Super Gene Hunting Ground

Chapter 100: Chapter 100 Survival of the Fittest (Fifth Update)

Zhou Qiang was originally resentful about the setback he suffered at Kongming Academy that day, and upon hearing Kong Tianqing’s accusations, he was instantly filled with righteous indignation and said excitedly to Xia Luo:

”Boss, the people at Kongming Academy are too much. If we don’t punish them a bit, they’ll really think we’re easy to bully everywhere. How about I and Qing-ge take five hundred people and charge into Kongming Academy, seize their territory, and set up a teleportation station?”

Xia Luo was silent for a moment, glanced at everyone, and said:

”Tianqing, how many of them are there?”

”Uh? About a few dozen, I guess.”

”Don’t you guys have Small Blood Pills? You can fully recover your injuries in five minutes. With your level of Genetic Evolution, how could a dozen of you not take them down?”

Kong Tianqing was taken aback and said:

”We had just gone through a tough battle with mutated dogs when they suddenly rushed out. How could we have had time to take the Small Blood Pill? What, you don’t believe me? If you’re scared, I’ll go challenge the people of Kongming Academy myself. I refuse to believe I can’t redeem this situation.”

Kong Tianqing suddenly shouted angrily.

Xia Luo smiled and said:

”I just want to understand their Evolution Level. If we really want revenge, once we tear our masks off with the people of Kongming Academy, the situation might be more severe than you think.”

”What do you mean?”

Kong Tianqing retorted.

”I just came back from the Genetic Store. On the map inside the Genetic Store, I saw that Kongming Academy’s Evolution Level is now 4, we are 5, and furthermore, the city separated from us by a river has already jumped from 5 to 7.”

”Oh? 7?”

Everyone gasped in astonishment.

Xianan University has the natural mutated creatures treasure trove of Biyun Mountain, making it convenient to hunt mutated creatures and obtain Genetic Fragments. Despite tirelessly working every day, its overall Evolution Level is still only 5. However, it didn’t expect the city to jump 2 points in the same time frame, reaching an Evolution Level of 7.

What’s the situation inside the city?

Xia Luo paused for a moment and continued:

”Just yesterday, people came over from Star City, located fifty kilometers away, asking to open a teleportation station with us. The people from Star City are still waiting for my reply at our school.”

Everyone was once again shocked.

Star City is a county near Nanmu City, at least 50 kilometers away from Xianan University. How did they pierce through the dense fog and get here?

It seemed Xia Luo noticed the doubts on everyone’s faces and said:

”They came by car.”

”Cars?”

Even though it’s a post-apocalyptic world, many cars are still intact. If there’s enough gasoline, they can still be used. The campus of Xianan University and nearby Nine-tails City have many parked cars, but most don’t have keys and cannot be used.

The students from the electronics department know how to disassemble and reassemble cars, pulling out the two wires needed for ignition and using them to start the engines. At Xia Luo’s special request, the electronics department students prepared ten cars. However, many roads outside are blocked by the rubble of collapsed buildings, greatly reducing the cars’ usefulness, and there are no places to refuel for long-distance trips.

”The people from Star City modified a large truck, welding thick iron mesh around it. This time, they brought ten people.”

Kong Tianqing listened and said dismissively:

”If they want to open it up, just open it up? We can also go to Star City through the teleportation station and see what’s going on there.”

Xia Luo unhappily glanced at Kong Tianqing and said:

”I can tell you simply; Star City’s current Genetic Evolution Level is the same as ours, 5, and they have more than 3,000 people. If we rashly open the teleportation station and people from Star City flood into Xianan University, once the situation spirals out of control, if they have other motives, how would you handle it?”

”I?”

Kong Tianqing was stunned and unable to answer.

”Boss, then what do you plan to do?”

Zhou Qiang asked.

”I am also unsure now. Before confirming Star City’s intentions, I will not agree to open the teleportation station with them. It’s just like our request to open one with Kongming Academy. Why did they refuse? Isn’t it because they’re afraid we’ll control and annex them?”

As soon as Kongming Academy was mentioned, Kong Tianqing’s anger flared up.

”Xia Luo, you decide whether or not to open the teleportation station with Star City, but the grudge of Kongming Academy killing several of Zhou Qiang’s brothers last time, and now killing more than a dozen of my brothers this time, I must avenge this! If you’re afraid, I’ll take the lead.”

Upon hearing this, Xia Luo’s face changed, and he sneered:

”Kong Tianqing, you always think you’re so great. Did snagging the equipment dropped by the Enhanced Gene dog make you feel like you can replace me?”

As Xia Luo said this, everyone present stared at Kong Tianqing, who bit his teeth and raised his head, saying:

”If you can’t avenge the brothers who died, you don’t deserve to be our boss!”

”Heh, fine, then you go to Kongming Academy for revenge. Didn’t your Physics College have more than 300 people? Take them with you. If you can conquer Kongming Academy, you can become the boss of it. How about it?”

”You said it, everyone here can testify.”

Kong Tianqing suddenly felt excited inside.

Xia Luo looked very seriously at Kong Tianqing:

”I said it, and everyone can testify. However, if you fail to conquer Kongming Academy and suffer heavy losses, you’ll bear the consequences yourself!”

”Haha, fine, if I can’t conquer Kongming Academy, I’ll resign from the vice-chairman position and henceforth follow your command with peace of mind.”

Kong Tianqing stared straight at Xia Luo.

Although he was part of the Physics College, realistically taking away more than 300 people from there without Xia Luo’s order was impossible, and no one would go with him.

Leaving Xianan University with three hundred people poses a survival issue. Although everyone has the mentality of small groups, when it comes to survival and prospects, they’ll consider the entire big group’s rules and won’t dare to act rashly.

Now that Xia Luo agreed to let him take people out to conquer Kongming Academy, he had a good reason. Even if he failed, the students from the Physics College could return to Xianan University and continue living together.

Suppressing his inner excitement, Kong Tianqing turned and left, while the fiery desire in his heart burned. It’s difficult to replace Xia Luo at Xianan University, but now there was such an excellent opportunity to try his luck.

After Kong Tianqing left, Zhou Qiang moved closer to Xia Luo and said quietly:

”Boss, are you really going to let him take the people from the Physics College away? They’re the elite, you know.”

”Didn’t you always want revenge on Kongming Academy too?”

”Me?”

Zhou Qiang’s expression became awkward. Last time, leading 200 people to a setback at Kongming Academy made him always feel depressed.

”Organize 500 elites. After Kong Tianqing sets off tomorrow, follow them quietly. Remember, there should be at least a two-hour gap. No matter how fiercely Kong Tianqing fights with the people of Kongming Academy, you must not interfere or even appear before them.”

”Boss, you mean?”

”Hmph, Kong Tianqing always thinks he’s so impressive, publicly confronting me multiple times. To preserve unity in the larger picture, I didn’t bother with him. This time, let’s have him try and bang his head against the nails. Once he suffers major losses, let’s see if he still has the strength to challenge me?”

After speaking, Xia Luo turned and left.

Zhou Qiang and Xia Luo were originally friends from the same class and dorm, and as he watched Xia Luo’s departing figure, a chill involuntarily rose in his heart.

In the post-apocalyptic world, human nature is ever-changing.

Food, survival, resources, space for development, competitors... Humanity seemed to have returned overnight to primitive society, facing the cruelty and ugliness of human nature.

Survival of the fittest is the only supreme law in the apocalypse!
