Dimensional Codex System: I'm really not a cultist!

Chapter 1136: Chapter 1135: Welcome to Mirai (III)

In front of Ogrande, on the display stand, there wasn’t any strange Magic Artifact she envisioned. Instead, she saw two young people wearing Mage’s Robes standing there, with a strange metal box on their hands, seemingly containing dozens of cards.

In front of them appeared several peculiar Monsters.

”What is... this?”

Watching this scene, Ogrande was taken aback and she didn’t have time to react before she saw the tall Mage wave his hand forward. Along with his motion, a Knight in black armor holding a Scimitar leapt forward towards the short Mage, then the black Knight raised his Scimitar high and swung it down with force onto the small Monster in front of the short Mage. With a ”snap” sound, the small and pitiful-looking Monster was easily shattered into Fragments and vanished into the air.

Simultaneously, Ogrande saw the number ”2000” beside the short Mage start spinning rapidly, quickly dropping to ”1200”.

”What is this?”

”It’s a Duel Card, miss.”

Upon hearing Ogrande’s inquiry, a Mage standing next to her eagerly introduced it to her.

”This is the latest trending game around here. Simply put, everyone can form their own Deck of cards and use Magic, Trap, and Monster Cards within to battle and achieve victory!”

”So that’s how it is...”

The rules themselves weren’t complicated, and as Ogrande listened to the explanation, she quickly understood.

”So they’re having a Duel?”

”That’s right, this is the top 16 match of the Duel City Tournament hosted by the Heavenly Dao Palace. As long as one side’s LP drops to zero, they lose!”

”Then that person is definitely going to lose, right?”

Hearing this, Ogrande glanced again at the display stand in front of her and saw that the tall Mage still had 8000 LP, but the short Mage only had 1200 left. She could also see the Attack and Defense values represented on the Monsters that were Summoned.

At this moment, the young tall Mage suddenly shouted out.

”It’s my turn, draw a card!”

As he shouted, Ogrande saw the tall young Mage casually draw a card from the box on his arm. Then, he showed a smug smile as he looked towards the short Mage in front of him.

”Now, the outcome is decided!”

Shouting, the tall Mage raised the card in his hand.

”Sacrifice two Monsters on the field, Summon Blue-Eyes White Dragon!”

”— — — — —!”

Following the tall Mage’s shout, the next moment, Ogrande saw two peculiar Monsters in front of the tall Mage suddenly turn into flashes of light and disappear. In the place where the Radiance faded, a gigantic shadow emerged.

It was a terrifying and powerful Silver White Giant Dragon!

”Hiss———”

Even though she had heard from the Mage beside her that this was merely an Illusion, seeing the enormous White Dragon’s Illusion made Ogrande gasp in astonishment.

”End of turn!”

After Summoning the Blue-Eyes White Dragon, the tall Mage ended his turn, looking smugly at the short Mage in front of him.

”Well then? What are you going to do? Now you only have one card left in your hand, what can you do to me?”

”.........”

Hearing this, the short Mage didn’t speak, and Ogrande nodded. Although she wasn’t very familiar with the rules, it was clear that the short Mage was on the brink of defeat.

”My turn, draw a card.”

However, the short Mage was not discouraged. On the contrary, he reached out once more to draw a card from the card holder on his arm, then he looked at the tall Mage with a smug smile.

”The real battle... starts now!”

”What?”

Hearing the short Mage’s words, the tall Mage was taken aback. But next, he saw the short Mage press forward with the card in his hand.

”I Summon a Monster Card in Defense Position!”

With the short Mage’s words, Ogrande saw an enlarged card laid horizontally in front of him. She could only see the pattern on the back, not the content of the card.

”Whoo....”

Seeing this scene, the tall Mage let out a sigh of relief. If it were a Trap Card or Magic Card, he would have been worried, but a Monster Card... hmph hmph hmph, a futile struggle.

Next moment, his expression changed abruptly.

”Next, I remove a Light Attribute Monster and a Dark Attribute Monster from the graveyard!”

Saying this, the short Mage flung out two cards that were placed to the side.

”Special Summon, Chaos Emperor Dragon - Envoy of the End!”

”Boom———!!”

With the short mage’s shout, Ogrande saw lightning and thunder begin above, shadows filling the sky. Suddenly, a giant dragon distinct from the Blue-Eyes White Dragon emerged, instantly causing the audience to cheer, while the tall mage was pale as death.

”This...”

Yet, the short mage’s action didn’t stop there.

”Next, I pay 1000 LP, activating Chaos Emperor Dragon’s special effect!”

As the short mage spoke, the ”1200” representing LP beside him further decreased, now only ”200” remained. Meanwhile, Ogrande saw the dragon open its mouth, take a deep breath, then let out a fierce roar. In the next moment, a raging gale arose, sweeping all cards from both hands and the field into the air to vanish. Simultaneously, the tall mage’s summoned Blue-Eyes White Dragon let out an anguished cry, disappearing from sight.

At this time, Ogrande also saw the enlarged Chaos Emperor Dragon card beside the short mage displaying its special effect: [Pay 1000 LP, send all cards from both players’ hands and fields to the graveyard. This effect deals 300 damage to the opponent for each card sent].

”What a dominating effect!”

Upon seeing this, Ogrande couldn’t help but scream. As if to affirm her sentiment, she watched Chaos Emperor Dragon unleash another Dragon Breath at the tall mage. Though merely an illusion effect and without any real physical damage, the tall mage still palely retreated a step as his LP quickly plummeted from ”8000” to ”6900”.

”Hmph, then what?”

The tall mage was clearly shocked by this sight but didn’t give up. He instead glared viciously at the short mage.

”You’re down to just 200 LP. Give me a chance, and I’ll immediately end this unrealistic fantasy!”

However, the short mage remained composed amid the tall mage’s roars.

”You think I’ll give you that chance? My attack isn’t over yet!”

”What?”

Upon hearing this, the tall mage couldn’t help stepping back.

”This is impossible, according to the rules, a high-star monster summoned cannot attack this turn, and you have no other cards in hand!”

”That’s correct, but didn’t I just send a card to the graveyard?”

Facing the tall mage, the short mage presented a confident smile.

”Activate Black Forest Witch’s special effect!”

With the short mage’s words, Ogrande saw a witch dressed in black robes emerge from the graveyard beside him.

”When this card is sent to the graveyard, I can choose a monster with defense below 1500 to add to my hand. I choose this one!”

Saying this, the short mage showed the tall mage the card he had just drawn.

”Yatagarasu!”

”This, this is...”

Seeing this card, the tall mage instantly turned pale. Meanwhile, the short mage revealed a triumphant smile.

”With this, it’s over! Summon Yatagarasu!”

Saying this, the short mage placed the card he just drew in front of him. Following that, a bird resembling a giant crow jumped out of the card. However... its attack power was only 200 points?

”Yatagarasu attacks!”

”Caw———!!”

The huge crow suddenly rushed forward, clawing hard at the tall mage. The tall mage’s LP yet again fell by 200 points. Still, that wasn’t the most crucial part!

”Activate Yatagarasu’s special effect! During the turn it is summoned, after battle, this card returns to the hand. Meanwhile, the player attacked by Yatagarasu skips the draw phase next turn!”

”What?!!”

Upon hearing this, Ogrande couldn’t contain a shout, while the surrounding audience erupted in clamor.

Everyone knew what this meant. At the moment, the tall mage had no cards in hand, yet having been attacked by Yatagarasu, he would skip the draw phase the next turn. Not only that, in the short mage’s next turn, he could summon Yatagarasu again to continue the attack!

The tall mage would never be able to draw any cards again!

”This is the definitive strike!”

The short mage pointed at his opponent with his hand extended, while the tall mage was drenched in sweat.

”You lose! Attack, Apocalypse Dragon!”

”Aaaaaahhhh!!”

Boom, amidst screams and explosive lights, the tall mage finally unwillingly succumbed after one turn. Meanwhile, the short mage waved at the cheering crowd and then turned to exit the stage.

”How, how interesting!”

At this moment, Ogrande’s sister was also gazing intently, her eyes sparkling at the game cards on the stage, without blinking.

”I want to play this too, sister!!”
