My Alleged Husband

Chapter 622: Chapter 601: Let’s Get Divorced!_1

Ran Zhihan found himself truly at a loss, no matter what he said or did, his husband would not trust him. If that was the case, why should he continue chasing after something here? In the end, wouldn’t he still be the one who got hurt?

The more he thought about it, the more uncomfortable he felt. He had given so much to this family, only to be treated in such a way. He had never even received fair treatment from himself, so what was there left to expect? What was the point in staying here? Did he really want to keep subjecting himself to humiliation by his husband, who saw him as nothing more than a gold-digging woman?

No, he absolutely could not let this happen, even if he was at his wit’s end. He couldn’t let such a misunderstanding continue. He had never cared about his wealth, and he had never known that he was from a wealthy family. He fell for him at first sight, but why, after so many years, did his husband still suspect him? The person who never doubted him before suddenly filled with suspicion—how could someone’s heart bear that? No one could accept such things happening to them, and no one in the world understood how much pain he had to endure for things to turn out this way.

”There’s no need to talk anymore, I’ve thought it through. We should get a divorce. Being with you, I have to admit, I was very happy. I experienced the happiest life ever, but it has come to this end. Thank you for getting that matter pushed aside, for letting it end without a complaint, and thank you for all you’ve done for me.

Maybe you think I’m ungrateful, but do you understand? A woman has her dignity too. Her heart cannot be insulted over and over again, and just stand there indifferently. You’ve insulted me repeatedly with your words—don’t you feel a shred of guilt in your heart? I am a human being too. You have your dignity as a man; don’t I have dignity as a woman?

You always want me to respect you, but have you ever respected me? Do you understand what kind of life I wanted? You never cared about what I wanted. You only know that what you’re doing is to make sure I’m well-fed and clothed. Do you really think that as a woman, being with her husband, all she cares about is a life without worries about food and clothing?”

”Isn’t that the case? How many women in the world aren’t like that? Don’t make yourself out to be so noble. Do you really think that without me, you could travel the world so easily? If you weren’t known as my wife, how could everything be so smooth for you?

I don’t expect you to be grateful, but at the very least, don’t betray me. People have hearts made of flesh; when you hurt me like this, doesn’t your heart feel any guilt at all?”

”Now you’re telling me hearts are made of flesh? Then what is your heart made of, stone? Do you really think I don’t feel the pain with every word you say? You can hurt me without restraint, so why should I always be compromising? I won’t be the one constantly humiliated anymore. The thing I regret most in my life is allowing you to insult me over and over again without standing up for myself. Maybe in your eyes, I’m just a woman you can casually insult, but I am a living person!

Since we can’t continue to live together, wouldn’t getting a divorce be better? Why create such awkward situations between us? Don’t worry about your grandfather; I won’t tell him we’re getting a divorce, and I won’t mention it to our son either. But there’s one thing you must know, no matter the outcome, my son must live with his mother. He’s the child I bore for ten months with hard labor, and I can’t let anyone else raise him. Such a thing would be like a drill to my heart. Whether you agree or not, I will take good care of my son!”

”So you really want to get a divorce. Tell me what conditions or benefits you want. Do you want a fortune, a villa, or a sports car? But I absolutely won’t let him stay by your side. You’re an unfit mother. You can betray your own husband, who knows if you’ll eventually abandon your own son? My patience has limits. Take advantage of the fact that I’m still willing to discuss this with you and tell me everything you want, or you’ll regret it!”

”I’ve already said it clearly, I don’t want anything. I wasn’t with you for your money from the start, so why would I want it now that I’m leaving? All I want is for my son to stay by my side. As his mother, I will surely treat my own son well. You call me morally corrupt, but what about you? Have you ever cared for your own son, being there for him? You always have him undergo devilish training when he’s just a child. Why should our son relive all the pain you’ve been through? Why can’t you just let him live a happy childhood free from hatred?

A person only has one childhood, yet you’ve built our son’s childhood on pain and hatred. You’re truly cruel. He’s your own son; how could your heart bear doing such things to him? What do you take him for, treating him with such cruelty? I simply can’t believe it!”

”This is something he has to go through in his lifetime. Since he chose this path, he cannot have any grievances in his life. If he ultimately decides to quit, then he does not deserve to be my son. I won’t have cowards in my house, and if he chooses to be one, I won’t keep him at home. I’ll send him abroad and make sure he never returns to his homeland.

You think I’m cruel, but don’t you see? By betraying me, you’ve hurt our love and violated all our vows. I hope you think it through well. If you choose a divorce, you will end up with nothing!”
