Dimensional Codex System: I'm really not a cultist!

Chapter 1138: Chapter 1137: Welcome to Mirai (V)

For the people of the Main World, the ”technological products” of the Heavenly Dao Palace offer them an unparalleled experience.

However, for Fang Zheng, the whimsical ideas of the Main World people are equally intriguing.

”You know, Eiriri, I feel like I’m witnessing history right now.”

Fang Zheng stood with his hands behind his back, in front of a Transmutation Mage’s exhibition platform, looking at the enormous object before him and couldn’t help but express his admiration. The exterior of this massive object looked like a rectangular box with five pairs of load-bearing wheels below and a small magic crystal cannon mounted on top—in short, this was essentially the prototype of a Main World tank.

Fang Zheng had read in history books about the records and descriptions of the invention of the ”first telephone”, ”first television”, ”first airplane”, ”first car”, and so on in his own world, which made him feel very excited. However, it was a pity that in his own world, Fang Zheng was just an ordinary game designer, and he had little chance of creating history.

But witnessing history is equally interesting.

Although this tank had many flaws, like not having tracks, and the interior space being very cramped, because the inventor essentially dismantled a small defensive turret and mounted it on this magitech vehicle. It could not even turn freely, but Fang Zheng still found it immensely captivating.

He also had to admit that magic indeed doesn’t adhere to science, after all, if you go by science—well, not to mention anything else—the current speed of the magitech vehicle, along with its ability to run on uneven ground, and the fact that its body is actually made of wood... the sheer brute force produced during its sprint should be enough to crush the steel cannon mounted on it into fragments.

Yet after casting the ”Reinforcement Technique,” this completely wooden vehicle body could not only withstand the speeding steel cannon weighing several tons but also resist ordinary bow and arrow and sword attacks...

If this were on Earth, it would certainly make a large group of physicists question their existence.

”How do you feel?”

Fang Zheng watched as the ”tank” aimed its cannon at a distant target and blew it into fragments, then turned to look at Eiriri and curiously asked—this time coming to the Magitech Exchange Conference, he brought only Nymph and Eiriri, the former wanted to see her creations, and the latter didn’t need to take exams.

Incidentally, Asuna and Black Cat were currently tucked away in the Heavenly Dao Palace, sniffling and tearing up while catching up on their studies.

This was quite normal, after all, after playing around for a year, would you still remember what you learned a year ago?

To avoid messing up this exam, both of them had to give up the idea of attending the Magitech Exchange Conference and reluctantly started catching up on their studies.

Fortunately, there was Sakurazawa Shizu in the Heavenly Dao Palace—in appearance, she seemed nothing more than a middle school student, but at least she held a legitimate teaching diploma, so giving them a bit of extra tutoring was no problem.

”Feeling really mixed... Honestly, I originally didn’t think magic could be this advanced.”

Eiriri’s expression was as complex as her tone, but Fang Zheng could understand her mindset at the moment. For Eiriri, the Main World was essentially a ”medieval world with a magical flair,” perhaps magic was indeed interesting, but the people here didn’t have the internet, no television, not even radios, and the weapons were simple and backward, which in some ways made Eiriri from modern society feel a bit proud.

After all, even without magic, humans could live a very good life. However, most people’s lives in this world seemed not that good in Eiriri’s view.

But when Eiriri followed Fang Zheng around at the Magitech Exchange Conference and saw those ”Automated Sowing Dolls” and ”Quick Portals,” she started to doubt her own thinking.

After all, there were some things even Eiriri knew very well; they probably couldn’t be created in her world even after a few hundred years.

However, here they already had prototypes.

”That’s not surprising. On Earth, humans have gone through tens of thousands of years of development to evolve from primal beings who ate raw meat to what they are now.”

Fang Zheng seemed very calm.

”Honestly, I really look forward to seeing what this world will turn into a thousand years from now... provided they don’t self-destruct again.”

Indeed, the biggest threat to this world now was that these mages had a tendency to self-destruct; fundamentally, these mages weren’t too different from many mad scientists in Fang Zheng’s world. The problem was, those mad scientists often had crazy ideas but lacked the power and resources to turn them into reality. On Earth, scientific research has many limitations, such as resources, money, political support, and government agencies that could shut down or halt research facilities anytime.

However, in this world, those mad mages not only had ideas but also had the ability to realize them themselves...

What’s more important is that this world clearly didn’t have any human rights organizations or environmental organizations to impose sanctions on these mages. If there was a group of fools holding placards to protest at a mage tower, being burned to death would be their predictable final outcome.

You can stop a mage from wantonly killing, but you cannot stop a mage from researching magic.

Unless you’re tired of living.

”Boom, boom, boom!!”

Suddenly, at that moment, the sound of muffled salutes rang out, interrupting the conversation between the two. Fang Zheng looked up and saw dazzling red fireworks in the sky not far away.

”Mr. Fang Zheng, is there an event?”

”Hmm... I remember the Chief of Shaping Type said something about showcasing his new discovery at this Magitech Exchange Conference...”

Fang Zheng thought for a moment and then decisively made a decision.

”Let’s go have a look.”

Initially, having been in the Main World for quite a while, Fang Zheng thought he wouldn’t be surprised anymore. However, when he arrived at the Chief of Shaping Type’s exhibition platform and saw the enormous cannon barrel dozens of meters tall and the rocket-like projectile standing beside it, Fang Zheng couldn’t help but exclaimed ”Oh my++”.

”Ah, Your Excellency Fang Zheng, welcome.”

Seeing Fang Zheng’s arrival, the Chief of Shaping Type walked over with a smile to greet him.

”Are these two lovely ladies Mr. Fang Zheng’s companions? Wonderful, reminds me of when I was young... Alright, let’s not talk about the past, what do you think about this...?”

”This is...”

Fang Zheng looked at the cannon barrel, then at the ”rocket” beside it, exchanged a puzzled look with Eiriri, and then curiously asked.

”May I ask... what is this for?”

”Exploring the sky!”

”The sky?”

”Exactly!”

Faced with Fang Zheng’s inquiry, the Chief of Shaping Type nodded vigorously.

”What truly exists beyond the firmament, are you not curious about this secret? And now, what I am going to do is explore the secrets at the top of the sky! Next, I’m going to place the cabin into the cannon barrel and shoot it directly into the sky like a cannonball!”

”That... doesn’t seem very possible?”

Upon hearing this, Eiriri couldn’t help but ask.

”Of course, I tested it before; relying solely on the thrust of the launch is not enough, but fortunately, I had a new idea.”

Saying this, the Chief of Shaping Type patted the ”rocket” beside him as he spoke.

”Look, I added multiple layers to the back of this cabin, and these layers have explosive magic circles engraved on them. Once the cabin is launched into the sky, if it cannot continue to ascend, I will ignite the bottom layer of the magic circle to propel the cabin further up! In this way, as long as I maintain the supply of magic power, I believe I can reach the sky!”

You managed to create multi-stage rocket propulsion?

Staring blankly at the Chief of Shaping Type in front of him, Fang Zheng felt utterly speechless, while Eiriri was also stunned for a moment, then suddenly remembered a question.

”Then, how do you come down after you go up?”

”Isn’t that simple?”

Faced with Eiriri’s inquiry, the Chief of Shaping Type remained very calm.

”I’ve long set dimensional coordinates in my Mage Tower, so if anything unexpected happens, I can teleport back to the Mage Tower without any problems.”

If aerospace technology personnel on Earth heard this, they’d probably be infuriated.

”But... why use a cannon barrel?”

Confronted with the Chief of Shaping Type’s response, Eiriri was momentarily speechless, and finally, she had to ask another question that puzzled her, to which the Chief of Shaping Type laughed heartily.

”Isn’t that obvious? Without the cannon barrel, what if it’s shot off-course?”
