My Alleged Husband

Chapter 608: Chapter 587 Shut Up_1

”Do you think you’re still special to me now? Every single thing you did completely shattered my trust in you, do you really think we could go back to the kind of friendship we used to have?”

”You said it yourself, trust between friends should be mutual, but since you chose to manipulate my trust to exploit me, what right do you have to negotiate terms with me now? Your actions and every word you say are like a clown’s antics to me, I won’t trust you anymore because there’s nothing left in you worthy of my trust. You took advantage of me, treated me this way—why should I regard you as my truest friend? Do you even deserve to be my friend? After all we’ve been through together, is this really who you are?”

”I never cared whether you would ever trust me at all, but I never thought you would use me one day. I always believed that we could be the best of friends. Yet, the very moment you took advantage of me, I realized we couldn’t even be friends at all, let alone good ones. So, why bother? Let’s just live our separate lives in peace. You are already threatening me; I can’t keep someone who poses a threat to me by my side. It would leave me anxious and unable to rest.”

”In the end, aren’t you just scared? Aren’t you just afraid I will use you again? Aren’t you terrified that one day, you might fall for me? You just want to prove to your husband that there’s nothing between us, right?”

Ran Zhihan suddenly realized that no matter what she said, there was simply no way to communicate with this man before her. Some things she didn’t want to make explicit, yet he relentlessly forced her into painful decisions. Can’t her wishes be understood? Why treat her this way? What did she even mean to him in his eyes? Just an object to be used repeatedly? But she’s a living person with a soul that deserves respect and rights. Why does he have the right to do this?

”Regardless of my reasons for making this decision, you should at least know that there’s no possibility for anything between us anymore. You’ve hurt me, so why bother speaking empty words to comfort me? We really aren’t suitable for each other. Without trust, what’s the point? Besides, I already have my own family, my own children. Please don’t make me uncomfortable anymore?”

”Is it really me who’s made you look bad? Have you never considered the consequences of your actions? Do you have no idea who’s in the wrong here? After how you’ve hurt me, how could I ever consider you a true friend? I waited for you for so many years, yet you didn’t even offer an apology. Now you’re asking me not to embarrass you? Just who is making whom look bad? Why speak such heartless words? Do you really want us to turn irreconcilably hostile before you have peace of mind? Stop saying things that make it hard for both of us. If you feel threatened by me, then tell me honestly—if you really weren’t afraid I’d threaten you, why would you compromise with me? I don’t even know what to say to you, maybe those words would embarrass you, but you were truly in my heart!”

”Shut up, stop repeating these hurtful statements. They only cause more pain in my heart. So many things didn’t have to happen between us, but you just had to hurt my family in order to get back at me. How can I care about you now?

”Everyone should treat others as they’d like to be treated. Now that you’ve hurt me, I won’t treat you sincerely anymore. We all feel heartache, and since you’ve acted this way, why should I consider you important? I’m not a saint; I’m just a man who needs his beloved woman to treat him sincerely. But if you can’t be faithful to me, don’t forcefully require me not to betray you when we’re together!”

”In the end, my taking advantage of you has already been too much for your heart. But how is my heart supposed to bear the hurt you caused me? All these years, how I wished we could be together, but the reality slapped me hard in the face. When I returned, how did you treat me? Though I gained you through unfair means, I had no choice—I wanted you and wouldn’t let anyone take you from me. I just wanted you to stay by my side...”

”I told you to shut up, don’t bring up those disgusting words. You wouldn’t want me to retaliate with harsher ones. Everyone’s heart can hurt, and if you hurt mine, why should I sincerely treat you well? Everyone has a scar deep in their soul. How could you be sure that I had put in so much for you, and yet you—I have to say, back in school, I genuinely hoped we could be together, I indeed had a crush on you at the moment, but in the end, I realized it was impossible because we had too many differences.

Do you understand that each person’s inner world is unique? My inner world used to have a place for you, but because of the hurts you’ve caused, your existence has vanished, disappeared from my heart. All this destruction, you’ve done it to yourself—who else can you blame? Nobody owes you in this world. You have to face the consequences of your own actions. I can’t keep pining for you like I used to; when you left for abroad, I let go of you. I can’t be obsessed with you for a lifetime. All I want is to find someone who can journey through life with me, someone who won’t hurt or bully me, let alone use me. But you’ve done it all, do you think you’re still qualified to talk about loving me? Do you believe you still have the right to share a life with me?”
