Super Gene Hunting Ground

Chapter 92: Chapter 92: Enhanced Gene Dog

”The third outcome?”

Everyone looked at Yang Xiao.

Yang Xiao nodded.

”The third outcome is that maybe Kong Tianqing and the mutant dogs will both suffer losses. In that case, we have nothing to fear.”

Yang Xiao originally wanted to say ”we can sit back and reap the benefits,” but looking at Kong Tianqing not far in the firelight, he knew they could hear him clearly, so he held back.

Some things are better left unsaid as long as one understands them.

Qin Yu glanced at Yang Xiao and said:

”What if it’s one of the first two outcomes?”

Yang Xiao let out a long sigh,

”Then it’s our bad luck. At that point, remember, flee if you can, especially Qin Yu and Deng Xiao. You two can fly, so there’s nothing to fear. Fly into the darkness; they can’t find you. Fly back as soon as it’s daylight, and if you can save Chen Fei, take her with you. Long Yongjun and I will cover the back.”

”Yang Xiao!”

”Boss!”

Qin Yu, Deng Xiao, and Chen Fei looked at Yang Xiao, their hearts trembling slightly.

Chen Fei’s eyes were moist, and she grabbed Yang Xiao’s arm:

”Boss, I’ll die with you!”

”Don’t talk nonsense; I don’t want to die yet. We must cherish any chance to survive. It’s not easy to live in the apocalypse, so treasure life.”

Chen Fei held back her tears, nodded, but couldn’t help herself, tears rolling down her cheeks.

Qin Yu and Deng Xiao’s noses stung, and they turned their heads, tears falling.

”What are you doing? It’s not time to part forever; be happy, alright!”

Yang Xiao said.

Suddenly, Long Yongjun patted his head and whispered mysteriously:

”Boss, can’t Kong Tianqing hear everything we’re saying?”

Yang Xiao smiled faintly and said:

”What do you think?”

Qin Yu wiped her tears dry, gave Yang Xiao a deep look, and said:

”Now the arrow is on the bowstring, and everyone knows each other’s intentions. Boss is making it clear to the other side, letting them understand not to act rashly. If it really comes to the crunch, I would rather die noble than live in shame.”

Qin Yu spoke resolutely.

At this moment, a golden light erupted from Kong Tianqing’s side, shining brightly. The mutant dogs on the ground began to howl and bark incessantly. Kong Tianqing and his seven men nervously held their weapons, watching the mutant wolf on the ground intently.

The mutant wolf’s body was continuously swelling, its four tied legs kicking frantically, causing the chains to clatter.

Someone started to fear, tremblingly saying:

”Brother Qing, how about we kill it now before it breaks through the Enhanced Gene Stage, just in case...”

Kong Tianqing shouted in a low voice:

”Coward! I’m not afraid, why should you be?”

Woof, woof, woof...

The mutant dog barked loudly, its voice shaking the valley. Its body flashed with golden light, and its form kept swelling, so much so that even Yang Xiao and others in the distance could see the silhouette of the mutant dog in the golden light.

”Damn, this dog has turned into a bull!”

Long Yongjun shouted.

Yang Xiao took the sparrow bow from his back and set an arrow on the string.

”Long Yongjun and Chen Fei, be on guard with me. Qin Yu, Deng Xiao, you two remove the fire in the middle and transfer it to the outer bonfire.”

These were the three bonfires Yang Xiao prepared last night for unexpected situations, unused until now.

Yang Xiao, Long Yongjun, and Chen Fei stood side by side, watching the front warily, while Qin Yu and Deng Xiao quickly moved some burning wood to the new bonfire. After a moment, the new bonfire blazed fiercely, flames soaring.

”Woof, woof, woof...”

With a huge bark, the golden light on the mutant dog burst forth, and with a kick of its four feet, the chains binding its feet snapped with a loud clang.

It suddenly flipped itself over, ready to stand up.

Kong Tianqing and others were shocked, trembling as they shouted:

”It broke through, kill it!”

Kong Tianqing’s golden longsword stabbed at the mutant dog, and the remaining six wielded their weapons similarly.

The mutant dog had just completed its breakthrough, and being stabbed by seven people suddenly, it couldn’t withstand it. Seven weapons pierced into it, but having completed the enhanced gene breakthrough, its defense was greatly improved, and the seven weapons barely broke through the dog’s skin, stabbing a few centimeters into the muscle, then stopped.

”Transform!”

Kong Tianqing roared angrily, instantly transforming into a two-meter-high bull-headed monster, thrusting his sharp sword hard.

With a ripping sound, Kong Tianqing’s sword pierced directly into the mutant dog’s body.

”Damn, it’s the Bull Demon King!”

Long Yongjun shouted, seeing Kong Tianqing’s Beast Soul in the firelight.

”Awoooo—”

The mutant dog howled, its massive body suddenly stood up, and with a shake, all the weapons from the other six people flew out of their hands, except for Kong Tianqing’s.

The mutant dog swatted down one person, pounced, and with a crunch, bit off the other’s head.

Yang Xiao and others watched clearly from afar. After the mutant dog broke through the Enhanced Gene Stage, its combat power greatly increased, terrifyingly so.

Yang Xiao wasn’t sure how much damage Kong Tianqing and others’ first round of attacks had caused the mutant dog, so he quietly said:

”Light the other two bonfires, let’s go, retreat.”

He then grabbed some burning wood and placed them in the other two bonfires, turned around, and started running back.

Chen Fei and others were stunned,

”Boss, where are we going?”

”Anywhere is better than waiting to die here.”

Seeing Qin Yu and Deng Xiao still in a daze, he immediately grabbed their hands and ran into the distance, with Chen Fei and Long Yongjun closely following.

”Ah!”

”Ah!”

Terrible screams came from behind, as Kong Tianqing’s two underlings were pounced upon by the mutant dog.

At this moment, Yang Xiao didn’t have time to look back; the group ran forward anxiously.

Deng Xiao had dispersed the dense fog within 200 meters before dusk; with the firelight behind them, they could barely see the way ahead as the five ran across the valley grassland, hearing Kong Tianqing shouting behind:

”Hold on, fight back hard, kill it!”

Yang Xiao and the others ran a full 300 meters away, entering the fog area, hiding behind a large rock, and turned to look back.

Among the five, Yang Xiao had the best vision.

Yang Xiao’s three bonfires burned fiercely, flames reaching the sky, lighting up the valley like daylight.

Kong Tianqing was left with four men. Each embodied their Beast Soul, struggling to fight the mutant dog enhanced by the gene, and screams occasionally echoed.

The enhanced gene dog was fierce, but Kong Tianqing’s previous sword had pierced its internal organs. As the fight dragged on, the wound bled profusely, and the enhanced gene dog began to show signs of fatigue.

Kong Tianqing had already been bitten five or six times by the mutant dog; meat was bitten off his thighs, calves, back, and chest, causing intense pain and discomfort.

The others were in similar states.

”Everyone hold on; I see the dog can’t last much longer. Little Hei, give me the Small Blood Pill.”

Little Hei took out a porcelain bottle, poured a pill into his mouth, and then threw the bottle to Kong Tianqing,

”There are two left.”

Kong Tianqing caught the bottle, took a pill, then tossed it to the person beside him, and turned to run towards Yang Xiao and others’ bonfire.

The mutant dog chased behind, leaping and pouncing on one person, biting and blowing their head off.

Kong Tianqing’s three men were terrified, running to Yang Xiao and others’ bonfire.

”Dammit, those bastards ran, they’re so cunning!”

Little Hei cursed.

”Stop talking nonsense. The mutant dog was heavily hurt by my sword; it can’t hold on much longer. Everyone, take the Small Blood Pill, let’s finish it off.”
