Super Gene Hunting Ground

Chapter 98: Chapter 98 Equipment Upgrade (Part 3)

杨啸 took out ten Enhanced Gene Discs and handed them to Gu Bo, who examined them and said:

”This is from the drop of an Enhanced Gene Creature, and the synthesis fee also requires 2 Enhanced Gene Fragments. Of course, you can also pay with Primordial Gene Fragments, just double the amount.”

”Yeah, that’s no problem.”

杨啸 said, taking out 40 Gene Fragments and handing them to Gu Bo.

Gu Bo turned around and placed the ten Enhanced Gene Discs into the mysterious device used to synthesize Genetic Potions. Moments later, a light flashed on the box, followed by a ”ding” sound.

”Done!”

Gu Bo walked over, opened the mysterious device, and took out a large Crystal Bottle filled with red liquid.

Gu Bo handed the Crystal Bottle to 杨啸,

”Don’t say I didn’t warn you, drink it in ten portions, don’t gulp it all down at once.”

Last time, 杨啸 drank several bottles of Genetic Potion in one go, feeling dizzy on the spot and nearly fainting. This time, he naturally wouldn’t be that hasty.

杨啸 nodded his head, then took out twenty complete Primordial Gene Discs searched from the corpses of Xiao Hei and his companions, tossing them to Gu Bo, including four red Strength Attribute Gene Discs.

”Fuse these four into Genetic Potion for him.”

杨啸 pointed at Long Yongjun next to him. Long Yongjun nearly jumped up in surprise.

There were also three purple Gene Discs and three black Gene Discs, which 杨啸 had Gu Bo synthesize into potions and then took them to a table in the store lobby to drink slowly.

Long Yongjun, holding the Genetic Potion, also moved to 杨啸’s table and began drinking.

Chen Fei, Qin Yu, and Deng Xiao currently had more than 800 Gene Fragments in hand. The three pooled resources and used 720 Gene Fragments to synthesize 60 portions of the Genetic Potion, averaging 20 portions per person.

The remaining hundred or so Gene Fragments were all exchanged for Crystal Coins, with each person receiving more than 40 Crystal Coins.

The three girls, holding their Genetic Potions, also came to 杨啸’s table and excitedly started drinking.

Everyone’s Genetic Evolution Level was different, so the amount of Genetic Potion needed to upgrade Genetic Attributes varied.

杨啸’s Genetic Evolution Level was higher than others, and after drinking ten portions of Enhanced Genetic Potion, it only increased his Strength by 1 point. The three portions of Agility Genetic Potion had no effect, and the three portions of Defense Genetic Potion didn’t improve his Defense Value either.

However, after Long Yongjun drank four portions of Genetic Potion, his Strength increased from 3 to 4, meaning with his Dog Blood Blade having 5 points of Strength, he could instantly stack his Strength to 9 points.

杨啸 now had a Strength of 8, Agility of 9, and both Defense and Wisdom at 5 points.

杨啸 dragged Long Yongjun back to the counter again.

”Gu Bo, I want to buy some equipment and jewelry. Do you have any good recommendations?”

Gu Bo smiled:

”Why, did you strike it rich? Hmm, the equipment mainly consists of chest armor, pants, helmets, and shoes. Jewelry mainly includes necklaces, two earrings, two rings, and bracelets. Hairpins are for women only. However, I currently only have cloth armor, boots, hairpins, and bracelets. The rest is temporarily unavailable.”

”Why?”

”This is related to your Genetic Evolution Level. The higher your evolution level, and the more Gene Fragments you trade with me, the Genetic Store here will level up, allowing it to sell more items and higher-level items, like Hard Armor, which is available at the Xianan University Genetic Store, but not here yet. The overall Evolution Level must reach 4 points here for Hard Armor to appear...”

While speaking, Gu Bo suddenly glanced at 杨啸,

”You’ve been in this store for over 8 minutes, and 3 minutes remain,”

He pointed at Long Yongjun and said:

”He only has 2 minutes left. Decide quickly what you want to buy, or you’ll be forcibly ejected from the Genetic Store when the time is up, and you’ll have to wait 2 hours before you can enter again. Of course, you can also go out now, check the prices of the various equipment and jewelry on the walls of the Genetic Store, and come directly to me when you’ve made a decision, saving everyone’s time.”

Now, more and more people were coming to trade at the Genetic Store, and Gu Bo and his assistant were very busy. To avoid everyone standing in the store for a long time, a rule was set from the beginning, allowing you to stay only 10 minutes each time.

However, the more one trades with the Genetic Store, the more their personal reputation level will invisibly increase, gradually extending the time they can stay in the store.

杨啸 can now stay in the Genetic Store for about 11 minutes.

杨啸 was stunned upon hearing this,

”There’s such an operation here?”

He pulled Long Yongjun and ran out of the Genetic Store.

At this time, Qin Yu and Deng Xiao had already raised their Agility to 5 points, and Chen Fei had raised her Wisdom to 6 points. They also ran out of the store to check the equipment price list on the wall.

This was a display similar to an LED electronic screen, showing the prices of various equipment and jewelry.

杨啸 glanced over it, seeing only the most basic Black Longsword, staff, and cloth armor, along with some bracelets and hairpins.

In the list was a Longsword that increased Strength by 3 points. The price immediately jumped to 100 Crystal Coins.

Compared to the ordinary Longsword with +2 Strength, it suddenly increased by 97 Crystal Coins.

”Damn, this is one ridiculous jump in price!”

杨啸 muttered.

A young man nearby glanced at 杨啸 and said:

”I once heard Gu Bo say that those most basic pieces of equipment are to help provide everyone with basic combat power to fight against Mutated Creatures, so they are priced cheaply.”

杨啸 nodded, sort of understanding.

In the early stages of the cataclysm, human Genetic Evolution was slower than other creatures. Without proper equipment to arm humans and increase combat power, humans would not be able to fight against Mutated Creatures.

杨啸 originally had a pair of Wind-controlling Boots with +2% movement speed. He saw a new pair of Wind-controlling Boots with +3% movement speed, but the price had jumped from 3 Crystal Coins to 100 Crystal Coins.

Strangely, there was no Hard Armor listed, only cloth armor. Cloth armor with +2 Defense was priced at 10 Crystal Coins, and the price for +3 Defense was 100 Crystal Coins.

The helmet and pants section was empty with nothing listed.

For jewelry, there were only two options: bracelets, which were unisex, and hairpins, which were only for women.

Both bracelets and hairpins had a maximum of +2 points, costing 3 Crystal Coins, with all four attributes available.

As for the rings, earrings, and necklaces that Gu Bo mentioned, they seemed to be out of stock.

”Why is there no Hard Armor here? No higher-level equipment?”

When 杨啸 posed this question, Qin Yu beside him said:

”I asked Gu Bo about this, and he said it’s related to our development level. Our current overall Genetic Evolution Level is 3, so the store can only sell low-level equipment for now.

He also said that if we connect with other sites via teleport station, we can purchase high-level equipment from higher-tier Genetic Stores. Of course, the prices are also very high.”
