandpa could be discharged. He was overjoyed; this was what Grandpa had always wanted. Now that the doctor had finally agreed to discharge Grandpa, his heart must be filled with joy and excitement. He decided to put aside all his work to pick up Grandpa because nothing mattered more to him than his grandpa. It was his grandpa who had given him a second chance at life, and made his current success possible. Gratitude was the only option.

”Grandpa, I’m really happy that you can be discharged today. You’ve always wanted this, and now you can fulfill your wish. When we get home, I will be there for you. I can put aside everything because having you live happily means more to me as your grandson than anything else. I don’t care about anything, but you are my biological grandpa, how could I not care? It was you who made me who I am today, who nurtured me step by step, who sent me to study abroad!

I know what you want to say, Grandpa. You don’t have to apologize to me. The hardships I endured during training are the life path I chose for myself, because only then could I become the strongest in life. I want all those who looked down on me, who laughed at me, to know that I am better than them. They have no right to mock me because my life is more exciting than theirs, I have what they don’t, and everything they lack, I possess. With such a life, why shouldn’t I be proud? And my life is the result of my own efforts, my own step-by-step journey.

Everything I have now did not come through shortcuts; I achieved today’s success through my own hard work and sweat. I have no regrets, and I just hope you can live happily in the future. That’s more important to me than anything. I’m not one for sweet talk, but I hope you can believe me, Grandpa, that I will fulfill any promise I make and carry out anything I commit to, at all costs!”

”Silly child, Grandpa will never blame you because you are Grandpa’s greatest pride!”
