The Misfortune Adventure Of Dimensional Chat Group Owner

After a few minutes of trying to calm both parties down, Kaito manages to stop the potential conflict between them and even diverts Aika and Co’s attention to Ilya, Saber, and the others. Everyone then sits together in the meeting room, waiting for the rest of the members to come here to attend the meeting later.

”Manaka... I swear, you almost got me a heart attack.” Kaito complained and warned, ”Please don’t do that again.”

”I thought what I did was reasonable because they disrespected you.” Manaka smiled sweetly, looking at Kaito teasingly, ”It turns out, in this chat group system, it’s okay to act rudely as long as the members’ positions are close enough to you.”

”That... well, you’re not wrong.”

Kaito, who initially tried to justify it, immediately became silent because what Manaka said was quite reasonable-- although there was also something wrong with her words.

’I mean... Aika wasn’t wrong to say that I always bring girls to the chat group after I finish a mission... Miya in Sekirei, Lisbeth in SAO, Kaguya in Naruto, and now Saber-- but in my defense, not all of them want to chase me!’ Kaito thought in his mind.

Kaito didn’t mind being insulted, as long as the chat group had a reasonable reason to do so. Kaito was very aware that he was trying to build a family, not a mercenary group where members had to respect each other.

...

While Manaka and Kaito chat side by side, meanwhile Aika and the others approach Ilya and Saber-- and have a much better impression of them than Manaka.

”So Ilya, you’re an 18-year-old legal loli... as expected Kaito kidnapped another one.” Aika commented on Ilya and Jack.

”Indeed, master seems to like little silver-haired girls.” Sakuya also commented.

”He also likes blonde girls.” Miya added, while looking at the hair color of Ravel, Saber, and Manaka, ”Isn’t that right, Ravel-san?”

”Umm...” Ravel looked away, embarrassed and aware that she was also the subject of conversation.

”If I may ask, why did Kaito invite you to this world?” Aika asked in a surprised tone, ”I accept all of you here without a problem because everyone also brings their friend to this world, but is there another reason why you agreed to follow Kaito here?”

”Uh... Kaito said that he wanted me to follow... and gave me a new purpose in life.” Saber answered embarrassedly.

”I-I’m here because Kaito invited me, and he also saved my life.” Ilya followed.

”I’m here because Mommy Manaka said I’ll have lots of friends here.” Jack also answered.

Hearing their answer, Aika who had watched the memories of Fate Stay Night now understood what going on. Using the chat group points to make sure her guess, Aika checked that Ilya was now a human, Saber was still a heroic spirit but was connected to Kaito, and Berserker was also like that but was connected to Ilya.

Only Jack and Manaka were the only ones whose identities they didn’t know, but they could also guess that Jack was Manaka’s servant... because he obeyed her very much and called her ’mommy’.

As for Manaka Saijyou herself, Aika and the others were sure that she must be ”one of the big bosses” from that world because they instinctively felt ’danger’ when Manaka threatened them all before.

...

Anyway, satisfied with their answers, Aika immediately remembered that another silver-haired loli should be here, and wondered, ”Speaking of which, we have another white hair little girl here... did Kaito release her in that world, or Est was stuck in the inventory?”

”Should you release her already? We kind of miss her too.”

...!!

Hearing Aika’s question, Kaito Saber and the others’ expressions immediately became panicked and sad. Naturally, this sudden change was caught by all the girls present.

Even the arrogant Manaka Saijyou also became silent and had to look away from them.

Seeing their strange attitudes, Sakuya immediately felt anxious and asked Kaito, ”Did... Did something happen to Est, master?”

With a heavy feeling, Kaito nodded and answered, ”She... is not here.”

”...What happened?” Sakuya asked with a concerned tone, ”Kaito-kun.”

”She... She... Because of my decision...” Kaito who felt a deep sense of guilt again, choked and held back his sadness and then lowered his head, ”Because of my decision... Est was killed while I was working on a task.”

....!!!

*Gasp*

Hearing Kaito’s answer, it was clear that all the girls were extremely shocked, even Sakuya gasped and unconsciously took a step back, didn’t believe what she heard.

”Killed? How... does that happen?” (Aika)

”What’s going on master?” (Miya)

”Est-san...” (Ravel)

”...” (Akitsu)

”Master... Why? How?” (Sakuya)

...

As the person who took care of Est the most in the base world, Sakuya had the closest relationship with Est after Kaito. Sakuya even considered herself the second young master... because Est is technically the sister of Kaito, which in Scarlet Devil Mansion, her status would be the same as Remi’s naughty sister, Flandre Scarlet.

Hearing everyone question, Kaito who felt immense guilty couldn’t help but look away, ”I... I will explain everything in the meeting later.”

...!!

*Dash*

Immediately Sakuya, who could not accept Kaito’s attitude of running away, pulled his collar in anger, ”Master! Why did you--”

”...”

...????

However, when Sakuya saw Kaito’s depressed resigned expression, she then let him go immediately. Understanding Kaito’s behavior, Sakuya and the others could see that Kaito deeply regretted this and they realized that Kaito could not have killed Est intentionally.

”Master...” Taking a breath to calm herself, Sakuya stared into Kaito’s eyes with a hopeful look, ”...Can Est-san be saved?”

”...Yes.”

Kaito, who had asked the system about this while in the moon world, nodded seriously, ”Est can be saved... but I will explain it in the meeting so that everyone can understand what it needs together.”

”Please... I need everyone’s help to do it.”

”...”

Seeing Kaito’s pitiful face, Sakuya nodded slowly and then Kaito decided to leave the room to calm down himself.

The other girls let him go without comment, making the atmosphere immediately filled with sadness, especially the girls who still couldn’t believe that one of the people they knew in the chat group was ”killed” for the first time during their task.

Aika, who was the most unhappy with Manaka, immediately approached Manaka’s seat seriously, curious about what happened, ”Manaka Saijyou, can you explain what happened there?”

”It was pure accident.” Manaka answered and then shook her head, ”For further explanation, you should hear it directly from Kaito later.”

...

Leaving the meeting room (running away), Kaito, who was feeling sad, decided to calm himself down in his private room.

Kaito’s hand trembles, the looks of disappointment coming from them are enough to make him want to kill himself again. When he got there, he could see their hands and legs shaking all together, because Kaito was very scared by their gazes filled with disbelief, disappointment, and anger.

To calm himself down, Kaito decided to contact the system chat group again and check the task of how to revive Est again by asking the system.

”...Yes, I can do it.” Kaito muttered while looking at the task released by the chat group system to save Est, ”I can do it.. but I do need everyone’s help!”

...

At first, Kaito naturally asked the chat group whether it was possible to use points to resurrect Est, but he underestimated how precious Est’s status is as a sword with the power to destroy the world. On top of that, she is also now ’customized’ to Kaito-- making the price of resurrecting her easily more than a hundred million points!

At this stage, Kaito knew it would take dozens of years to collect that many points, so he immediately dismissed that option.

Fortunately, there’s another way to revive Est which is through a task released by the system. This time, the task isn’t something he can do alone since it requires manpower and is a group task, so Kaito is willing to beg the chat group member to help him.

Kaito himself is not a person who indulges in the past, although he still regrets it does happen, he also knows the more important thing is the future, to not let ever happen again.

He also swore to get even stronger, to create even more buggier props now that his energy issue has been solved. However, he also plans to train his own body, to make sure he is not too dependent on props if he can’t use them.

While thinking all of this, Kaito then remembered the main culprit of Est’s tragedy is his bad luck and decided to ask the system--- only to get an unsatisfactory answer as usual.

’Can you tell me... what exactly is the source of the misfortune that has befallen my entire life?’

*DING*

=====

[The Owner does not have enough points or privileges to view the answer.]

=====

’How many points or owner privileges do I have to have for you to answer me?!’

*DING*

=====

[The number of points is unknown and the privilege level must be at least above level 8.]

=====

’Are you serious?! Do I have to raise 4 more levels of privilege?! System! Don’t you also feel bad about what happened to Est?! Do you want the same thing to happen again?!’

*DING*

=====

[The System suggests that the Owner never tries to absorb ’misfortune’ again until the Owner chooses enough power to use it.]

=====

Looking at this answer, Kaito knows there’s a loophole in the system. As always, the system isn’t perfect, it’s not exactly something he can trust at all-- like all those mutation bosses that happen in the SAO world.

Anyway, Realizing that there is a way to find out the identity of this ’misfortune’ other than points and privilege level, Kaito became excited and confident, especially when he remembered his current strength evaluation level.

’How strong do I have to be so that I can safely absorb my ’misfortune’ and use it as one of my abilities?’

Thanks to the Third Magic Ownership, Kaito has now officially entered level 6 strength evaluation in the chat group. According to Kaito, he is confident that in terms of strength, he has entered the category of strong people who can walk freely in many worlds--- but the chat group gave him an answer that made him choke and his confidence plummet drastically.

*DING*

=====

[For the Owner to use that ’misfortune’ curse safely, the Owner must at least have the strength equivalent to level 9 in strength evaluation or level 8 limit’]

=====

”...”

Kaito, who fought Gilgamesh, had seen people with strength evaluation level 7 have the power to play with the concept and law of the world itself.... but level 9 chat group strength evaluation?!!??

Kaito thought that the chat group strength evaluation only went up to level 7!

’If I may ask, what kind of power does a person at level 9 have?’

*DING*

=====

[The power possessed by a level 9 person means that the person can easily destroy a world or many worlds and survive easily even if a universe got destroyed.]

=====

”That’s still a bit far away from my current strength...!! Are you saying I need to have enough power to be equivalent to Gurren Lagann’s ultimate form? What the fuck?!”

...

Seeing the explanation from the chat group, Kaito became speechless and couldn’t help but be afraid, because this raised another scary question: ’What kind of unlucky curse was inflicted on him, that he must have the power to destroy the world... just to use it safely without consequence?’

 ...

However, Kaito wasn’t done asking. He still had one more question if confirmed the answer he receives is going to be ”yes”, this going to change everything for him.

...

’Here’s my last question, If left alone... will my bad luck curse affect other members in the chat group?’

*DING*

=====

[Normally, I would ask you a point to answer this type of question, Owner. But considering this is something that can affect the entire situation of the chat group, we will answer your question for free... and the answer is...]

[Yes.]

=====

....!!!

Hearing the answer from the system, this time Kaito was terrified and felt short of breath due to anxiety. At this moment, Kaito couldn’t help but want to improve his strength more than ever before, as he felt a sense of urgency from it.

”Why... Damn it...”

In Kaito’s mind, he could endure the curse of misfortune that had troubled him his entire life without any problems if it meant everyone was happy, but if this curse also troubled his ’family’ members...

Kaito would rather leave them or kill himself than cause trouble for everyone.
