Many viewers, watching from their screens, were puzzled when they saw Chen Mo suddenly stand up and pick up a large gray-black scale.

[Whoa, what is that? That thing’s huge.]

[A fish scale?]

[That definitely doesn’t look like a fish scale…]

[I stick to one rule: if I don’t understand something, I ask. Since Teacher Mo picked it up, he must know something.]

Glancing at the chat, Chen Mo held the familiar-feeling scale and calmly shook his head.

”I’m not sure either,” he said without missing a beat. ”But it feels like it might be a scale shed from some large Pokémon.”

Professor Zhou had repeatedly warned him not to reveal anything about Arceus or Zekrom.

And Chen Mo, already cautious by nature, had no intention of exposing the true origin of the scale.

Still…

To find another Zekrom scale here—

That was surprising.

Is my luck finally turning around?

Honestly, even though this journey was meant to track down Zekrom, Chen Mo hadn’t held much hope.

Even after arriving at the river where Axew’s tribe once found a scale, he hadn’t expected any real results.

But now—

This was already the second scale found in the same region.

”But… what exactly happened here?”

As Chen Mo stored the scale in his bag, he fell into thought.

He recalled his conversation with the elderly Haxorus.

And the murals he had seen in the Arceus ruins.

In that other world—

After destroying the Kingdom of Arceus,

Zekrom had vanished completely.

For a thousand years—

Only legends remained.

And considering—

Zekrom had resisted the call of its shell

And expended part of its power during that destruction—

Chen Mo couldn’t help but feel uneasy.

Was there something wrong with Zekrom all along?

Lost in thought—

A cold breeze brushed past him.

He snapped back to reality.

Before him—

A massive cave entrance.

”Ham!” ”Woopa!” …

The Quagsire lined up and entered one by one.

As they moved deeper—

The light faded.

[This is giving horror movie vibes…]

[I swear something’s gonna grab the camera]

[Nah this is the best part—exploration!]

Chen Mo took out a flashlight—

But then—

The Quagsire began to glow.

[They’re glowing!?]

[THEY HAVE BECOME LIGHT]

[LMAO]

[Even the Wooper are glowing!]

Chen Mo smiled.

”That’s a move called Flash.”

”It produces light using energy.”

”It’s not useful in battle, but perfect for caves like this.”

The cave brightened.

The eerie feeling vanished.

”Ham~”

The Quagsire waited for him.

”They’re doing this for me…”

Chen Mo chuckled.

”Thanks.”

”Ham~”

Cute creatures.

Suddenly—

A sharp, high-frequency sound echoed.

Before Chen Mo could react—

A swarm of dark shapes swooped down.

”Buzz—!”

A small purple bat Pokémon descended, glaring angrily.

”Noibat.”

”Ham…”

Quagsire responded apologetically.

The others immediately stopped using Flash.

But Noibat kept scolding them.

Quagsire bowed repeatedly.

Eventually—

The Noibat left with its group.

”Ham…”

Quagsire sighed in relief.

Then—

It returned to Chen Mo’s side—

Providing just enough light.

”No problem,” Chen Mo said.

”This is enough.”

He lowered his voice.

”That was Noibat—a nocturnal Pokémon.”

”They rest during the day, so the bright light disturbed them.”

As they continued—

Chen Mo noticed something strange.

Holes.

Everywhere.

Walls. Ceiling. Ground.

”These aren’t natural…”

The group stopped.

Quagsire called out softly—

Toward the darkness ahead.

Chen Mo activated Aura Vision.

There—

A small creature lay in the path.

Round, snake-like body.

Tiny wings.

Drill-like tail.

Chen Mo stepped forward—

Shined his light.

The creature panicked.

It flapped—

Crashing into the wall—

Then—

Drilled straight into it.

Gone.

[WHAT WAS THAT!?]

[I saw wings!]

[So fast!!]

[Those holes were made by THAT!?]

Chen Mo smiled.

”That was Dunsparce.”

”It lives in caves and is extremely timid.”

”With even a small disturbance, it drills away and escapes.”

”These holes are likely made by a whole group of them.”

Chat exploded.

[Dunsparce… sounds like it should evolve]

[Where’s its evolution!?]

[That name screams ’baby form’]

Chen Mo shook his head.

”It doesn’t evolve.”

”It’s a Normal-type Pokémon.”

[NO WAY]

[You’re kidding]

[Look at those wings!]

”Maybe one day we’ll discover more,” Chen Mo added.

”But for now—no evolution.”

Soon—

They reached a wide underground chamber.

Ahead—

Dozens of Quagsire gathered near an underground river.

And beneath them—

Eggs.

”…So this is their nesting ground.”

Chen Mo frowned slightly.

”Why bring me here…?”

Then—

The cave lit up again.

And—

Chen Mo froze.

Scattered across the ground—

Gray-black dragon scales.
