The Misfortune Adventure Of Dimensional Chat Group Owner

”We finally found you... Est...”

...

Seeing the white crystal with ’dark’ hue locked inside a metal-glasses jar, soaked in water and connected to many pipes that channeled its energy, both Kaito and all the chat group members who were watching from the broadcast did not doubt that this was what they were looking for.

Especially Kaito, who had mastered the third method, could feel that the object in front of him was Est’s soul fragment mixed with the ”bad luck” curse left over from his fight with Gilgamesh.

...

”Please be careful, Kaito...” Yuu suggested with concern, ”Something is not right with the fragment.”

”I understand.”

...

The moment Kaito tried to pry what’s going on in it, the ”curse” also seemed to notice Kaito’s presence and reacted violently.

Suddenly, the white crystal flashes repeatedly in dark hue  as the curse multiplying itself desperately producing extreme amount of energy, like trying to fight back knowing Kaito is here to ’erase’ it!

*BLINK*

*BLINK*

*BLINK*

...!!!

”Kaito!”

Aware of the current dire situation, Kaito, Yuu, and the chat group members who were watching from the broadcast panicked because they could see something was wrong with it.

”I will take care of it!”

With the third method, Kaito could see what was happening in the Est soul fragment and know exactly what he needed to do right now.

*Flash*

To prevent a critical accident, Kaito quickly teleported to the front of the Est soul fragment crystal container and destroyed it with a single punch imbued with Armament Haki.

*BAMM*

After that, Kaito quickly grabbed the contaminated white crystal with his right hand, activated Imagine Breaker to cleanse/absorb the curse in the fragment.

*Crash*

...!!

And soon enough, the energy level quickly dropped to zero, and the accident was prevented perfectly. Thanks to his perfect response, nothing is happening... and sure enough, the chat group system quickly gave everyone a notification that made everyone feel relieved.

*DING*

=====

[One Est soul fragment in the High School of the Dead world has been collected.]

=====

*Flash*

After making sure the fragment is clean and safe to store in inventory, Kaito then teleported back to Yuu’s side at the entrance of the room with a relaxed feeling, especially knowing that everything is over.

”Alright, that was close...”

Kaito teleported back to Yuu’s side while breathing out in relief, ”Let’s get out of here, Yuu... We are done, here.”

”Umm... are you okay?”

Yuu asked with a concerned tone, ”Everyone in the chat group is also concerned about your situation.”

”I am okay... Indeed, it was really dangerous, but the situation now is under control.”

”What happened? I can tell the energy level is suddenly rising in this room.”

”Yeah. What is happening is that... the curse of my misfortune attached to Est’s soul fragment seems to be aware of our presence and seems to make a last effort to fight back by generating a massive amount of energy in a very short time.”

”If we let it do it, I have no doubt the whole building is going to explode.”

...!!!

”Is the curse sentient? Have intelligence?” Yuu continued, asking with concern, ” Is the curse afraid of both of us?”

”No. It is specifically afraid of me... ” Kaito answered while shrugging, ”Which I guess makes sense since I have Imagine Breaker on me.”

”Ah.. I see.”

Hearing Kaito’s clear answer, both Yuu and the chat group members were not surprised that the curse was afraid of Kaito’s right hand, Imagine Breaker. After all, it’s the antithesis of all supernatural things, which also includes many forms of curses.

...They didn’t know that Kaito didn’t answer Yuu honestly... out of concern for the situation right now.

As someone who could see souls with the third method and familiar with his curse, Kaito could see that the curse wasn’t afraid of Imagine Breaker, but of himself.

Kaito already knew that the curse that was related to his existence was not ordinary at all, but a strong curse at level 8 peak strength.... yet, isn’t it ridiculous that Kaito was perfectly fine living his life until now? (Unless you count his unlucky life, which was a side effect of the curse).

Kaito also could tell you that the curse entity was afraid of his existence, clearly didn’t want to return to Kaito’s body whatsoever... and rather chose to get destroyed by with Imagine Breaker.

These facts gave rise to a terrifying theory in his mind.

...That he might be designed to be a special container for this terrifying misfortune curse, by some omnipotent being from the beginning of his reincarnation, which might be the price for getting a second chance at living.

>>>>>

After securing the Est soul fragment, Kaito escorted Yuu back to their base at Private Fujimi Academy. Shortly after that, Kaito himself also returned to the black bullet world, back to the apartment he rented with Fuse Midori.

Because the earlier event was so sudden and abrupt, Kaito did not have time to say goodbye to Midori, who was sleeping soundly in his arms before teleportation.

When Kaito appeared again inside the room, Midori, who noticed his presence, immediately jumped at him with feelings of anxiety and grief.

...!!

”Uhhhh... Kait0-san! Don’t disappear without a word! I was worried that you wanted to abandon me...”

”Sorry... I had urgent business.”

Looking at crying Midori in his embrace, Kaito gave her a headpat while telling her an excuse, ”Earlier, I was meeting a friend and I couldn’t bring the kids there.”

”Mm... What kind of place?”

”A bar.”

”...Master, do you think I’m stupid?”

”Eh?”

Midori bit her lip and her cat ears stood up, expressing her anger, ”Master, you need to be 18 to enter a place like that, and you look like a 15-year-old teenager.”

”There’s no way you would do business in that kind of place!”

”...Ah.”

After being educated by Erina, Aika, and Manaka at a special school for cursed children, Fuse Midori understands the norms and common sense of society, making her smarter and less easily fooled by others.

Hearing Midori’s answer, Kaito felt proud and sad at the same time. Proud, because Midori had become smarter and understood common sense-- then sad, because Midori still couldn’t believe that he was over 18 years old (even though his body stayed at 15). In the end, for Midori to forgive him, Kaito promises to buy her an expensive popular toy at the mall later for her and Enju so they can play together.

Luckily, for Kaito, who can make anything, money is just a number that he can make up at any time.

>>>>>

After reassuring Midori and the Kisara and Rentaro duo that he was fine (they were apartment neighbors, so they knew what happened), Kaito was finally able to calm down. Thankfully, not long after, Enju invited Midori to play with her in Rentaro’s apartment, so Kaito was finally able to open the chat group again in peace.

Thanks to the announcement in the chat group about Kaito’s success in collecting the first Est soul fragment... At the moment, every chat group member who rarely opens it due to being busy was now online, learning about what happened in the High School of the Dead world.

=====

[Owner]: ”Finally, I have time to log in again. It took me a while to convince them that I was okay, especially Midori, who was very clingy.”

[Queen of Sekirei]: ”Did you get scolded?”

[Sekirei Number 3]: ”Did she get preachy with you?”

[Railgun Girl]: ”Maybe he gets beaten by her?”

[Mage of Exodus]: ”I wouldn’t be surprised if that’s the case.”

[Owner]: ”???”

Looking at everyone’s reaction in the chat group, Kaito expressed his confusion-- how did they know that, since right now they are making fun of him?

[Mage of Exodus]: ”Pffft... we already know that. After all, Sakuya is reporting to us here since Rentaro and Kisara are also calling her when you disappeared.”

[Scarlet Devil Headmaid]: ”I am sorry that I couldn’t help you earlier, master. I was having a class to teach in the base during the time you were venturing to the High School of the Dead world.”

[Owner]: ”It’s okay, I am not blaming you... Just my bad luck. If anything, I feel bad because I am not teaching those girls anything.”

Learning Sakuya’s reasoning, Kaito honestly feels bad. These days, he’s not visiting the base as often as he used to be, hence he barely played with those cursed children.

...

[Root Princess]: ”Yet, you remain popular among children. As expected of Kaito-kun.”

[Mage of Exodus]: ”Maybe, he has a physique that loli are automatically attracted to.”

[Owner]: ”Stop slandering me... Let’s talk about the Est soul fragment I just got.”

Even though they were slandering him, Kaito was also happy to see the members having fun in the group chat, bantering with each other.  However, he didn’t have much time until Midori returned from playing with Enju, so Kaito wanted them to get straight to the point.

...

[Mage of Exodus]: ”Sure... then, how is it? Is the fragment okay, does it have a problem?”

[Owner]: ”It’s okay. With Imagine Breaker, I was able to clean it before moving it to inventory.”

[Necromancer]: ”Glad to hear that.”

[Railgun Girl]: ”It wouldn’t be funny if he were blown up.”

[SAO Blacksmith]: ”Indeed.”

[Owner]: ”Ah, you are here too, Rika. How is the protagonist team? I didn’t have time to take a look at them. Thanks for your service.”

[SAO Blacksmit]: ”It was okay. Everyone manages to clean the zombie easily with their new weapon, and nothing exciting happens.”

[Owner]: ”Good to know. At least, in a way, because your action of getting along with the protagonist, indirectly, we manage to find Est’s first soul fragment.”

[Mage of Exodus]: ”Maybe there’s a correlation, who knows? But consider it work, let’s continue getting along with the protagonist of each world.”

[Baroque Works Leader]: ”Don’t worry, the entire protagonist group is soon working under me. I will also have them check Imperial Capital soon, to see if they were hiding Est’s soul fragment in that city.”

[Owner]: ”And I also successfully joined the protagonist group and got along with them. I might start looking at the Tendo residence and the secret government building in Tokyo to see whether they were hiding it too.”

[Root Princess]: ”Good call. After all, in the High School of the Dead world, the fragment was hidden by the government.”

[SAO Blacksmith]: ”What a cliche.”

[Scarlet Devil Headmaid]: ”I will help you do it, master.”

[Owner]: ”Thank you.”

...

Although indirectly, everyone believes that the reason for today’s successful operation was that Lizbeth played with the protagonist group in that world... as they already learning things about karma, destiny, and fate are real in any world.

In today’s incident, they also realized that there was a possibility that they could not find the Est soul fragment because it was hidden by the government or an organization. With its ability to generate endless energy, it was clear that the object of the Est soul fragment became an attractive item to study for anyone, regardless of the world.

...

[Mage of Exodus]: ”Anyway, all of us have talked earlier and analyzed the situation. Looking at the condition of the first Est soul fragment we found, it can be predicted that the other fragments will also be contaminated by your bad luck curse, Kaito.”

[Owner]: ”No doubt. They were the reason why Est’s soul shattered after all, according to the system.”

[Mage of Exodus]: ”Est soul fragment and your bad luck energy seem to mix well and create a strange synergy that can be used to change the presence and life energy of the person who uses it.”

[Owner]: ”That’s probably my fault. The last time I used Est, I opened the function mode to absorb the curse of bad luck that I have and convert it into energy--- and maybe the Est soul fragment is stuck in this function.”

[Mage of Exodus]: ”That’s a good theory. And somehow, the bad luck energy you use, even though it’s just a fragment, can still provide energy that seems limitless.”

[Railgun Girl]: ”Similar to Sukuna’s cursed finger.”

[God Tongue]: ”Sacred jewel from Inuyasha.”

[Root Princess]: ”Should be even worse than those. It’s a curse that even root can’t see its identity and is capable of corroding the law and physics of the entire world~ as expected of our leader. Kaito-kun, you should have found out the clue about what kind of curse resides in your body, right?”

[Owner]: ”...Kind of. All I know is that it’s a very high-level misfortune curse, and I need to get much stronger than my current strength to control it.”

Since the cat is already out of the bag, he might as well reveal some information about the curse in his body. After all, everyone asking him out of concern and he also feels bad about keeping lying on them.

...

[Root Princess]: ”High-level curse... how high are we talking about, Kaito-kun?”

[Owner]: ”Should be about level 8 peak or more...”

[Everyone]: ””...””

Seeing Kaito’s confession, the chat group immediately became silent because the members were shocked and anxious at the same time. Kaito’s explanation also immediately answered many questions about the curse on Kaito and the reason he was obsessed with becoming strong.

...

[Mage of Exodus]: ”...No wonder, even a small fraction of it is capable of making such an immense amount of trouble and energy. According to the system, level 8 is at the level of the world easily destroyed.”

[Owner]: ”I am sorry. But I promise to take care of my problem as soon as possible.”

[Mage of Exodus] ”No, I am glad you are being honest. Old you would have tried to hide it since you are afraid of making everyone afraid and destroying yourself.”

[Musician of Red Hair Pirate]: ”Kaito-kun is always trying too hard on himself.”

[Uchiha Prodigy]: ”Indeed.”

[Caped Baldy]: ”That’s totally what Kaito would do.”

[Owner]: ”....Thank you, everyone.”

...

While doing this confession, Kaito was also worried that the members would not accept him because of that terrifying, but this concern immediately disappeared when he remembered what Manaka had said to him that night, which said-- his role is irreplaceable.

He would not be replaced in the chat group as the leader, and therefore, rather than worrying about whether people would accept him or not, he would rather worry about whether he could be a good, competent leader or not.

And as a good and competent leader, Kaito thinks he shouldn’t be hiding anything from everyone and making everyone concerned about him.

...

[Mage of Exodus]: ”I guess our leader is growing up.”

[Uchiha Prodigy]: ”It feels like it’s yesterday our leader was fighting a lot with Misaka in here.”

[Railgun Girl]: ”I am sorry about that!”

[Queen of Sekirei]: ”Pffft... it has been years after all.”

[Root Princess]: ”But since the situation has become like this, there’s a more pressing problem to face, Kaito-kun~ Don’t worry, I will do my best to help.”

[Owner]: ”What kind of problem?”

[Mage of Exodus]: ”Manaka is right. Kaito, we’re lucky that there are no supernatural elements in the high school of the death world. Naturally, humans there have weak compatibility with bad luck energy.”

[Mage of Exodus]: ”But what about Black Bullet, which has Gastrea, and Akame Ga Kill, which has dangerous beasts? Would your ’curses’ naturally be more compatible with them?”

...!!!

”Crap, she is right!”

Seeing what Aika said, Kaito realized the implications of his curse.

If a normal human, like a zombie with a maximum strength of low 2, could become a 3* strong man with the help of the curse attached to Est’s soul fragment... Kaito couldn’t imagine what it could do to a creature that was already strong on the base, like a level 5 Gastrea...!!

...

[Baroque Works Leader]: ”I guess I should make sure Saitama-sensei is available all the time to help.”

[Musician of Red Hair Pirates]: ”Don’t worry, I will make sure to watch him! Sensei is my bodyguard, after all!”

[Caped Baldy]: ”Just ping me when something is happening.”

[Owner]: ”...I also need to prepare more, too.”

[Root Princess]: ”I am also going to help you, Kaito-kun. Leave everything to me, okay?”

[Owner]: ”Thanks, Manaka... but even so, I still need to be prepared for a worst-case situation.”

[Mage of Exodus]: ”Good mindset. I will also help whenever I can, too.”

[Scarlet Devil Headmaid]: ”Me too.”

[Owner Favorite Girl]: ”Me too.”

[SAO Administrator]: ”I will also report to you immediately if I catch something on satellite.”

...

Once again, Kaito truly feels glad that in this task, he is not alone, as everyone is also here to help. However, after realizing what the cursed energy attached to Est’s soul fragment can do, Kaito planned to prepare more-- since there’s always a chance Est’s soul fragment in this world was attached to Gastrea level 5.

And considering his bad luck, Kaito wouldn’t be surprised if that’s truly the case, and they need to prepare for that.
