The Misfortune Adventure Of Dimensional Chat Group Owner

After officially becoming Promoter and Initiator, Kaito brings Midori directly to the corporation where the Protagonist and Heroine in this world are located, namely Tendo Civil Security. Naturally, during his search for Est’s soul fragment in all whole Tokyo, Kaito already knew the Tendo Civil Security location.

Kaito also already made an appointment with Tendo Kisara, so she should be waiting for them to come into the office. With Kayaba’s hacking ability, he easily tracked down the company email and created an appointment under Kaito’s order just now through the chat group.

Fuse Midori, who didn’t know the storyline or what was going on, was confused by Kaito’s actions, but she still complied and didn’t ask why. For Midori, who was pampered heavily by Kaito, he was her god who healed her and gave her happiness, and she was willing to do whatever he ordered.

When they arrived at the building of their destination corporation, both of them looked a little worried about the condition of the building which looked old, dilapidated, and very unsafe.

”Kaito-sama... this is...”

”Y-Yeah, this is our destination.”

Kaito reassures his ’partner,’ patting her head once again to reassure her, ”Let’s get in. I have messaged the owner of this place and already have an appointment with her this noon.”

”Umm...”

After entering the place, Kaito and Midori, this impression of this place became stronger, with the condition of the inside, both the ceiling, walls, and floors were damaged- and the paint color was faded on various sides.

Looking at the situation, Kaito couldn’t help but secretly swear he would fix it later, otherwise he is afraid the whole building broke down, mainly thanks to his bad luck.

...

When they entered, they saw a beautiful girl in a high school uniform with long black hair and a sharp gaze immediately staring at them with scrutiny and suspicion. While Midori was confused about the identity of the older woman in front of them, Kaito naturally recognized the main heroine of this world and quickly greeted her.

”Hello, Tendo Kisara-san.” Kaito greeted her politely, ”I’m here to fulfill the appointment I made in the email, intending to join the civil security here.”

”...”

”Tendo Kisara-san?”

*Sigh*

”Honestly, I can’t believe that anyone wants to join here...” Looking at Kaito with disbelief, Kisara once again checked the email on her phone and stared at him, ”Are you the owner of the email with the name Kaito?”

”Yes. My name is Kaito, and this is my partner, I mean initiator, Fuwa Midori. We are here to join this corporation, and I hope you can accept us!”

???

After that, Kaito then handed over the documents he got from IISO to Tendo Kisara, and then became even more suspicious after seeing his IP rank. Of course, she became suspicious because compared to the current protagonist Satomi Rentaro’s IP rank, Kaito’s IP rank was enough to categorize him as one of the strongest people in Tokyo, especially when he just registered today.

As someone who knows how IISO works, Tendo Kisara certainly knows his rank means Kaito’s and his partner’s personal ability must be very strong, and he probably could rank higher if not because he doesn’t have any achievements.

After seeing his IISO documents, Tendo Kisara doesn’t trust Kaito and thinks he has an agenda here. She put down his document and stared at Kaito seriously,  ”Tell me the reason why you want to join our corporation. Be honest.”

”Unlike other civil security, our corporation is one of the worst in Tokyo, so I believe you want to join us for a special reason.”

”I have seen that your IP rank is quite high. There’s no logical reason why you want to join us instead of a better Civil Security Organization in the city.”

”Are you here on purpose? Or are you a spy that the Tendo family wants to plant on my corporation?!”

...!!

Looking at Tendo Kisara who does not trust him and is even prepared to attack him, Kaito couldn’t help but feel a headache from this especially hearing her think that Kaito is a spy from the Tendo family.

Logically, Kaito had expected this question to come, but didn’t expect Kisara to immediately consider them enemies directly.

Previously, he wanted to answer that he wanted to join because Kaito admired the protagonist who had saved him, but seeing this girl, he knew that Kisara definitely wouldn’t believe it and would immediately try to cut them down.

Fortunately, he has prepared a second convincing plan to answer this kind of question. He just didn’t expect Kisara to be so cautious and distrustful, but remembering her past and her ever-growing hatred, now Kaito thinks her reaction is quite appropriate.

Although Kaito is not afraid of Kisara herself, he is not willing to make enemies with Tendo Kisara, the heroine. She might be a person who is blinded by hatred and revenge... but considering her backstory, Kaito kinda sympathetic with him and can understand her situation.

...

”Calm down, Kisara-san.” Kaito tried to persuade her calmly and then explained, ”To be honest, I wanted to join because in the prophecy I received, if I join this corporation, I can find what I’m looking for.”

”Prophecy? Are you for real?”

”It sounds stupid, but yeah...” Kaito scratched his head, pretended to be embarrassed.

Naturally, this answer made Kisara confused, but looking at Kaito who looked serious, Kisara finally dropped her guard, ”Are you serious? A prophecy makes you want to join this corporation.”

”You think I am stupid?” Kisara complained while rolling her eyes. Midori was also confused by her master’s answer, but knowing Kaito must have a purpose, Midori choose to pretend to don’t know anything.

”It’s stupid, but trust me.”

Kaito sighed and then thought about Est’s death, making him depressed and giving him a serious aura, ”The prophecy may not be accurate, but I’m not going to throw away my chance if it allows me to find her.”

”...Her?”

Kisara, who could feel Kaito’s determination in his voice and eyes, dropped her guard even further and curiously asked, ”If I may ask, who are you looking for?”

”My beloved sister, Est.”

...!!!

Seeing the serious expression full of obsession and determination, Tendo Kisara, who also had a strong obsession, could see that he was not lying and even felt like a kindred spirit with Kaito.

After that, Kaito told her a fake, but in a way, the truth about how he accidentally lost his sister, and now he wanted to find out her whereabouts. Getting desperate, Kaito decides to visit a witch which give him a prophecy, which tells him to join this company if he wants to find his sister’s whereabouts.

Although Kaito tells her a lie, his obsession to find Est (soul fragment) isn’t fake, and in a way, he does tell Kisara the truth about what is going on in the wrong context. Even the witch could be replaced with a chat group system, since it was the chat group that gave them a hint to hang around the protagonist to find Est’s soul fragment easily.

To make it more convincing, Kaito uses a few points to make his expression remain serious, and also subtly erases Kisara’s doubt about Kaito’s motives.

And she ended up believing his reason and welcomed him. Especially when Kaito revealed later that besides joining the corporation, he also wanted to help the corporation financially and fix the building.

Although believing in prophecy sounded absurd in Kisara’s eyes and made her label Kaito as a weirdo, at least Kisara already believed that he was not a spy from the Tendo family. Not to mention, Kisara became more certain of her feelings because Kaito had an obsession like hers, an obsession where he was willing to do anything to achieve his goal.

And as someone with a deep obsession, Kisara could sympathize with him too and understand his reason.

After getting a message from Tendo Kisara that they have a new employee joining their company, Satomi Rentaro, the protagonist wanted to meet him. After picking up Enju Aihara from school, he immediately went to the office together with his partner, as he is curious about Kaito.

Especially when Kisara informs him that Kaito’s IP rank is within 1000 in the city, which means his new junior must be very strong!

”I heard we got a new employee from Kisara, I was shocked.” Rentaro said while handing over the gift, ”This is a gift from me, Kaito-san. Please accept it.”

Seeing the bean sprout bag handed to him as a gift, Kaito twitched his mouth wanting to laugh-- but managed to hold it in.

”...Thank you, senpai.”

This world’s protagonist, Satomi Rentaro, is a man with a small frame and messy dark blue hair, with slightly slanted eyes and blue irises. Although he looked small and ordinary, Kaito knew he was one of the mechanized human soldier subjects who also mastered the Tendo-style martial arts... which means he is fairly strong on his own.

However, although he is the protagonist, his situation and the heroine at the beginning of the story are concerning, because their civil security corporation is considered weak in the city, and they do not get many orders.

This results in them having very little income, and starvation from not eating is a common thing for these two main characters. They also often eating bean sprout as the part of their diet, but naturally Kaito wouldn’t let that continue anymore now he is here.

...

”Senpai? No, Kaito-san, you are older than me, right?” Rentaro, who already knew that Kaito was 18 years old (2 years older), immediately commented.

”Yeah, but you are senior in this corporation, so I should call you senpai,” Kaito answered leisurely while putting the bean sprout in his pocket.

Although he doesn’t plan to eat, it wouldn’t be bad to give it to the cursed children later so they could plant it as part of biology class for Manaka.

...

”Anyway, nice to meet you. My name is Satomi Rentaro. My IP rank is... uh 123.452.” Rentaro introduced himself calmly and then looked apologetically to Kaito, ”And the little girl who has been pestering your partner is my Initiator, Aihara Enju.”

”Nice to meet you!” Enju, who has been playing with Midori’s ear, then complained to her master, ”Also I am not a little girl, Rentaro!”

Enju, the enthusiastic little girl with orange hair in twin-tails, then pointed her finger at him, ”I am your bride!”

”Shut up!” Rentaro retorted, ”Don’t embarrass us in front of our junior!”

”But this is not an embarrassing thing!”

”Enju, not again!”

...

””Pffft...””

Seeing Rentaro and Enju arguing over something trivial and silly, Kaito just smiled calmly. Midori, who was not very confident, still let Enju play with her and decide to be a docile child-- and Kisara also seemed used to it and let them argue.

”Ah! Don’t take what this girl said seriously!”

In the middle of his debate, Rentaro almost forgot Kaito’s existence, and quickly said, ”Anyway, I don’t know I don’t understand about occultism or supernatural things, but I hope you can find your sister’s whereabouts!”

”...Thanks, Senior.”

Hearing the protagonist’s kind words, Kaito felt complicated because he didn’t like Rentaro as the protagonist.

Honestly, Kaito doesn’t hate the protagonist that much-- especially now that he talks with him and sincerely wishes the best for him. First, Rentaro is hardworking and genuinely caring to people around him. Rentaro is also kind, as it was proven in the plot that he doesn’t mind teaching cursed children outside of Tokyo so they could know how it feels like attending classes.

For sure, Rentaro is a much better person than his former master, Tohsaka Rin, although that’s a very easy line to surpass.

Kaito’s only problem with this protagonist is his hypocrisy... his outlook on justice in this world which he can’t agree with at all-- as it’s directly opposite of Kaito’s principle to protect people around him foremost before others.

Normally, Kaito can respect the weird principles/justice of a protagonist, because there are many protagonists of this type, such as EMIYA in the moon world, who is willing to kill a few people for the sake of the masses.

Unfortunately, in Kaito’s opinion, this protagonist’s justice is heavily crooked.

Kaito knows that in Rentaro’s eyes, the status of cursed children who are being oppressed and society who choose to torture them is equal, and must receive the same legal treatment... Even though it is very clear that the majority of people in Tokyo do not have a good view of cursed children.

In Kaito’s eyes, Instead of sacrificing the minority for the majority type of justice, the protagonist in this world of justice is sacrificing the innocent for the scum who happens to be the majority.

And what makes Kaito feel offended (most people in the chat group are also the same) is that this guy also doesn’t hesitate to sacrifice people who are closest to him for those scum.

It was proven at the end of the anime. Rentaro decides to go against Kisara’s quest for revenge, since doing so against the law, even though he also knows what his childhood friend has experienced before, was deserved revenge.

With their different ideologies, Kaito knew that they would clash sooner or later, because Kaito’s main plan was to bring the cursed children into his world and let people of this world protect themselves.

...They don’t like the cursed children anyway, so might as well bring them back home.

Though... there’s no way people of this world would not accept that, including the protagonist in front of him.

Kaito only hoped that he could convince Rentaro to change his views later and join him after they got along-- because if not, Kaito would not hesitate to beat or even kill him, even if he is the protagonist of this world.

They are not obligated to save this damn world after all.
