Super Gene Hunting Ground

Chapter 59: Chapter 59 Emergency Evacuation

In an instant, dozens of people rushed toward the center of the pool.

Qin Yu and Deng Xiao flapped their wings, just reaching a few meters above the water’s surface, when they suddenly heard several sharp sounds, as several gleaming bone spurs broke through the water, shooting towards them.

The two of them had anticipated this when they dove down, and upon seeing the bone spurs coming, they immediately altered their flight path and swiftly dodged.

Circling once, Qin Yu and Deng Xiao dove towards the water’s surface again, their target being the Sparrow King on the water.

At this moment, the sparrows continuously circling in the sky seemed to sense something unusual, and they all flew down, preparing to rescue the Sparrow King.

These giant sparrows did not attack Qin Yu and Deng Xiao but flew directly toward the water, shooting down Feathered Arrows at the water’s surface.

These sparrows could only shoot one arrow at a time, unlike the Sparrow King, who could shoot hundreds at once.

Hundreds of Feathered Arrows rained down toward the water’s surface.

However, the power of these sparrows’ arrows was insufficient, and the water further reduced their impact. The tilapia, with its hard Scale Armor, was not fatally harmed by these arrows.

At that moment, Huang Wen had already flown near Qin Yu and Deng Xiao and shouted loudly:

”Qin Yu, are you crazy, trying to get yourself killed? Retreat quickly!”

”Huang Wen, we have no way out. If we don’t listen to Xiao Zhe, we’ll be kicked out of the team and find it hard to survive in the future. We have no choice but to take a gamble.”

”Don’t be naive; you will die. Take advantage of the sparrows and tilapia battling and leave quickly. If Xiao Zhe kicks you out, come and find me, join our team.”

”No, Huang Wen, I won’t trouble you. Even if I die, I must capture that Sparrow King. I don’t believe it. If others can succeed, why can’t I, Qin Yu?”

Qin Yu, who was once a campus beauty, was always proud. Now suddenly thrown into this post-apocalyptic world, where social rules between people have abruptly changed, even a girl like Feifei has earned respect through her own Evolution, so Qin Yu hoped she could too.

Gritting her teeth, Qin Yu charged towards the water’s surface.

The tilapia now engaged with the sparrows on the water couldn’t attend to the Sparrow King.

When Qin Yu dove down, aside from two bone spurs shooting at her, there were no more arrows; she was pleased internally and reached out her claws to grasp the dying Sparrow King on the water’s surface, spreading her wings and soaring.

”Wow, Qin Yu succeeded!”

Xu Hua shouted as he ran.

Xiao Zhe exclaimed excitedly:

”Yang Xiao, the Sparrow King is ours! You can’t take it!”

Yang Xiao, standing more than ten meters from the pool, saw Qin Yu capture the Sparrow King off the water surface and shouted loudly:

”Put down the Sparrow King quickly! Put it down! Huang Wen, come back quickly; it’s dangerous!”

Yang Xiao was so anxious, he turned to Xiao Zhe, who was running over, saying:

”You’ve put everyone’s life at risk, do you even know? Is the Sparrow King that easy to capture? There are over a hundred sparrows in the sky that won’t give up their lives for it?”

Xiao Zhe was stunned into silence, while Xu Hua said:

”Yang Xiao, are you jealous that we caught the Sparrow King? We got it through our skills; it’s ours.”

Yang Xiao ignored Xu Hua’s provocation and just shouted into the sky:

”Huang Wen, leave immediately, or I won’t collect your remains.”

After speaking, he turned and ran towards the camp on the shore.

Feifei was stunned,

”Boss?”

”Why stand dazed, waiting to die? Hurry up and run back!”

Though Feifei and the others didn’t understand, they already trusted Yang Xiao unconditionally, and immediately followed him, running back.

In the sky, Huang Wen heard Yang Xiao’s words, saw him turn and run back, looked at Qin Yu and Deng Xiao protect the Sparrow King as they flew to the sandy beach by the pool, then spread her wings and chased after Yang Xiao.

Huang Wen, faster than Yang Xiao, caught up with him in just a few steps, landed on the sand, and reverted back to her original form.

”Boss, what happened?”

”Go to the camp immediately, grab the smoked fish, and head down the mountain.”

”Boss, why so urgent? There’s still the Tilapia King in the pool!”

Chen Fei said.

”If you’re not afraid to die, then wait here. I’m afraid; I’m going. Long hair, short knowledge, you’ll be the death of me.”

Yang Xiao shot to the camp with an arrow-like speed, shouting loudly:

”Everyone listen, pack up. Only take the main smoked fish meat; drop anything else you can. We must retreat off the mountain within five minutes.”

Everyone was dumbfounded, looking at Yang Xiao.

Yang Xiao roared:

”Why are you stunned? Immediately, quickly, move!”

Yang Xiao himself picked up a fish weighing over twenty pounds in each hand and walked out of the camp toward the mountain.

The girls shrieked in surprise, immediately lifting dozens of smoked fish, scrambling, and following Yang Xiao.

Huang Wen and the others were puzzled; it was their first time seeing Yang Xiao so nervous.

The group ran two miles non-stop following Yang Xiao, panting as they asked:

”Boss, what’s so urgent? There’s still a whole pool of fish there. Won’t that profit Xiao Zhe and his group?”

Yang Xiao glanced back; there were no sparrows in the sky following them. He sighed deeply and said:

”If Xiao Zhe’s group makes it down alive, it’s their luck. Let’s speed up and return to the camp to be safe.”

...

Qin Yu, transformed into a lark, carried the dying Sparrow King to a sandy beach tens of meters from the pool, and dropped it directly.

The Sparrow King let out a mournful wail.

Qin Yu and Deng Xiao landed on the ground, returning to their true forms.

Xiao Zhe and Xu Hua, leading a dozen people, ran over with delighted faces.

”Qin Yu, you’ve made a great contribution this time. The treasures that fall from the Sparrow King belong partially to you.”

Qin Yu coldly glanced at Xiao Zhe and said:

”Xiao Zhe, I’ve been in your team for over a month. During this time, I owe you for taking care of me; now, I’m returning the favor. From now on, I owe you nothing, and nothing to everyone else. But, I declare from now on, I’m leaving your team.”

”You?”

Xiao Zhe was somewhat stunned, looking at Qin Yu.

Aside, Xu Hua sneered and said:

”Qin Yu, you should think this over. Without us, surviving will be hard for you.”

”That’s my own business, even death, so what?”

Qin Yu recalled the harsh words Xiao Zhe and the team used to force her to capture the Sparrow King, making her even more resolute. She glanced at Deng Xiao and asked:

”Deng Xiao, I’m leaving this team; what about you?”

Deng Xiao smiled and said:

”I’ll come with you!”

”Alright, we’ll go now.”

The two of them, after speaking, activated their Beast Soul again, spread their wings, and flew into the sky, heading down the mountain.

Xiao Zhe shouted harshly:

”Qin Yu, don’t regret this. Even if Huang Wen’s group takes you in, you’ll regret it sooner or later.”

Inside, Xiao Zhe felt a bit reluctant; first, he hadn’t won over Qin Yu yet, and secondly, Qin Yu and Deng Xiao were the only two in the team with Bird Beast Souls. Their departure meant losing two unique talents.

But with the Sparrow King before him, he currently had no mind to concern himself with this matter.
