Chapter 1149: Chapter 1148: Magical Girl and Live Combat Training

Since the establishment of the Far East Magic Research Club, in the days that followed, the Magical Girls began their training under Fang Zheng’s guidance.

The time they used, of course, was the time for club activities, but this was somewhat difficult for Little Sakura and Shisei. Unlike Nanoha, who joined the Go-Home Club, Little Sakura was part of the cheerleading team, and Shisei was a member of the choir, so they had to attend their own club practices on normal days as well.

Therefore, the schedule was somewhat tight, but fortunately, on Little Sakura’s side, there wasn’t much of a problem, so Fang Zheng wasn’t particularly worried.

Most of his energy was focused on Nanoha.

”Well, today’s training will still be focused on actual combat.”

Fang Zheng looked at everyone in front of him and then spoke.

”Little Sakura, your opponent is Illya, while Nanoha and Little Hei are in one group. The rules remain unchanged, just last ten minutes against them... Shisei, you’ll be in charge of filming.”

”Okay, teacher.”

Upon hearing Fang Zheng’s command, Shisei smiled and nodded, then skillfully opened her personal terminal, quickly locking onto both sides.

At the same time, both sides stood ready. Illya and Little Sakura exchanged a bow, while Little Hei playfully beckoned to Nanoha, then with a spin, she transformed into her Heroic Spirit form.

”Phantasmal Summoning!”

Illya softly called out at this moment, then took out a Servant card. In the next instant, her Magical Girl Outfit quickly transformed into a deep purple robe, and the Magic Wand in her hand became a slender metal rod. Opposite them, Nanoha also gripped her Heart of the Rising Sun tightly, while Little Sakura raised her Magic Wand. However, unlike before, this time, as Little Sakura raised her Magic Wand, her school uniform swiftly transformed into a luxurious and dazzling Magical Girl Outfit.

Of course, it wasn’t because Little Sakura suddenly acquired the ability to transform in a burst of clothing. Instead, Fang Zheng had installed the ”Hard Light Armor” used by Asuna and Eiriri in her personal terminal. After all, in terms of defense, Little Sakura was the weakest. Illya and Little Hei were Heroic Spirits, which are temporarily not considered, and Nanoha’s transformed protective outfit had a defense level that could also be trusted.

Only Little Sakura, as a Magical Girl, couldn’t transform at all; she could only summon the Magic Wand. Aside from using the Clow Cards to protect herself, she had no defense whatsoever. This means that if they encountered the same damage, others could use their magic protection to fend off attacks, while Little Sakura would end up with a bloodied head if she didn’t have protection or couldn’t dodge.

Therefore, Fang Zheng specially added the ”Hard Light Armor” for her, hoping it would give Little Sakura more self-protection.

Notably, the design of Little Sakura’s Hard Light Armor wasn’t something Fang Zheng copied from the Death Game; it was designed by Shisei... This was Shisei’s second interest after recording footage with her personal terminal.

Both sides exchanged bows, and simultaneously, as the bell rang, the next moment, Illya and Little Hei rushed toward Little Sakura and Nanoha.

”Five Gate Destruction Cannon!!”

Illya floated in the air, raising her Magic Wand. As she moved, a swirling purple array rapidly appeared in front of Illya, and the condensed Magic Power Light Beam roared out from it, directed at Little Sakura.

”FLY!”

As Illya fired the Magitech Cannon Fire, Little Sakura quickly waved her Magic Wand, activating the ”Fly” card, and then a pair of wings appeared from Little Sakura’s back, allowing her to fly gracefully like a Fairy, evading Illya’s cannon fire. At the same time, Little Sakura swung her right hand, throwing out another card.

”Wind, please transform into shackles to bind the enemy — WINDY!”

With Illya’s command, a roaring gale burst from the card, rushing toward Illya’s direction.

”Indeed, the Moe King is really the Moe King.”

Watching the scene before him, Fang Zheng couldn’t help but nod. He had to admit, Little Sakura’s talent was extraordinary to the point of being almost abnormal, as the most renowned representative of Magical Girls. With just a few days of training, Little Sakura had already mastered how to activate the Clow Cards with proper Magic Power and use two Clow Cards simultaneously in combat.

It was just that Little Sakura’s current Magic Power wasn’t sufficient; otherwise, Fang Zheng was planning to have her directly transform the Clow Cards into Sakura Brand... That would eliminate the need for a certain black-hearted four-eyed guy to appear.

By the way, out of curiosity, Fang Zheng had assessed the Magic Power of these four girls too. Calculated by Magic Power level, among the four, Illya had the highest Magic Power rating at S Rank, Little Hei at A+, Little Sakura at C, and Nanoha at A.

Of course, this was just their current situation. Fang Zheng knew that if they followed the ”original story,” Nanoha would eventually become a self-propelled turret capable of firing ”Starlight Burst,” and Little Sakura would become a genius capable of transforming all cards three times... This indicated that even though their base values weren’t high, their future growth potential would be substantial.

In fact, Little Sakura’s growth was already evident. When Fang Zheng first met Little Sakura, her Magic Power rating was only D; just in a few days’ time, it had elevated to C...

This is the true influence of a protagonist’s aura, pure-blooded.

Who knows what level she will eventually reach?

On the other side, Nanoha was apparently not so lucky.

As in the original story, at this moment, Nanoha only knew the simplest long-range cannon fire, and in facing Little Hei, who is written as ARCHER but read as SABER, she had no power to resist. In the training of the past few days, whenever Little Hei got close, Nanoha could only surrender.

But Nanoha, after all, was protected by the protagonist’s aura, and after several days of beatings by Little Hei, she gradually mastered some techniques and began to take some initiative in the fight against Little Hei.

This was exactly what Fang Zheng wanted to see.

I wonder what will happen then.

Watching Nanoha engage with Little Hei, Fang Zheng couldn’t help scratching his chin. He knew if they followed the ”story progression,” it wouldn’t be long before Nanoha would meet her ”Lifelong Friend,” Fate, and in their first battle, Nanoha was almost instantly defeated due to being caught off guard.

But that was the original.

In terms of close combat capability, Little Hei far surpassed Fate. Now, Fang Zheng was dying to see what would be the result when Nanoha, after being specially trained by Little Hei, encounters Fate. Would she lose as in the original story? Or would she break the narrative line and gain victory? If she wins, how will her relationship with Fate develop?

It’s getting more and more interesting.

”Ding... Ding...”

”Time’s up!”

Upon hearing the bell ringing once again, Fang Zheng refocused and then spoke. Hearing the bell, the four engaged parties promptly stopped and returned to Fang Zheng.

”Little Sakura, you did well this time.”

Although Fang Zheng had been somewhat distracted, he wasn’t just standing idly by; he had been carefully observing the battles. As he spoke, Fang Zheng looked towards Illya.

”Illya, next time you can use three transformations.”

”Yes, MASTER.”

Upon hearing Fang Zheng’s order, Illya nodded obediently. This was also the reason why Fang Zheng chose Illya to practice with Little Sakura. Little Sakura’s Clow Cards were ever-changing, possessing all sorts of powers. Because of this, single-type training would only limit Little Sakura’s use of the Clow Cards. Therefore, Fang Zheng selected Illya as her opponent. Illya’s Phantasmal Summoning was similarly versatile and, even at the same rank, she could summon different Heroic Spirits to possess her, which perfectly countered Little Sakura’s Clow Cards and broadened her ”attack strategies.”

As for Nanoha...

”Nanoha, you did well too; it seems you truly have given it some thought...”

Just at that moment, Nanoha suddenly raised her hand.

”I have an idea...”

”Idea?”

”Yes...”

Nanoha said, glancing at Little Hei, and then spoke softly.

”I want to learn and master an ultra-long-range bombardment magic... Can I?”

”........”

Looking at the girl staring eagerly at him, Fang Zheng found himself at a loss for words.

Indeed, the inertia of history is strong...
