Dimensional Codex System: I'm really not a cultist!

Chapter 1120: Chapter 1119: Are People This Shameless Nowadays?

For Fang Zheng, this was just a trivial task, yet unexpectedly, it brought an unforeseen aftermath.

”So, for now, let’s confirm the current list. Domestically, follow the original allocations. Remind them that the risks in outer space are still high. Don’t assume the immigrant ships are like Noah’s Ark; that’s not the case. Even Noah’s Ark could hit a reef and sink, and we aren’t completely helpless against the Reapers...”

Fang Zheng skimmed through the documents handed over by his subordinate, quickly signed his name, and gave a few instructions.

Upon discovering the Reapers, the Earth’s factions immediately tensed up again. The EU also drew inspiration from the Chinese Federation and started building their own immigrant ships. The Atlantic Federation was in trouble, as their technology in this field lagged behind. Currently... they could only work through their efforts.

Fang Zheng’s plan was to prepare on two fronts. Of course, he could handle these creatures, but it would take time. Due to the peculiar nature of these alien beings, Fang Zheng couldn’t deploy a fleet or the Swarm’s main forces, only the Explosive Mosquitoes. In this situation, he had to rely on this world’s own strength to help deal with these alien creatures.

Fang Zheng’s plan was in two steps. First, the Chinese Federation would assemble a fleet to intercept these ”Reapers” in outer space. Fang Zheng didn’t tell the whole truth, merely stating that he developed a new type of bomb targeting the creatures’ characteristics, capable of eradicating the ”Reapers” through internal detonation (fully eradicating them is true).

This plan involved sending the fleet to Jupiter’s Domain, releasing this ”Secret Weapon,” and then destroying it. If successful, the immigrant ship would simply be a space immigrant ship to help the Chinese Federation claim territory within the Milky Way. Given the Reapers’ impact, space powers within this world were already wiped out. No one could argue with me staking a claim based on my ability!

If unsuccessful, the immigrant ship would become the ”Noah’s Ark,” carrying the fire seed of human civilization on a wanderous journey.

What Fang Zheng didn’t expect was that after the Chinese Federation announced their plan, they received numerous applications from abroad.

This was understandable. Before this, due to the Reapers’ attack, human civilization’s forces, colonies, and nations outside Earth were completely annihilated. Only a few PLANT people and colony residents fled to Earth. They couldn’t just leave, not to mention many local Earth powers.

Take Orb, a neutral country that always maintained a ”Laozi is the world’s number-one neutral and orderly” attitude. But at this moment, if you can’t build an immigrant ship, you just can’t. The Chinese Federation’s immigrant ship uses land several times larger than the whole of Orb combined. Even transporting the entire Orb populace is more than enough. Can you build it?

Currently, only the Chinese Federation and EU could build such large immigrant ships. The technology was initially developed by the Chinese Federation, so naturally, many foreign influential, wealthy, and powerful people submitted applications to the Chinese Federation, including the military.

Fang Zheng roughly browsed through them. The applicants primarily fell into two groups: those desiring to join the immigrant fleet to escape Earth, and some from the military seeking to join the Chinese Federation’s fleet to participate in interception operations against the Reapers.

Many were from the Earth Federation Army. Clearly, these soldiers had enough of the Earth Federation’s finger-pointing even in humanity’s crisis. By contrast, the decisive choice of the Chinese Federation to fight to the death against the Reapers made it their prime choice.

Of course, these military personnel had demands. They hoped their families could also board the immigrant ships... Well, that’s human nature.

By this point, the Earth Federation as an institution was practically defunct.

After all, when even their troops ”defected,” what did they have left?

”Speed up, but maintain quality and quantity.”

Fang Zheng glanced at the tablet and issued another order.

”Remember, asking for an eight-hour workday when humanity’s on the verge of extinction is for those EU idiots. Let them die if they want. Here, it’s a 24-hour, three-shift operation. Ensure workers’ quality rest and nutritional food. If shorthanded, recruit people. Understood?”

”Yes, Your Highness.”

Upon receiving the order, the subordinate swiftly turned and left. Fang Zheng then turned and proceeded down the hallway. At that moment, Kurumi came out, smiling.

”You’ve worked hard, Mr. Fang Zheng.”

”It’s nothing, really quite interesting. What’s up?”

”Well, it’s like this...”

Kurumi blinked as if she wanted to say something, but her curious gaze quickly shifted beyond Fang Zheng to look behind him. Noticing Kurumi’s gaze, Fang Zheng turned around and, seeing the pink-haired figure, sighed helplessly.

”Miss Anya, why are you following me?”

Since the day Fang Zheng helped Anya rid herself of the ”Evil Spirit,” she had been silently following Fang Zheng like a ghost. Thankfully, many places she couldn’t access as a captive. Otherwise... who knows what those little girls might say if they saw her.

Upon Fang Zheng’s inquiry, the taciturn pink-haired girl lifted her head and pondered before replying.

”I want to help.”

”Help?”

”Yes, you helped me, so I want to help you.”

”Are you referring to that incident? That was nothing to me; you needn’t regard it... okay.”

Seeing Anya still expressionlessly staring, Fang Zheng shrugged. He understood that differing circumstances meant differing views. Solving Anya’s problem was no more troublesome than deciding whether to have sweet or savory bean curd for breakfast, but for Anya, it might have a completely different significance.

”How do you want to help me?”

”I can fight.”

”You mean... you want to join the Interception Unit?”

Fang Zheng furrowed his brows at this.

”You do realize this is extremely dangerous? A one-way ticket, basically.”

”I know.”

Anya’s expression remained unchanged.

”Your mechas don’t seem space-combat capable either.”

”I know that too.”

Anya nodded again.

”...Alright.”

Fang Zheng sighed and nodded.

”Then find General Hong Gu and tell him it’s my order for a VF test. If you pass, you can be a pilot in the Interception Unit.”

”Understood.”

Anya nodded again at Fang Zheng’s response but didn’t immediately leave.

”Princess Cornelia also wishes to help.”

”...Isn’t she the Second Princess? Why is she involved in this? Alright, what’s her request?”

”She hopes Your Highness can arrange for Princess Euphemia to board the immigrant ship.”

”Euphemia again...”

Hearing that name, Fang Zheng couldn’t help but press his forehead. What’s so valuable about this Euphemia? The Second Prince wants her as his bride, now the Second Princess wants to ensure her safety...

”Alright, it’s okay.”

”Thank you.”

Anya expressionlessly thanked him and then turned to leave. Fang Zheng returned his gaze to Kurumi, who was smiling slyly at him.

”Why are you laughing?”

”Nothing, it’s just... Mr. Fang Zheng, you’re really popular, aren’t you?”

”Am I?”

”Absolutely.”

Kurumi nodded.

”In fact, I came to you because... a girl claiming to be your wife is here to see you.”

”...”

Huh?

What on earth?

Are people so shameless these days?
