”Roar!”

With a dragon’s roar, Haxorus’s tail lit up with a brilliant white glow.

With a single sweeping strike, the massive boulder in front of it shattered instantly under the overwhelming force, exploding into countless fragments that scattered in all directions.

[So strong!]

[If that hit a person, they’d probably respawn instantly.]

[Haxorus: Did you learn it?]

[Why do I feel like Haunter is watching even more seriously than Pikachu…]

Before coming to Hongjingpo Forest, Chen Mo’s original goal hadn’t been to search for people, but to find a wild Pokémon that knew Iron Tail, so Pikachu could learn the move.

Although various unexpected events had delayed things, it turned out to be a blessing in disguise. Within the Axew tribe, there were quite a few Pokémon that knew Iron Tail.

Chen Mo had already confirmed this using his Detection Eye.

When he made the request, the Axew tribe—already fond of humans—didn’t refuse. The three Haxorus even took the initiative to help Pikachu train.

”Roar! Roar roar!”

”Pika…”

After several demonstrations and encouragement from the Haxorus, Pikachu—who had failed multiple times—stood before a rock, took a deep breath, and steadied itself.

”Pika—!”

The yellow figure leapt high into the air, flipping midair.

Everyone held their breath.

The next second—

A white glow wrapped around Pikachu’s lightning-shaped tail.

”Chu!!!”

The Iron Tail came crashing down onto the rock.

With a crisp crack, fractures spread from the point of impact, widening rapidly until the rock split cleanly in two.

”It worked!”

The three people beside Chen Mo lit up with excitement.

The Axew in Mo Yu’s arms clapped happily.

”Keh!”

Haunter floated over immediately, grabbing Pikachu and lifting it high into the air before it could even react, its eyes curved into happy crescents—more excited than if it had learned the move itself.

”Finally succeeded…”

Chen Mo smiled as he watched.

Pikachu’s main difficulty with Iron Tail had been controlling energy and technique. While the Haxorus weren’t masters of the move, their experience was more than enough to guide Pikachu.

After thanking the three Haxorus, Chen Mo checked the time and prepared to leave the Axew tribe’s territory with the three who had wandered in.

”Mo-ge… can we really not come back here anymore?”

Although Axew were adorable, their constant climbing and jumping had nearly shaken Ah Hui’s bones apart.

But now that it was time to leave, he suddenly felt reluctant—especially with the possibility of never seeing them again.

”These little guys are just too cute… only slightly less cute than my Caterpie,” he muttered.

Chen Mo smiled. ”Not necessarily. But entry will likely be restricted. We’ll have to see what the Bureau decides.”

Ah Hui nodded silently.

Nearby, the flat-headed young man hesitated before stepping forward.

”Mo-ge… can we stay a bit longer?”

He glanced toward Mo Yu, who was saying goodbye to the Axew with the broken tooth.

The little Axew clung tightly to her pants, unwilling to let go.

Its father—the young Haxorus who had guided them—was the only one besides the elder Haxorus who had traveled with a human before. Because of that, its child held an especially high fondness for humans.

And since Mo Yu was the first human it had met, its attachment to her was even stronger.

In their original world, this Axew would have already followed her on a journey.

But this world was different.

The young Haxorus hesitated.

It knew too well—this world held far more danger for humans and Pokémon alike.

”Axew!”

”Hey… don’t cry anymore. I’ll come back to see you,” Mo Yu said softly.

”Axew…”

”I promise. Even if entry is restricted, I’ll work hard to qualify and come back. Just wait for me, okay?”

She gently pried its tiny claws off her pants.

She really liked this Axew.

But since its family wasn’t willing to let it go yet, she could only let go—for now.

Still, she wouldn’t give up.

One day, she would return and earn their trust.

At that moment, the elder Haxorus’s voice echoed in Chen Mo’s mind:

”Do you need my help?”

As the leader, it could easily override the young Haxorus’s decision.

But Chen Mo shook his head.

Some choices had to be made by them.

When they finally left, many Axew followed them a long distance before being called back.

”Goodbye, little ones.”

Just as they waved—

The Axew with the broken tooth suddenly ran forward again, holding something.

”Axew!”

It handed Mo Yu its broken tooth.

”This… is for me?”

”Axew!”

After handing it over, it ran back to its father.

The Haxorus gave Mo Yu one last look before leading the tribe away.

The livestream exploded with comments:

[So it’s like a promise token?]

[Does this mean she can take Axew in the future!?]

[I’m jealous. I want an Axew too…]

Mo Yu looked at the tooth, smiling brightly.

”A promise…”

”Thank you for trusting me!”

In the distance, a Haxorus roared in response.

Chen Mo blinked.

…Wait.

Did that mean his ”made-up explanation” was actually true?

Afterward, Chen Mo led the group back to the flower field, retrieving their belongings under the watchful eyes of the Beedrill.

”Don’t scare people like that next time,” Chen Mo said with a smile.

Beside him—

Pikachu crackled with electricity.

Pidgeotto circled overhead.

Haunter popped in and out like a ghost.

The Beedrill trembled.

”Buzz…”

We just chased them out… was that really so wrong…?

Meanwhile, the group behind Chen Mo looked extremely satisfied.

”Feels amazing having Mo-ge backing us!”

”Yeah, this totally makes up for earlier!”

That night, they returned to Anping City.

Before parting, everyone expressed their gratitude.

It was clear—

They loved Pokémon.

And they loved Chen Mo’s broadcasts.

Back home, Chen Mo opened the door—

—and found Absol lying on the living room carpet.

It glanced at him… then lowered its head again.

Something felt off.

Using Detection Eye, Chen Mo saw emotions like self-doubt, frustration, anxiety, confusion.

”What’s wrong?”

Absol didn’t answer—just walked back to its hut.

”…What happened while I was gone?”

Chen Mo was baffled.

Just then, his phone rang.

It was Professor Zhou.

They had finalized a plan—

Hongjingpo Forest would be divided into:

Protected Zone (Axew territory, restricted access)Central Zone (controlled exploration area with safety support)Outer Zone (open access)

Access permits would be required for the protected area.

Mo Yu would receive one—thanks to the ”tooth of trust.”

Chen Mo nodded.

This was essentially a real-world version of a Safari Zone.

Before ending the call, Chen Mo made another suggestion:

Distribute starter Pokémon from the ecological park to qualified individuals.

Professor Zhou agreed—

But the standards would be extremely strict.

As the call ended, Zhou added:

”We’re close to solving the final issues with Poké Ball development.”

Chen Mo froze.

His long-awaited goal—

Poké Balls for trainers… were almost ready.
