Super Gene Hunting Ground

Chapter 66: Chapter 66 Selling Food

The Genetic Fragments all emit a faint glow, standing out clearly against the black sand, making them easy to find.

Huang Wen and the others were flying in mid-air, offering a broader view. They quickly spotted dozens of glowing Genetic Fragments on the ground. After transforming into birds, it was inconvenient for them to pick up the Genetic Fragments from the ground, but they could point out directions for Yang Xiao and the others running behind them.

Some of these scattered Genetic Fragments were left behind by fish in the waters caught by the sparrows after their deaths, and the rest were left by the sparrows killed by the Giant Eagles.

Huang Wen spotted three golden glowing objects on the ground from a distance and was overjoyed. She quickly descended to the ground and returned to her human form.

On the beach, there was a golden bow, a golden page, and a golden round Genetic Disk.

”Boss, I found it, here!”

Huang Wen held up the golden bow and shouted excitedly to Yang Xiao.

”Stop yelling, quickly put it away. Everyone, finish picking the Genetic Fragments, each carry a few sparrows back, quickly.”

Yang Xiao called out to everyone.

Each of these mutated sparrows weighed over fifty pounds. The sparrow king had been dead for two days, and its body had started to rot, making it unfit for consumption. However, the freshly killed sparrows by the eagles were still fresh, with some even having a faint breath left.

Moments later, Yang Xiao carried three sparrows in each hand, leading the group down the mountain. The group dragged about twenty or thirty giant sparrows, excited at having encountered the Giant Eagle and fortunately gathered so many Genetic Fragments and the treasures dropped by the sparrow king.

The group returned to the camp on the sports field.

Seeing these dozens of giant sparrows, the girls all cheered, naturally attracting the attention of others on the field.

Yang Xiao gathered Huang Wen and the others and said:

”I have an idea. We currently have enough food, such as these sparrows and the fish we caught earlier. We will capture more mutated creatures in the future. With so much food, we can’t finish it all ourselves, but many people lack food. So, I’m thinking of selling some of the food. What do you guys think?”

”Boss, you decide. We can’t finish it anyway, and it will spoil over time. If we can sell it for money, that’s naturally good.”

”But, what should we exchange it for? This is the apocalypse; even gold isn’t valuable anymore.”

Yang Xiao smiled and said:

”We’ll sell for Crystal Coins, 1 Crystal Coin for a sparrow, or a fish.”

”Crystal Coins?”

Everyone looked at Yang Xiao, finding it a bit challenging since Crystal Coins were so precious.

”I’ve learned that many teams or individuals can occasionally kill some mutated creatures and obtain some Genetic Fragments, although they don’t have enough to exchange for Genetic Potions yet. However, their food is not sufficient. Many people are half-full most of the time, holding one or two Crystal Coins in hand isn’t very meaningful to them. I believe there will be people who come to buy.”

”In fact, Crystal Coins are harder to obtain than food. Like these sparrows that were killed, over twenty sparrows only dropped seven or eight Genetic Fragments. Even if we sell two sparrows for one Crystal Coin, we’d still make a profit.”

Qin Yu suggested.

Yang Xiao nodded, ”Qin Yu is right. Even if we sell two sparrows for one Crystal Coin, we’re still making a profit. Hmm, let’s have Qin Yu in charge of selling the food. Qin Yu, Deng Xiao, and Feifei, you three take some people and start selling the sparrows and fish now.”

”Boss, do we sell all of it?”

Feifei couldn’t help but ask.

Yang Xiao chuckled:

”Sell it all, and we’ll be left with nothing? Leave a third of the food; the rest can all be sold.”

Qin Yu didn’t expect Yang Xiao to entrust such an important task to her, feeling a bit thrilled, and said:

”Yang Xiao, I’m afraid I might not do it well.”

”You’re a student from Kongming Academy in your third year, how can you not handle such a small business? I believe you can do it.”

Encouraged by Yang Xiao’s trust, Qin Yu no longer declined and said immediately:

”Okay!”

Qin Yu, Deng Xiao, and Feifei, along with five or six other girls, moved some grilled fish and about a dozen sparrows outside the camp.

Qin Yu cleared her throat and shouted:

”Hey, selling food here, mutated sparrows, reservoir fish, eating them promotes Genetic Evolution, don’t miss out, everyone...”

Once Qin Yu started shouting, the other girls followed suit, and soon a crowd of over a hundred gathered around.

Qin Yu and Deng Xiao were both campus beauties, and as they stepped forward, a strong vibe of beautiful saleswomen emerged.

”Oh my, isn’t this Qin the beauty? When did you join Yang Xiao’s team?”

”And Deng the beauty, my gosh, when did Yang Xiao’s team become a girl group?”

”Hey, they’re here to sell things, what are you guys commenting about? By the way, Qin Yu, how is your food priced?”

Qin Yu immediately smiled and said:

”Cheap, one Crystal Coin for a sparrow, or a fish.”

”Oh my, that’s not cheap.”

”Exactly, it’s too expensive, besides, we don’t have that many Crystal Coins.”

Qin Yu smiled,

”Expensive? Do you know how rare these sparrows are? Don’t believe me? Try catching one yourself! And these reservoir fish aren’t easy to catch either. It’s not like the ants and insects you eat, this meat contains more powerful Energy, capable of accelerating your Genetic Mutation.”

After Qin Yu said that, everyone found it made some sense.

Seeing some people hesitating, wanting to buy but unable to decide, Deng Xiao added:

”I know Crystal Coins are precious, but what good is keeping one or two Crystal Coins? Why not fill your stomach first, quickly complete your Genetic Mutation, and once you have stronger Combat Power, hunt more mutated creatures, then you can soon collect 12 Genetic Fragments to exchange for a Genetic Potion, right?”

Qin Yu and Deng Xiao, the two beauties, still had some charm, and with their persuasive speeches, soon a young man pulled out a Crystal Coin to buy a sparrow.

”Qin Yu, I’ll buy a sparrow, hmm, tonight I can have a feast.”

Once there was a first, there soon was a second. Before long, three or four people were taking out Crystal Coins to buy food.

Hearing that mutated sparrows and reservoir fish were being sold on the field, more and more onlookers gathered.

...

Huang Wen counted the Genetic Fragments gathered from the pond, totaling 26 pieces, and that didn’t include the golden Genetic Disk dropped by the sparrow king.

”Boss, here.”

Huang Wen handed the golden bow and golden page to Yang Xiao.

Yang Xiao took a look, and on the golden bow were the words ”Sparrow Bow,” with unknown specific attributes, likely needing identification at the Genetic Store.

On that golden page were the words ”Feathered Arrow.”
