Dimensional Codex System: I'm really not a cultist!

Chapter 1140: Chapter 1139: I Should Have Realized It Sooner

It didn’t take long for Fang Zheng to quickly catch sight of the missile rapidly ascending through the atmosphere—oh wait, no, the Mage Tower.

But honestly, if you ask Fang Zheng, this cylindrical, pointed, completely white object really looked like an intercontinental missile no matter how you looked at it.

At this moment, the bottom of this ”missile” was spewing flames no less intense than a real rocket launch, propelling it rapidly into the sky.

One thousand meters, five thousand meters, ten thousand meters...

Soon, Fang Zheng saw the flames at the bottom of the ”missile” in front of him quickly extinguish, and the ”missile,” having lost its propulsion, clearly seemed like it was about to fall. But at this moment...

”Boom!!”

Accompanied by a flash in the sky and yet another loud booming sound, Fang Zheng saw a layer at the bottom of the ”missile” suddenly burst, followed by a series of flame jets, propelling the originally unbalanced ”missile” to continue its ascent.

Twenty thousand meters... thirty thousand meters...

The ”missile” continued upwards, with flames extinguishing several times along the way, each time successfully reigniting and continuing to climb. However, the situation wasn’t all that splendid.

”It’s already deviated from the trajectory; I think it’s finished.”

Looking at the scene before him, Fang Zheng shook his head. Although each time the ”missile” seemed about to flameout, the Chief of Shaping Type would ignite the hidden flame jets of the next layer, the launch angle would inevitably change. Currently, this ”missile” was no longer heading straight skywards but was slanting off to one side. If this continued, it would eventually draw a big arc in the sky and crash headfirst into the ground.

Then, does this Chief have any good solutions to solve this problem? After all, this is just a rudimentary rocket with propulsion devices only installed at the ”missile”’s base. There’s no way to adjust its direction, so... how does this Mage plan to solve this?

However, before Fang Zheng could finish speaking, an incredible scene unfolded.

Beside the soaring ”missile”, a giant golden hand, conjured from magic power, suddenly appeared out of thin air. Then Fang Zheng saw this hand grab the ”missile” and adjust its direction...

Fang Zheng: ”......”

Why the hell am I talking about science in a Magic World?

This is the scary part about Mages; you can quote various data to prove their methods are utterly wrong, yet Mages can still achieve the right result through their magical spells...

That’s why Mages always enjoy playing with fire, and they never tire of it.

However...

Fang Zheng watched as the Mage Tower broke through the atmosphere, frowning.

Some things still require reasoning.

Meanwhile, inside the Mage Tower, the Chief of Shaping Type was standing on the balcony, stroking his beard with satisfaction as he admired the scene outside. He obviously wasn’t wearing a spacesuit, nor did he have an oxygen mask, and his balcony didn’t even have visible glass; a faint shield completely isolated his precious little Mage Tower from the outside world. And even if the barrier shattered, the Old Mage wasn’t concerned; the spells he’d cast were enough to ensure his survival in any environment.

”I never would have thought that we truly live on a ball...”

Gazing at the blue planet beneath him, the Chief of Shaping Type mumbled to himself, clenching his fists, fixating on the land below. Just moments ago, this land seemed vast and boundless in his eyes. But now, the Chief of Shaping Type realized that this land was merely a part of this planet.

Even this planet is just a drop in the ocean.

What lies beyond?

At that moment, the nearly centenarian old man experienced an uncontrollable curiosity.

If their world was only this large, what lay beyond it? Could there be other spheres near their home? Did they also have life like theirs?

For a moment, the Chief of Shaping Type even wanted to drive this Mage Tower further out to explore, but unfortunately, all the Magic Crystals in the Flame Burst Circle at the base of the Mage Tower were exhausted, and more importantly... the Chief of Shaping Type could feel that his Mage Tower was slowly descending!

Failed? What’s happening?

Realizing that his Mage Tower was beginning to fall, the Chief of Shaping Type frowned. He initially thought that if those stars could float in the sky, then his Mage Tower could too. He even thought about finding the brightest star after flying up, then placing the Mage Tower there.

But now... there’s nothing here!

What to do? Why could those stars float in the air while his Mage Tower couldn’t? Was it because the distance wasn’t far enough? Come to think of it, he didn’t see any stars nearby, implying those stars must be even farther. And right now... it’s clearly not far enough.

If Fang Zheng were here, he could explain to the Chief of Shaping Type—this was a failed orbit!

After all, sending an object into low Earth orbit is extremely challenging, requiring numerous precise calculations and angle designs. Although the series of launch problems were roughened through by the Chief of Shaping Type, facing something dependent purely on calculation and luck can’t be achieved recklessly.

The Mage Tower hadn’t entered low Earth orbit, so its fall was inevitable. The Chief of Shaping Type only had one option: to immediately teleport away from the soon-to-fall Mage Tower and return to his home. But... looking at the blue planet not far away, the Chief of Shaping Type couldn’t help but feel a bit regretful.

If he could find a place to stabilize this Mage Tower, he could study new magic and explore new worlds there. Although he was prepared for failure when building the Mage Tower, constructing a better one would still take a lot of time. And for him, time... was already an issue.

”—————”

However, as the Chief of Shaping Type was hesitating, he suddenly felt the light overhead blocked by something, and a huge pitch-black shadow slowly emerged, enveloping the small Mage Tower.

What is it? Could there be unseen creatures lurking in the starry sky?

Seeing this shadow, the face of the Chief of Shaping Type changed slightly, and he quickly raised his head to look up.

Then, the Old Mage couldn’t help but take a deep breath.

Above his Mage Tower, a massive Metal Warship hovered. Its cargo bay below slowly opened, and then the Old Mage saw a strange Energy Beam shoot out, hitting his Mage Tower. However, this didn’t activate the Mage Tower’s defense array. Instead, the bizarre beam seemed to have some sort of attraction, tightly ”grabbing” the Mage Tower, adjusting its position, and then quickly retracting.

By this time, the Chief of Shaping Type had already noticed that his Mage Tower was no longer descending but was steadily floating here, no longer about to fall.

After completing this task, the Metal Warship slowly turned and flew off into the distance, while the Old Mage watched its receding shadow with a slight smile.

”I should have realized... Heavenly Dao Palace, Heavenly Dao Palace... naturally, you’re in the sky, aren’t you?”
