My Alleged Husband

Chapter 635: 614 Chapter Stop Talking_1

Neither of them could have imagined that their once happiest marital relationship would become so difficult at this moment, impossible even to maintain its original state. Nobody expected this day to come so soon; in fact, people had plans in their hearts but never thought this day would suddenly, inexplicably, fall upon them, catching them off guard.

”Maybe that’s just life. When we face difficulties, we never know when disaster will strike. Maybe soon, maybe never. No one can decide for fate. Since today we have faced such tribulations that a husband and wife should not have to endure, then we can only choose to face them calmly. But I really can’t do it, I can’t just forgive you easily. My heart is in pain, torn. I have suffered too much hardship as well. You’ve never experienced it!”

Zhang Yichen really didn’t know how to communicate with his wife. A simple truth in his eyes was incomprehensible to her. Why must she twist everything? Issues that could be resolved with a single word from him were made so complicated, making it impossible for everyone to have peace.

”Do you really think that the decision you’re making now is for the good of our relationship? Do you really think that every word you’re saying now is considering our child? Not at all, in fact, you are the most selfish one. You are only thinking about your own desires, never considering what kind of life your child really wants. He chose to undergo devilish training just to prove to the world he is worthy of inheriting all my wealth.”

I understand that there is no mother who doesn’t love her child. Any mother would feel heartbroken at the slightest hurt to her child. But not every person has such maternal love. You can treat your son this way, and I’m really happy, especially since he is the fruit of our love. But do you know that sometimes a child might also go astray because of his mother’s indulgence? He is not a saint. A child is not always able to discern right from wrong, and he won’t know whether his actions are correct or not!”

”I know what you’re saying makes sense, and I know I can’t argue with you. But could you possibly spare me just this once? Can’t you stop bringing up the same issue over and over again? I’m really tired. I just want to live my own life in peace.

Can you give me a chance? Don’t make me live in this pain every day. I’m not a saint. I can’t bear hearing harsh words from the person I love most, time and again! I’m a woman too, and I long for my husband’s love!

Why can you men never understand the difficulty of being a wife? Why do you always have to hurt the person you love most in such a stubborn way? Don’t you realize that often the people you hurt the most are the wives who love you? How can you bear to see your wife cry again and again, while remaining indifferent?”

”Stop it. What do you think your words mean to me now? If you had known before, then why did you treat me like that? You never thought that you did wrong, which is why I acted that way. You always knew that you were mistreated by others, but did you ever think about how much your actions hurt others?

People respond to how they are treated. How you treat me is how I treat you; isn’t that normal? If you only enjoy the good done to you and remain indifferent while repeatedly hurting others, then tell me, do you think you deserve to live here? Don’t you find such a life exhausting? You’re only focused on whether I treat you well, but what about you? Are you fully committed to living with me? You’re not, are you? You’re always trying to deceive me. Is lying to me really the best thing for you? Do you really want to see me deceived again and again while I’m blithely happy about it?”

Ran Zhihan had been shaking her head, as if it were a rattle drum, unwilling to accept that she had never thought about him, never expected to end up like this. She just hoped to live a peaceful and joyful life with her husband, to care for the home and teach their son. Was that really so hard?

Why has this year brought her one ordeal after another, especially lately? She could hardly understand why her husband treated her this way when all she did, as a mother, was consider her son’s health. Yet her son still chose to continue the grueling training.

How could she, as a mother, not worry, and how could her heart be at peace?

”Yichen, let’s not talk anymore. Let’s bury the hatchet right now, not holding onto the past, and start afresh from this moment. Let’s return to our initial happiness. If you’re willing, let’s go home. If you’re not, that’s fine too. I won’t insist on having a man who doesn’t love me stay by my side. You should know how much I care about our happiness together. That’s so important for a woman. I can’t stand having a husband who faces me with a cold expression every day and refuses to even glance at me. Do you know how hard that is for me?”

Zhang Yichen’s heart was already set on returning to their initial life, and hearing his wife take a step back at this moment, why wouldn’t he agree? He wasn’t the kind of man who liked to put on airs. Since his wife had already spoken in such a way, he might as well come down the ladder gracefully. Why make it awkward for both of them?

”Zhihan, of course, I’m willing. I’ve always hoped we could continue to live together. Since you’ve said we should bury the hatchet, then why should I hold on? Being stubborn isn’t my forte, and I’m not going to be foolish like those who expect their women to always grovel. So, rest assured, I should be able to do it. To love you properly!”
