Chapter 1102: Chapter 1101: These Eunuchs Still Did Some Good

Cleaning up these eunuchs was much easier than Fang Zheng imagined.

This is quite normal. Compared to rebellions by princes, empress dowager families, etc., throughout history, the power of eunuchs is entirely dependent on royal authority. Once they are abandoned by the royal power, these eunuchs, who once held immense sway over the imperial court, are immediately relegated back to their original form.

Under the leadership of General Hong Gu, all the officials in Luoyang City loyal to the eunuchs were thoroughly captured. Meanwhile, a large-scale anti-corruption movement unfolded throughout the Chinese Federation, where officials associated with eunuchs were isolated and examined. Once found guilty, they were directly detained and legally dealt with.

As for those eunuchs... after a public trial was executed, their entire clans were exterminated.

Poor little Zhao Wei shared the same fate. She couldn’t find a sibling or a Royal Father to help her evade punishment...

The affairs of the Chinese Federation began to get back on the right track, and Fang Zheng also set his sights on the next target.

”Is this our latest developed MS?”

Looking at the pure white fighter in front of him, Fang Zheng couldn’t help but raise his eyebrow in curiosity.

”Yes, Your Highness.”

Upon hearing Fang Zheng’s inquiry, a nearby researcher in a white coat immediately replied with a smile.

”However, strictly speaking, this is no longer an MS. Its codename is VF and it’s called the Phoenix.”

”Phoenix... hmm, that’s a rather nice name.”

Faced with the researcher’s response, Fang Zheng nodded with satisfaction. He had already looked at the data concerning this VF on the internal network. It is a single-seat, twin-engine heavy variable fighter jet capable of switching between fighter jet and MS mode.

At least in Fang Zheng’s view, this transformation process isn’t too different from Starscream in Transformers.

The VF didn’t choose to use Britannia’s Sakuradite nor did it adopt the nuclear fission system used by MS from the Eurasian Federation. Instead, they adopted a unique power source named the GN Solar Furnace as its core. At least in Fang Zheng’s view, this power source is rather interesting.

According to the researcher, the GN particles generated by the GN Solar Furnace can invalidate current radar search effects, preventing enemy locks. It can also use a camouflage membrane to achieve true stealth (and certainly not like that Normandy knockoff).

It simultaneously possesses the agility and speed of a fighter jet and the ground suppression capabilities of an MS, utilizing laser rifles and missiles as primary combat methods. Of course, when weapons are depleted, it can still use the hidden knife in its arm for close combat.

However, what Fang Zheng praised most was the VF’s configuration for deploying drone modules. It uses a distinctive GN particle signal to maneuver, allowing it to be controlled and attack.

Now, this is the correct approach to future technology.

Fang Zheng is quite pleased with the Chinese Federation’s new design, and his dissatisfaction with humanoid MS isn’t as much as before. That said, it transforms into a fighter jet to perform high-speed operations both in space and the atmosphere; even if your MS can fly in the atmosphere, how quickly can it fly with that shape? Are you dismissing aerodynamics?

Of course, the benefits of the GN Solar Furnace are numerous, but the troubles are equally many. It requires the high gravity conditions of places like Jupiter to be manufactured. The three remaining GN Solar Furnaces in the Chinese Federation were all theoretical experimental products made before the Reapers entered the Solar System, hence currently, mass production isn’t yet possible.

As for Jupiter... well, speaking of Jupiter, Fang Zheng began to feel a headache again.

According to Flying Dragon’s report, a group of strange silvery-white alien bodies on Jupiter Orbit has remained stationary after devouring and merging with the Reapers, only increasing in number. Nonetheless, Fang Zheng feels that these entities have come with ill intent...

”Drip drip...”

Just as Fang Zheng was thinking, suddenly the phone rang, and Fang Zheng waved his hand, walked to the side, and answered the call. Soon, General Hong Gu’s voice came from the phone.

”Your Highness, there’s something that needs to be reported to you.”

”What’s the matter?”

”Well, a person named Zeqidun has come to request an audience...”

”Zeqidun?”

Upon hearing the name, Fang Zheng raised his eyebrow.

”Japanese?”

”Yes, he was a cabinet official in the former Government of Japan, and after Britannia conquered Japan, he sought refuge in the Federation. This time, he’s come to us because he had privately signed an agreement with the eunuchs...”

”Oh? What kind of agreement?”

”The agreement stipulates that our Chinese Federation will send troops to help him retake Japan, upon which he will join the Chinese Federation after Japan is reclaimed.”

”Oh? Is there such a thing?”

Upon hearing this, Fang Zheng couldn’t help but curl the corner of his lips slightly.

He was pondering how to reclaim Area 11, and unexpectedly this opportunity came along, like someone delivering a pillow just when he needed it.

It seems those eunuchs did manage to accomplish something after all.

”Yes, Your Highness, he’s a bit uneasy now because those eunuchs have already been...”

”Tell him we will honor the agreement and help him retake Japan.”

Fang Zheng answered without hesitation; he wasn’t going to let such a golden opportunity slip away. For this new-era Japanese version of Wang Jingwei or Wu Sangui, Fang Zheng couldn’t care less; it’s a puppet government, and a puppet is naturally the best choice.

”First capture Japan, then reclaim Cambodia; just as Britannia snatched it from us, we’ll reclaim it the same way!”

”Yes, Your Highness!”

Upon hearing this, General Hong Gu was extremely excited as well. As a soldier, he also didn’t want to see Britannia swaggering around in their backyard. Not to mention, due to the corrupt and incompetent eunuchs, they lost Cambodia as well. Previously, the Chinese Federation was controlled by these eunuchs and had no means against Britannia. But now, the situation is completely different!

They’re going to tell Britannia that Asia is the territory of the Chinese Federation, and that Britannians need to obediently roll back to the American Continent!

”Yes, then according to the planned schedule, General Cao Yuanming from the Northeastern Military Region will be tasked with leading...”

”No.”

Yet this time, Fang Zheng interrupted General Hong Gu’s suggestion.

”I’ll personally lead the team to Japan; besides, I still have my own forces there that can assist.”

”Yes, Your Highness.”

If it were someone else, General Hong Gu might have argued a bit. But as for Fang Zheng’s orders, he now basically executes them unconditionally. Not to mention, Fang Zheng has demonstrated unparalleled power in front of him, filling General Hong Gu with confidence in Fang Zheng.

”Then, the departure time...”

”A week from now.”

Fang Zheng glanced at his personal terminal and then spoke.

”A week from now, we’ll depart for Japan.”

Judging by the time, Asuna and her companions should almost be done as well.
