Super Gene Hunting Ground

Chapter 80: Chapter 80 I Take an Arrow for You

After Yang Xiao finished speaking, he nocked another arrow on the sparrow bow in his hand, aiming at the three companions coming to rescue Li Wei.

Everyone was astonished!

”I admire the courage of you three, risking your lives to save your brother, that’s commendable, but unfortunately, I am your enemy now. For not following the rules and challenging me first, I must teach you a lesson. Of course, I don’t want to go too far, I’ll only kill one of you three.”

Buzz!

Everyone’s mind was buzzing with shock; Yang Xiao was going to kill one more person?

The thunderous methods and ruthlessness Yang Xiao displayed earlier had already shocked everyone, whether from Xianan University or Kongming Academy.

The difference was that people from Xianan University felt terror, while those from Kongming Academy felt awe.

In a post-apocalyptic world, also a chaotic world, there is no law, no morality; to intimidate opponents and internal people, besides having high cultivation, one must also be ruthless and decisive, even with a benevolent heart, one must use thunderclap methods.

At the beginning of the catastrophe, Yang Xiao was uninvolved, choosing to retreat alone to the mountains for safety. Later, he joined Huang Wen’s team to help everyone survive and grow, always harboring goodwill and being forgiving. This approach might work in a small group, but if facing a large group with various factions, it absolutely wouldn’t work.

Yang Xiao initially never thought about leading the 2,000 survivors of Kongming Academy, only about wandering alone, surviving the apocalypse, and quickly improving his genetic evolution ability.

However, recent events gradually enlightened him.

Besides his own efforts, the power of a team is the foundation for his accelerated growth, and having the strength of a team gives him a strategic advantage in the harsh competition outside.

Zhao Gang being chased by people from Xianan University in Nine-tails City, and today Zhou Qiang swaggering in with people, fully proved this point.

He was not only facing Huang Wen, Xiao Zhe, Zhao Gang, and others, nor just the 2,000 survivors of Kongming Academy.

He would face more powerful figures like Li Wei, Zhou Qiang, Xia Luo, more formidable forces like Xianan University, and possibly one day, confront the colossal entity behind the Genetic Store.

Regarding the mysterious power behind the Genetic Store, he had always felt curious and terrified, deliberately avoiding thinking about it. With his current strength, he was still far from unravelling this mystery.

But he knew that eventually, he or all of humanity would have to face this mysterious power.

He needed to accelerate the pace of genetic evolution, to become stronger and stronger.

This sudden incident thrust Yang Xiao to the forefront of the Kongming Academy team, giving him the opportunity to become a future core leader, so he planned to use this unexpected event to complete a personal transformation and become the leader of Kongming Academy.

”Yang Xiao, don’t go too far!”

Zhou Qiang could no longer control himself and stepped forward.

Yang Xiao said coldly:

”The challenge agreement was your promise; your men didn’t abide by it and must face punishment. I’m already showing mercy by only killing one; otherwise, I’d kill all three.”

Zhou Qiang glanced at his three injured teammates; all were shot in the thigh, naturally unable to dodge Yang Xiao’s arrows.

It seemed Yang Xiao did it intentionally, adding a layer of awe to his ruthlessness.

If Yang Xiao were to kill another teammate, Zhou Qiang couldn’t face his partners, nor hope to mix in the future. But having the two schools fight wasn’t an option either.

Zhou Qiang gritted his teeth and said:

”Yang Xiao, it was us who violated first; it’s my fault for not managing my brothers well. I’ll take the responsibility and replace them to take your arrow, how about it?”

”Boss!”

Zhou Qiang’s three teammates looked at Zhou Qiang.

Initially, they were dissatisfied with Zhou Qiang for not saving Li Wei, but now, seeing Zhou Qiang willing to take Yang Xiao’s arrow for them, they were deeply moved.

Not only them, but even the other 200 teammates also now looked at Zhou Qiang differently, with internal dissatisfaction swept away, replacing it with respect.

Yang Xiao himself felt some admiration for him; compared to people like Xiao Zhe and Xu Hua, who let others take the fall or flee when danger arose, Zhou Qiang’s actions were commendable.

”Okay, I admire you as a man, but I won’t hold back.”

”Heh, the first level of Feather Arrow Skill, an arrow shot produces two arrow shadows. Although powerful, you lack the skill to hurt me, come on.”

Zhou Qiang stood proudly, eyes fixed on Yang Xiao, and suddenly transformed into a 2-meter-tall gibbon.

Zhou Qiang’s beast soul was the gibbon, with his agility attribute reaching 8 points. Coupled with a necklace adding +2 agility, Zhou Qiang’s agility attribute reached 10 points.

Such a genetic attribute was rare even at Xianan University.

”Yang Xiao, today I’ll show you there is always someone stronger, and a higher mountain to climb. I’ll catch your arrow barehanded while standing still... heh, don’t overestimate yourself.”

Today, Zhou Qiang felt quite stifled, with nowhere to vent his energy. He wanted to show off, intimidate Yang Xiao and the others from Kongming Academy.

Does a tiger need to show its strength for you to stop seeing it as a sick cat?

”Alright, it’s your performance time, as you wish. As long as you catch my arrow, no matter the result, you can leave Kongming Academy with your people.”

Yang Xiao spoke indifferently while raising the sparrow bow, with everyone around holding their breath.

The outcome of Yang Xiao versus Zhou Qiang would directly become everyone’s criterion for judging the strength difference between the two schools.

”Shoot!”

Yang Xiao roared,

with the bow full and the arrow like a meteor.

With a swoosh,

an arrow shadow shot out like lightning, instantly arriving before Zhou Qiang.

Zhou Qiang indeed didn’t dodge, standing firmly on the grass, eyes fixed intently on the incoming feathered arrow.

Pop!

The feathered arrow suddenly exploded, splitting into three!

Into three?

Yang Xiao’s Feather Arrow Skill was actually level 2?

Zhou Qiang didn’t have time to think, as his left and right hands each grasped an arrow shadow.

But what about the third arrow shadow?

This exceeded Zhou Qiang’s expectations and abilities.

He couldn’t catch it and had to dodge.

Zhou Qiang ignored his earlier boast about catching arrows barehanded, focusing on saving his life, and urgently evaded.

However, it was too late.

Thud!

The third arrow shadow pierced his left shoulder; luckily, he dodged quickly, or it would have hit his chest.

The whole place gasped, then fell silent.
