If you left Anping City and went to any other city in the country, randomly stopping ten people on the street to ask:

”What are magical beasts?”

Most of them would nod, and some could even go on at length about it.

But if you asked:

”What are Pokémon?”

At least half of them would look confused. The quicker ones might even respond:

”Do you mean those elves from Western mythology? Pointy ears, bows and arrows, blonde hair, blue eyes?”

This… was the power of ingrained perception.

Ever since Pokémon appeared in this world, humans had grown accustomed to calling them ”magical beasts” or ”monsters.”

As for the term ”Pokémon,” it was only spreading within a small circle.

Even Chen Mo’s fans outside Anping City still mostly used ”magical beasts” in daily conversation.

In fact, the authorities themselves were a major reason the term ”magical beasts” had become so unified nationwide.

However—

In early May, people across the country noticed something strange.

News anchors had suddenly started using the word ”Pokémon” instead of ”magical beasts.”

Soon after, people discovered that the Magical Beast Research Bureau had officially changed its name.

It was now—

Pokémon Research Bureau.

Combined with what had already happened in Anping City…

Everyone realized one thing:

Change was coming.

Pokémon Cabin Chat Group

[Something big happened!!!]

[We’re all adults here. If it’s not spicy content, don’t waste our time.]

[You mean the Hongjing Slope Forest being sealed off?]

[Yeah, it’s being developed into a planned zone. Soon we can go there under official protection to capture Pokémon.]

[Isn’t that a good thing?]

[And it’s open nationwide this time, not just Anping City!]

[Finally! I wanted to go last time but was worried about safety. Anyone want to team up?]

[No, not that. Look at this post.]

A link followed.

The buzzcut young man clicked it.

A bold title appeared:

”’Pokémon Education’? No—A Traitor to Humanity!”

The post accused Chen Mo (”Mo Bao”) of:

Gaining massive popularity through Pokémon contentClaiming Pokémon were harmlessMisleading the public during a time of crisis

Then it shared a personal story:

The poster’s uncle, a forest ranger, had been attacked by a Pokémon.

Several colleagues died.

The uncle survived—but lost a leg.

”Pokémon are harmless? Is that something a human would say?”

”No—this ’Mo Bao’ is a traitor to humanity!”

”Pokémon are killers. We cannot coexist with them!”

”My uncle’s faith in the authorities has collapsed…”

”What kind of world is this—where we’re told to live alongside murderers?”

”This is a broken world. A dying world.”

At the bottom—

Photos, records, and evidence supported the uncle’s story.

The incident was real.

The comment section exploded:

”This Mo Bao is disgusting!””The authorities are pushing him?””Pokémon are invaders!””Traitor!”

There were some rational voices—

But they were drowned out.

The chat group erupted:

[He never said Pokémon are harmless!]

[People aren’t even listening!]

[They’ve taken over the comment sections!]

[Some Pokémon ARE dangerous, but not all!]

[I’m so pissed!]

[…I get why the OP feels that way, though…]

[Will Mo Bao stop streaming because of this?]

The buzzcut youth called Ah Hui.

”Do you know what’s going on with Mo?”

”I just saw him,” Ah Hui replied.

”He’s fine. Still planning his next trip.”

”…What?”

”At a time like this, shouldn’t he lay low?”

Ah Hui sighed.

”He said—he didn’t do anything wrong. Why should he hide?”

”If it’s a storm… let it come harder.”

And indeed—

Chen Mo was calm.

From the beginning until now—

He had always been criticized.

This was just everything erupting at once.

He had already prepared himself.

He also agreed with the official decision.

Changing ”magical beasts” to ”Pokémon” wasn’t just about terminology—

It was about perception.

”Magical beasts” implied violence and fear.

But most people didn’t actually understand Pokémon.

Their impressions came from:

The nameNegative news

Now—

The government was trying to correct that.

Of course—

This inevitably hurt those who had suffered because of Pokémon.

That pain wouldn’t disappear.

It was a shadow of the era.

All Chen Mo could do—

Was keep educating.

To help this gray era pass sooner.

Meanwhile—

He looked at the next destination on his screen.

His expression turned serious.

The aged Haxorus’s words echoed in his mind.

The regret.

The stories.

The weight of the title—

”Hero of Ideals.”

At first, it felt exciting.

Now—

It felt heavy.

If possible—

He wanted to find Zekrom immediately.

To tell it:

The chosen boy had simply lost his wayBut he tried, with his final life, to seek forgivenessOthers had spent their entire lives searching for it

Their regrets.

Their persistence.

So—

That forest.

Even if danger loomed—

He had to go.

”Yes… I’m going.”

He made his decision.

Just then—

His phone rang.

Ah Hui.

”Mo! Check the video I sent you—this one’s huge!”

That evening—

Across all platforms—

A two-hour documentary was released nationwide.

Even broadcast on television.

It began with a black screen:

”This is an unfortunate era.

Our choices will determine the world our children live in.”

Then:

”Where did they come from?

What is their purpose?”

The screen lit up—

A forest.

Empty.

Then—

A small purple rodent-like creature appeared.

It ran—

Then stopped.

Confused.

Lost.

Scene after scene—

Pokémon appeared across different environments:

GrasslandsForestsOceans

All of them—

Confused.

Cautious.

Uncertain.

They weren’t invaders by choice.

They had no control over their arrival.

Many viewers fell silent.

”…They look pitiful,” a younger brother said.

”Pitiful?” his older brother snapped.

”They’ve killed people.”

The screen cut—

To a snowy mountain.

Armed officers patrolled.

Then—

A red-eyed creature lunged.

Gunshots.

Screams.

A massacre.

The younger brother trembled.

The older brother clenched his fists.

”See? That’s what they are.”

Then—

Another scene.

A crying woman:

”My husband… was bitten to death…”

Anger surged—

Until—

The footage shifted.

Surveillance video.

A courtyard.

A man beating a small purple Pokémon with a stick.

Again.

And again.

Trying to escape—

Blocked.

Beaten.

Again.

The older brother froze.

”…What is this?”

The narrative… had changed.

🌟 The story is already written… waiting to be unleashed.
