Chapter 1119: Chapter 1118: Done on a Whim

Originally, Fang Zheng planned for the Chinese Federation to lead the Earth Federation, but after personally experiencing this meeting, Fang Zheng has completely given up on the Earth Federation.

This group of bureaucrats can do nothing but shirk responsibilities amongst themselves. Depending on them is less reliable than expecting pigs to climb trees.

So, after returning to the Chinese Federation, Fang Zheng discussed with His Majesty for an entire morning, and then presented a solution and made an announcement.

From now on, the Chinese Federation will enter a state of emergency war preparedness and begin construction of warships and immigration vessels!

This announcement caused a global sensation, simultaneously awakening everyone to the situation.

Right, we can’t win, but we can run!

Although human civilization in this world has not yet unlocked interstellar travel on the technology tree, at least the space colonization technology tree has been opened. However, previously the Reapers came with such momentum, humans were overwhelmed, and barely managed to survive. Hence, they didn’t consider this possibility.

Now, with this information published by the Chinese Federation, others quickly came to their senses.

The thing is, the Reapers in space aren’t as numerous as before. Taking this opportunity to build immigration vessels, escaping as much as possible—if Earth can be preserved, great. If not, at least humanity can leave some seeds behind, right?

However, for the Earth Federation, this situation is quite awkward.

”Why did the Chinese Federation decide to take action on their own?”

The high-ranking Earth Federation official on the screen is furious, and Fang Zheng could smell his bad breath through the monitor.

”Do you know that your actions put the Earth Federation in a passive position? Right now, humanity must unite and face external threats together, and you doing this...”

”If the Earth Federation discussed a strategy, then as a member of the Earth Federation, of course, we would execute it.”

Fang Zheng was too lazy to listen to the other party’s long spiel and directly, unceremoniously interrupted the Earth Federation official’s complaints.

”The problem is, does the Earth Federation have a strategy?”

”......”

Facing Fang Zheng’s sneer and question, the Earth Federation official flushed red, unable to utter a word. Just as Fang Zheng ridiculed, they held meetings for several days and failed to reach a consensus on any issue. Only upon hearing that the Chinese Federation had decided on a policy did they rush over angrily to interrogate.

”No, in any case, your actions are irresponsible towards all humanity...”

”Haha.”

Not wanting to listen to their nonsense, Fang Zheng gave a chuckle and cut off communication. He had already given up on the Earth Federation, so he naturally wouldn’t give them a good reception. If the Earth Federation dared to trouble Fang Zheng again, he wouldn’t mind sending a few Aliens to the Earth Federation headquarters to make a horror film.

And it would be the BAD END kind.

After dismissing the Earth Federation, Fang Zheng began to focus on the immigration fleet situation. In fact, he was quite curious because building immigration vessels is a very troublesome and headache-inducing matter, and no matter how it’s done, there are always limitations. So how does the Chinese Federation plan to build the immigration fleet?

After all, in any world, the love for one’s homeland is etched into their genes. Actually, even during the Solar System’s colonial era before the Reapers arrived, only a few from the Chinese Federation ventured beyond Earth. And now, they may have to leave Earth forever...

However, the engineers of the Chinese Federation came up with a method that even Fang Zheng couldn’t help but be amazed by.

Indeed, the homeland is hard to leave; since that’s the case, why not take the homeland along?

Of course, it’s impossible to move the entire Earth; this is a decision of the Chinese Federation, not the Earth Federation’s decision. The Chinese Federation can only decide its own matters and cannot influence the Atlantic Federation or the Eurasian Federation.

But they have their own ways.

Simply put, the engineers of the Chinese Federation, through some method, place a portion of land in a shell-shaped outer space vehicle, and then use engines to propel it out of Earth’s gravity sphere, and then... they can go wherever they wish.

This is somewhat similar to Stone Village’s planetary fracturing but somewhat different. After all, for space travel, people only need enough land to build houses without needing to dig up the entire Earth. Thus, it won’t cause too much impact on Earth’s crust itself—as for the various mineral resources needed for living, these are no problem. After so many years of Solar System colonization, people have long discovered that there are asteroids in outer space filled with riches beyond human imagination.

Such as asteroids completely made of gold, or an asteroid belt containing minerals that would last humanity five thousand years... drinking water is naturally not a problem. Especially on planets with thick ice layers, breaking off a piece can directly open a beach resort.

The architectural technology of this era is naturally advanced, able to withstand a Level Ten earthquake, so there’s no worry about issues occurring during transportation.

Of course, considering safety, the engineers of the Chinese Federation decided to first find a piece of land within the Chinese Federation, then cut it apart and place it into the immigration vessel. After it’s out of Earth’s gravity, they’ll send people to construct various buildings and facilities.

After all, infrastructure maniacs are unrivaled, building a city only takes about a month’s time.

If time permits, they should be able to build eight to nine immigration vessels before these ”Reapers” reach Earth and relocate more than half of the Chinese Federation’s population into space.

”This is indeed interesting.”

Standing on a high platform, gazing at the bustling construction workers in the distance, Fang Zheng couldn’t help but marvel. Previously, when he went to other worlds, he directly took away the existing technology of that world, but this time, here, he witnessed people developing a brand new technology for a specific goal.

Of course, from a technological standpoint, it isn’t entirely new. Many technologies have been utilized on colonial satellites and warships in this world. However, when the engineers of the Chinese Federation integrated them, it became a new technology, even Fang Zheng couldn’t help but admire it.

Thinking about it closely, this technology is indeed very useful, especially for certain worlds in need of escape. Rather than building a purely colonial ship, it’s better to construct such colonial facilities, so people don’t have to leave their beloved land, effectively traveling through the universe with their homeland...

Of course, dangers still exist, as there are chances of the glass barrier used as a shield being broken by meteorites or attacked by Aliens—though the probability isn’t lower than Earth being hit by meteorites or attacked by Reapers.

Hmm... once this technology is complete, definitely pack up a copy to take back to Heavenly Dao Palace.

Thinking of this, Fang Zheng couldn’t help but recall the human civilization in The Matrix of Hackers that skewed the tech tree—if they had this technology, they wouldn’t have been helplessly lying in stasis pods.

However, just as Fang Zheng was about to leave, he suddenly noticed a girl standing outside the construction factory. She held a phone, taking pictures of the ”Colonial Fleet” in front, then lowered her head, seemingly recording something.

”What are you doing here?”

If Fang Zheng remembers correctly, although the Colonial Fleet is not a top-secret project, it’s not open to just anyone. Judging by the girl’s appearance, she is clearly not from the Chinese Federation, so how did she get in?

Thinking of this, Fang Zheng immediately walked over and began to inquire.

Upon hearing Fang Zheng’s inquiry, the girl looked up, staring at him expressionlessly.

”I’m recording.”

”Recording...?”

Looking at the indifferent pink-haired girl before him, Fang Zheng frowned.

”Wait, you are...?”

”Anya Alstreim.”

The girl lowered her head and bowed slightly to Fang Zheng.

”Currently, I’m a captive of the Chinese Federation. Am I not allowed to be here?”

”Oh... so it’s you.”

Hearing her self-introduction, Fang Zheng thought for a moment and then immediately remembered. This girl was one of Cornelia’s subordinates, a Knight of the Round Table from the Britannian Empire. During the battle at the Tokyo Concession, Fang Zheng captured Cornelia, and as a Knight of the Round Table, she and another person directly surrendered. After that, Fang Zheng only confiscated their Mecha and put them under house arrest without further concern.

After all, no matter how powerful humans are in this world, without Mecha, the threat of this girl is no different from that of an ordinary fifteen-year-old girl.

”How did you get here?”

”Just like this...”

Anya gestured a bit, then lowered her head again to play with her phone.

How should I put it, looking at her made Fang Zheng feel as if he was seeing a teenager addicted to their phone from his own time.

It seems that this world also has a smartphone addiction problem.

”What are you writing?”

Curiously, Fang Zheng leaned over to take a look and found that Anya was composing something about the Colonial Fleet on her phone, which seemed like...

”A diary?”

”This is not a diary; it’s a record.”

However, Anya shook her head.

”For me, recording what happens every day is very important.”

”Oh? Why so?”

”Because I occasionally lose my memory.”

While writing her ”diary,” Anya replied without looking up.

”Sometimes, I suddenly lose my memory and come to my senses in a completely different place. I don’t know how I got there or what happened... In fact, just now, I was originally at the Governor’s Office, but somehow when I regained consciousness, I found myself here.”

”Oh? Is that so?”

Upon hearing this, Fang Zheng frowned, then narrowed his eyes and carefully examined the girl before him.

”I see... Lift your head, Anya.”

”?”

Hearing Fang Zheng’s command, Anya curiously looked up at him, and Fang Zheng reached out his hand towards her. A series of runes quickly surfaced at his fingertips, transforming into a magic beam that struck Anya’s body.

High Magic Dispel!

”—————!!”

Just as Fang Zheng’s spell hit Anya, a faint wail sounded, and the next moment, a bright red ”V” mark emerged in Anya’s eyes, shattering with a ”bang.”

”This... this is...”

Staring at her body in disbelief, for the first time, an expression of surprise appeared on Anya’s usually expressionless face.

”Alright, your trouble is resolved.”

Fang Zheng said, patting Anya’s shoulder.

”It’s not a big problem. It’s just that a Undead was hidden within your body, occasionally controlling your actions, which is why you lost your memory. Now, I’ve dispelled the Undead along with the curse, so you needn’t worry anymore.”

Having said this, Fang Zheng turned and waved his hand.

”Alright, I’ve got things to do, so I’m leaving. You should head back to the Governor’s Office as well.”

As Fang Zheng turned to leave, Anya stood quietly, watching his back without saying a word.
