Dimensional Codex System: I'm really not a cultist!

Chapter 1146: Chapter 1145: Nanoha and the Sudden Knight

At the same time, Nanoha was not in a good situation either.

”Shoot———!”

Seeing several Shadow Creatures closely following behind her, Nanoha let out a delicate shout, then tightly gripped the Magic Wand in her hand and swung it behind. The gemstone at the tip of her Magic Wand displayed a line of mysterious script, and with the appearance of a Magic Circle, several Magic Missiles flew out from the Magic Circle, shooting towards the enemy behind.

”Bang! Bang! Bang!!”

The Magic Missiles hit their targets, but they seemed to cause no damage, only slowing the Demon Creatures down a bit. Nanoha took this opportunity to shift to another side.

What should I do? What should I do?

”Lord Yuno? Do you have any good ideas?”

”I don’t know what those things are either!”

In response to Nanoha’s inquiry, the Snow Mongoose perched on Nanoha’s shoulder shook its head.

”I suspect they might be native Demon Creatures of this world, attracted by the magic power of the Seed of Holy Stone! We should find a place to eliminate these creatures!”

”I’ve tried, but it doesn’t work!”

Hearing Yuno’s suggestion, Nanoha also shook her head. Unlike Little Sakura, who needed to protect others, Nanoha had already attempted a counterattack when ambushed. However, she found these strange Shadow Creatures to be very powerful, and she was unable to deal with so many Shadow Creatures at her current level.

She originally wanted to escape the hunt of these Shadow Creatures, but much to Nanoha’s dismay, these creatures were relentless in their pursuit...

Now Nanoha was completely helpless. Despite her talents and courage, she was only a third-grade elementary student, just a little girl!

”I, I also......”

However, the Snow Mongoose had no ideas either, barely stronger than Nanoha at the moment......!

From a certain perspective, this Snow Mongoose might not even be as useful as the Osaka-accented guardian beast that had been asleep for decades beside Little Sakura!

Receiving no help from the Snow Mongoose, Nanoha became a bit panicked. She had already left the bustling city area and reached the mountainside not far away. Looking around, the whole under-mountain area was dim, the cloud-filled sky blocking the moonlight, making it so that Nanoha could hardly see anything.

”Kaa—kaa—kaa———!!”

An ear-piercing sound like a crow’s cry once again arose from behind Nanoha. She turned her head to see several flickering red dots rapidly approaching her.

What to do? What to do?

At this moment, Nanoha was entirely flustered. She tried to move back, but suddenly felt her body sink; soon, Nanoha felt the magic power that was protecting her gradually dissipating, and she started descending slowly, like a deflated balloon!

”Your magic power is almost depleted, Nanoha, think of something quickly!”

”I’m trying to think... What can I do...”

Clutching her Magic Wand, Nanoha didn’t know what to do. However, there was no time left. The Shadow Creatures had already reached her, claws raised menacingly towards the girl. In the face of this unresistable attack, Nanoha could only scream, instinctively raise her Heart of the Rising Sun to shield herself, and despairingly await the impending moment.

But at this instant, a strong and powerful hand suddenly reached over Nanoha’s shoulder, pulling her back. Simultaneously, a pitch-black, flaming Greatsword was swung down suddenly, and with a ”boom”, flames exploded like a firework, engulfing the Shadow Creatures in front of her.

”Gaa———!!”

The crimson flames were evidently threatening to the Shadow Creatures, as they ignited almost instantaneously upon contact, letting out mournful screams and turning into sparkling cinders that vanished into the night sky.

”This, this is...”

Nanoha stared wide-eyed at the slowly dissipating flames, not knowing what to say. She instinctively turned around to look behind her, seeing a somewhat familiar yet unexpected face.

”The, teacher?!”

Nanoha was utterly stunned, looking at Fang Zheng who stood behind her, her mouth agape and unable to speak. At that moment, Nanoha’s mind went completely blank, or began to hallucinate... Why would their homeroom teacher appear here?

”Staying out so late is not something a good student should be doing.”

In front of Nanoha, Fang Zheng’s expression remained unchanged, calm as if they had just met on the street instead of being suspended high in the air.

Nanoha promptly hung her head, just like a child caught by the teacher at the Internet cafe entrance.

No, wait, something’s not right!

”Teacher, what’s happening...”

”Now is not the time to discuss this.”

Before Nanoha could ask, Fang Zheng interrupted her. He glanced into the night ahead, sensing that something was approaching them.

”Let’s regroup with the others.”

Though Nanoha had no idea who ”the others” Fang Zheng referred to were, she had no other choice. In fact, the little girl hadn’t fully processed what just happened. She let Fang Zheng lead her away from the sky, landing on a clearing not far away.

This was the observation deck of the Forest Park on the mountain. Usually, the view from here was beautiful, but now Nanoha stood there, looking at the city shrouded in darkness, feeling an unease deep in her heart. She couldn’t shake the feeling that something evil and dangerous was slowly infiltrating the city...

”Big brother, we’re here!”

At that moment, with a call, Fang Zheng saw Little Hei leap down from above. Meanwhile, Illya, Sakura, and Shisei quickly landed beside Fang Zheng. Upon seeing Nanoha, Sakura and Shisei were both startled. But before they could ask anything, a series of low growls arose again.

”These guys are really tenacious!”

Hearing the growls, Little Hei cursed softly, pulling out the pitch-black Longbow again.

”Big brother, let’s give them a real blow this time!”

”Seems like we have no choice.”

Facing Little Hei’s suggestion, Fang Zheng nodded, then raised the pitch-black Greatsword in his hand.

”Seal———err?”

To Fang Zheng’s surprise, as he was about to unleash the sealing move, those eerie pitch-black creatures seemed to notice something, suddenly stopping in their tracks. Not only did the ones trailing Sakura and Illya retreat, but the ones chasing Nanoha also did, as if by mutual agreement, they swiftly retreated and vanished into thin air.

It was as though they had never been there at all.

What’s going on?

”They ran?”

Noticing the disappearance of the enemies, Little Hei leapt into the air, openly displaying disappointment.

”I thought we could have a real fight here!”

”Alright, since the enemies have retreated, let’s call it a day for now.”

Fang Zheng shook his head, then swung his hand, putting away the Greatsword. As he gazed at Nanoha and Sakura, he saw them step forward, looking at him in surprise, and then speaking.

”Brother Fang Zheng...”

”Teacher...”

Both spoke simultaneously, pausing and then glancing at each other. Seeing this, Fang Zheng shook his head.

”Alright, I know you have many questions, but now is not the time to discuss them. I think...”

As he spoke, Fang Zheng glanced at the time.

”You should be in bed by now.”

Hearing this, the faces of Sakura, Shisei, and Nanoha all changed abruptly.
