My Alleged Husband

Chapter 629: Chapter 608 Wife, Come Home with Me_1

Over the past few days, Zhang Yichen hadn’t seen Ran Zhihan, and he felt a bit uncomfortable. He hadn’t expected that his wife would really stand up to him this way.

In his inner world, no matter what trouble his wife encountered, she would absolutely not abandon him, especially when they had a son together. So why hadn’t she seen him for so many days? Did she really plan to leave this family and him? But did this foolish woman understand that once she left him, she would have nowhere to stand in this world? Even if the world were vast, she would find no refuge. Knowing full well that it was like a moth to the flame, self-destruction, why did she still do it? Did she really believe in her heart that he wasn’t trustworthy?

Old Master Zhang knew that his work with his granddaughter-in-law was nearly done; now it was time for his grandson to come and take her back home. There was no need for the two to be so at odds. Having an exit strategy was better than anything else. Why reach a point where one ends up with nothing?

”Zhihan, if you have thought it through, please make the right decision. Don’t keep going on blindly; it won’t do you any good. It will only complicate your feelings for each other more. You should really think about what you ought to do to put an end to this tangled relationship. Shouldn’t you consider how to act so that your son will never be disappointed in his mother?”

Ran Zhihan didn’t speak. She knew that whatever she said now was useless. Why repeat it again and again? Why not let her grandfather guide her instead? Perhaps that was the best approach for her. She should not push herself into a corner step by step. Everybody hoped to have an exit strategy, so why was she so resolute and never giving others a chance to understand her? Was this really good? In the end, wasn’t she just hurting herself?

Old Master Zhang made a phone call to his grandson, believing it was more important than anything else. While his grandson couldn’t let go of his pride, he must be looking for her all over the world by now. If as a grandfather, he didn’t step in quickly to help, the couple’s problems were bound to escalate. He couldn’t just sit by and do nothing. He had to ensure his grandson and his wife lived happily for the rest of his days.

”Yichen, do you really want to continue fighting with your wife? You are so intelligent; why can’t you understand what your heart truly feels? As a husband, you never consider her feelings, and you constantly doubt her. You distrust every word she says. How can she be wholeheartedly by your side at home? Aren’t you just heartlessly trying to drive her away?

Ask yourself, how have you felt these days without her at home? Your house is empty every day, without a soul in sight. Don’t you find that lonely? Your son has his own life to lead, his own devilish training every day, because he wants to prove to everyone that he is the greatest. And you, having endured the same trials, should understand and care for your wife and child’s feelings. Why do you treat your wife this way?

Your grandfather really shouldn’t interfere in your marriage, but I can’t bear to see you squabble any longer. I’m no saint; in fact, I’m just an old fool now. I haven’t had much time to be with you all your lives. Your parents chose to abandon our family; do you want your biological son to go through understanding his mother’s abandonment process again? You shouldn’t be so heartless. Your son needs a mother’s love; he’s only five years old!

Although your son’s childhood has been much happier than yours was, why aren’t you letting this happiness continue? He clearly has the chance at happiness, so why should we ruin his happy life? I don’t know if what your wife feels is the truth, but one thing I do know is that in her heart, she can’t bear to leave her son behind. No mother can disregard her own child or abandon them to fly far away, no mother can do that!”

”Grandfather, it’s not that I don’t understand everything you’re saying. But I just can’t tolerate that woman deceiving me time and again. I don’t know what she has told you, but I hope you understand that some things have happened that I can’t just brush aside. I am a man and should have my dignity. I can’t pretend nothing happened. All I want now is to live peacefully with my child. I don’t expect her to continue standing by my side, but I also beg her not to interfere in my life anymore.

I know what you want to say. Don’t worry, I’ll bring her back!”

Zhang Yichen hung up the phone and immediately rushed to the hospital. When he saw his wife by his grandfather’s bedside, his heart softened. That look in his eyes couldn’t be faked. He hadn’t expected his wife to come and stay with his grandfather under such pressure, and he was deeply moved. But he felt that some things still shouldn’t be so easily forgotten. They needed to be thoroughly discussed, and that had to be done at home with his wife. He couldn’t let his grandfather worry unnecessarily, especially not when he was just recovering from a serious illness.

”Why are you here?”

”Wife, let’s go home. Whatever issues we have, we should discuss them back at home. This isn’t the right place to talk. Besides, this is a hospital, a public place. We can solve our disputes slowly at home. You don’t need to stay with Grandfather here, no one is at home to cook for me. Let’s hurry back.”

Ran Zhihan was completely baffled. What was her husband playing at? Suddenly he wanted to take her home—but he had never taken the initiative to bring her home before...
