Chapter 1139: Chapter 1138: Fly Me to the Moon

”I say... Mr. Fang Zheng, aren’t you going to stop him?”

Looking at the Chief of Shaping Type laughing heartily as he greeted others, Eiriri couldn’t help but pull Fang Zheng’s sleeve and whisper her inquiry. She didn’t know what status the elderly man with the wild scrubby beard had, nor was she well-versed in the essential conditions for space travel.

But even without having eaten pork, she had seen pigs run; in the Quality World, Eiriri was considered well-traveled and aware that humanity stepping into space wasn’t something simple, and... a cannonball! Wasn’t the old man worried about dying the moment he was launched?

”What can I do?”

Fang Zheng spread his hands helplessly.

”You can use your warship to send him up, right? Since the old gentleman merely wants to see the universe, it would be the same if you sent him up with your warship.”

”It’s not the same.”

However, in response to Eiriri’s suggestion, Fang Zheng shook his head and looked at the back of the Chief of Shaping Type without saying much. In fact, Fang Zheng could understand the Chief’s thought process.

Indeed, there weren’t many idiots among White Tower Mages, and the chiefs were exceptionally intelligent. Certainly, they knew their magitech warship couldn’t fly up, but Fang Zheng’s warship surely could reach there.

Why didn’t they ask for help?

Simply put, it was due to the pride of technical personnel.

Mages are explorers, researchers, and forerunners of Magic. They won’t bow their heads before exhausting all experimental methods. Only when they’ve tried every possible method and still can’t achieve their goals will they consider asking for assistance.

Moreover... it’s always more reassuring to rely on one’s own technology than someone else’s.

White Tower easily agreed to Fang Zheng demonstrating the communication network because they hadn’t made any breakthroughs in this area. Much like how Ogrande anticipated, White Tower and the Magitech Nation hadn’t researched much in the realm of long-distance communication. Most of them hadn’t realized what an information society represents. Plus, although Heavenly Dao Palace isn’t their ally, it is a friend.

Thus, to gain this ”small” convenience, the Magitech Nation allowed Heavenly Dao Palace to showcase the Crystal Tower and mobile phones.

But exploring the sky is different.

Unlike information technology, the Magitech Nation had already begun developing the flight technology tree with their self-created magitech warships and were working to improve and enhance it. In such circumstances, seeking assistance from Fang Zheng would mean altogether abandoning the efforts of Magitech Nation over hundreds of years and opting to ”cling” to someone else.

This is wholly unacceptable for any ambitious technical researcher.

Whether it’s technology or Magic, it’s the same.

Fang Zheng’s country is like this too: due to foreign blockades, many technology trees had to be climbed from scratch, so he exceptionally respects these researchers’ self-esteem. After all, without the pride of these researchers, his country could not stand in the forest of world nations and might end up like some foolish nation where drinking river water leads to code errors that crash commercial aircraft, living as parasites forever.

The idea that creating it is inferior to buying, and buying is inferior to renting is treason!

Therefore, even knowing the Chief of Shaping Type’s plan, Fang Zheng didn’t attempt to stop it, and...

”Don’t worry, these mages can’t die even if they play with death.”

If it were on Earth and researchers wanted to experiment on themselves, Fang Zheng would certainly intervene. But in this world, a Chief of Shaping Type, a Legendary Mage...

Hmm... Fang Zheng felt even if the world ended, they’d be among the last to perish.

Because a mage’s escape skill is well-known, this is why they are so eager to play with death.

Because most of the time, even if they tried, they wouldn’t die.

Just like Colette, the Chief of Necromancer Class, who attempted to revive dead cells seemingly without even considering the potential Resident Evil, because she herself was an Undead Creature—an immortal Vampire and a Legendary Necromancer Mage.

No matter how much a mere cell mutates, killing her with it would be impossible.

So Fang Zheng was confident Colette, when experimenting, didn’t even consider safety issues, nor did she care about bio-pollution or leakage.

Yet others still need to consider...

Therefore, Fang Zheng issued orders to the Stone Village stationed in the Main World’s near-Earth orbit, along with two Destroyers, to keep an eye on the issue here.

Hmm... I wonder how the Chief would react upon seeing them after rushing into space.

Sure enough, just as Fang Zheng expected, when the Chief of Shaping Type announced his plan to everyone, nearly everyone applauded enthusiastically, with no one shouting ”Old man, you’re tired of living” or ”This is basically suicide” – which was quite normal, as saying such things might result in not knowing who’s going to die first.

Then Fang Zheng saw the Chief of Shaping Type cheerfully greeting everyone before moving to the side of the missile, opening a Magic door and entering it. In the next moment, accompanied by the Radiance of Teleportation Spell, the ”missile” vanished from everyone’s view and was subsequently teleported into the giant barrel tens of meters high.

Oh, right, it’s not called a missile. According to the Chief of Shaping Type, this is a small Mage Tower. He intends to launch this small Mage Tower to the sky, and if conditions permit, he might even want to fix this Mage Tower atop the sky as an observation station...

Thus, this world, just stepping into the industrial revolution era, suddenly completed all the preparation work of launching rockets and building a near-Earth space station.

This is enough to make nearly a century’s worth of aviation and aerospace scientists on Earth cough up blood and die.

”How likely do you think he is to succeed, Nymph?”

Standing at a distance, Fang Zheng curiously gazed at the cannon in front and asked the Little Angel beside him. Facing Fang Zheng’s inquiry, Nymph thought for a moment and cautiously gave her answer.

”Currently, the success rate is not low.”

”Huh? Really?”

Hearing Nymph’s response, Eiriri was increasingly surprised. To be honest, if she were to observe, this thing... however you look at it seems impossible to succeed!

”After all, extraordinary results come from significant force; let’s just watch.”

While saying this, Fang Zheng snapped his fingers, and in the next moment, protective barriers emerged, enveloping the three securely. Following promptly, a dazzling flash exploded from the barrel, illuminating the entire sky.

The massive air blast, accompanied by a deafening, sonorous explosion, virtually enveloped the entire sky. Fortunately, due to the protection of Protection Magic, Fang Zheng and the others weren’t harmed by the colossal sound and explosion brilliance.

However... other onlookers weren’t that lucky.

”This is the consequence of watching an atomic bomb explosion test without wearing sunglasses.”

Watching the nobility and mages lying not far, rolling on the ground, Fang Zheng silently retorted, then waved his hand to open his personal terminal.

Next, let’s see how far this bravest and most adventurous Chief in human history can go.
