The roasted eel, over three meters long, weighed dozens of pounds. Huang Wen and the others were full after eating about half a pound. Yang Xiao ate ten pounds and still wasn’t full, even eating more fiercely. The current inside him kept increasing.

Feifei looked at Yang Xiao and muttered:

”Is the boss transformed from Zhu Bajie?”

The girl next to him covered her mouth and giggled, not expecting that Yang Xiao’s senses were now particularly sharp and had heard what Feifei said.

Yang Xiao threw a piece of leftover eel bone at Feifei,

”You are the reincarnation of Zhu Bajie. Hey, is there anyone else who wants this leftover roasted eel? If not, I’ll eat it.”

Yang Xiao unceremoniously grabbed the remaining third of the roasted eel, tore off the charred skin, and began eating it in big bites.

If one could improve their genetic data by eating, why not do it? It was much simpler than collecting genetic fragments.

In Yang Xiao’s current situation, he wouldn’t feel hungry if he didn’t eat, and even eating more wouldn’t make him feel full because the food quickly transformed into currents and vanished inside him.

Half an hour later, Yang Xiao felt a shock in his mind, focusing inwardly to find a notification issue appeared in his Genetic Data System inside his mind.

”You now have enough energy to increase your genetic data by 1 point. Please choose one attribute to improve from Strength, Agility, Defense, and Wisdom.”

Yang Xiao was stunned; it seemed his body was really different from others. After completing their gene mutation and activating the Genetic Data System, Huang Wen and the others couldn’t improve through food anymore, but he could.

Yang Xiao was delighted and immediately used his mind to choose to increase his Strength Attribute by 1 point.

The Genetic Data System in his mind immediately showed that his Strength Attribute was now 6 points.

This was his base attribute. If he held the Golden Short Sword in battle, it would temporarily add 3 points to the Strength Attribute.

Yang Xiao completed the 1-point Strength Attribute upgrade in a moment, stood up, and said to everyone:

”Everyone full? Prepare yourselves. We’re catching fish this afternoon. Be cautious.”

Xiao Zhe and the others had been impatiently waiting, and when they saw Yang Xiao leading the people over, they quickly approached.

”Yang Xiao, how is it?”

”Xiao Zhe, to deal with the fish in the pit, the simplest way is to drain the water. Without the water, the fish naturally die, but the pit’s terrain is low, and we can’t drain the water anymore.”

”Then what do we do?”

Xiao Zhe looked at Yang Xiao but inwardly cursed: how useless! If draining the water was possible, he would have arranged for it already.

Yang Xiao smiled and said:

”You fell prey to these mutated giant fish not because you’re stupid, but because you underestimated them and didn’t understand the tilapia’s characteristics. Last night, dozens of giant tilapia in this pond shot bone spurs at me. I was almost hit, so I specifically told you not to act rashly, yet you didn’t listen.”

Xiao Zhe and the others could only swallow their pride hearing this, lowering their heads silently.

Yang Xiao didn’t continue to criticize them, after all, they had lost two people, and including the girl who was swallowed yesterday, Xiao Zhe’s team had lost three members.

”Alright, I won’t be long-winded. Call out everyone in your team who knows Ice Ball Elemental Attack.”

A moment later, three people from Xiao Zhe’s team who understood the Ice Element stood up. Yang Xiao then called out Chen Lu and another girl from his team who understood the Ice Element.

A total of five people.

Yang Xiao also instructed Xiao Zhe to temporarily block the drainage gate, then ordered Chen Lu and the five others.

”Hit the nearby drainage ditch with Ice Balls, freeze all the water in the ditch.”

Everyone looked puzzled at Yang Xiao.

”Our target is the mutated giant fish. Hitting the drainage ditch with Ice Balls, what kind of tactic is that? Is this some long-lost Mountain Crossing Punch? No, is it Mountain Crossing Fish Shot?”

Everyone questioned.

Yang Xiao suddenly exclaimed loudly:

”Why are you dawdling? Do as I say.”

Chen Lu no longer hesitated, releasing an Ice Ball into the drainage ditch next to her, and large chunks of ice formed instantly.

The others began to shoot Ice Balls too, and after more than ten minutes, all the water in the drainage ditch turned to ice.

”Alright, you can rest now. Xiao Zhe, get people to take out the ice and throw it directly into that pit.”

”What?”

Xiao Zhe and the others looked at Yang Xiao, baffled once again.

Yang Xiao didn’t explain, calling over Dai Yun, Feifei, and others.

Dai Yun jumped into the ditch, stood on the ice, and raised her sharp Wolf Claw to smash the thick ice block. A section of ice block immediately shattered into several chunks.

Feifei swung her Magic Hair, picking up a block of ice weighing dozens of pounds, quickly running to the pit afar. Twenty meters away from the pit, she flung the Magic Hair, and the huge ice block plunged into the pit, splashing water everywhere.

Xiao Zhe and the others hesitated no more, personally transforming into Werewolves, and started breaking the ice blocks. Ten or so people jumped into a twenty-meter-long drainage ditch. Twenty people stood by the ditch’s side, each moving an ice block, throwing it far into the pit.

In a short while, half of the ice blocks from the ditch were thrown into the distant pit, filling that small water pit.

”And then?”

Xu Hua stood beside Yang Xiao and asked.

Everyone looked at Yang Xiao, puzzled.

Yang Xiao smiled and said:

”Chen Lu, how far can you throw your Ice Ball now?”

”Boss, about 5 meters.”

”Okay,” Yang Xiao nodded, and continued:

”Everyone who just completed gene mutation and possesses Elemental Attack Ability, the farthest you can reach is only about 5 meters. But the mutated giant fish’s Bone Spur attack can range beyond 20 meters. We can’t possibly engage them at close range.”

”But these ice blocks?”

Xiao Zhe still asked, puzzled.

”These fish, although mutated, are still fish after all, needing air and water, and should have a range of temperature tolerance. Tilapia is a tropical fish, unbearably cold temperatures would make them very uncomfortable, possibly fatal. Half an hour later, these tilapia, even if not frozen to death, would likely lose their resistance.”

Hearing Yang Xiao’s explanation, everyone somewhat understood.

Tilapia is indeed an invasive species, only able to survive in the Southern part of Xuanming Country, where many die each winter. However, some tilapia, after several generations of reproduction, gradually adapted to a slightly colder climate. As long as it’s not too extremely cold, they generally manage.

The temperature here at Biyun Mountain is not too low. Even in winter, it rarely snows, and since the deepest part of this pond is about 10 meters, the bottom water remains warm, allowing these tilapia to survive.

Now, Yang Xiao directly brought the water in the pit to freezing, presumably making it difficult for these tilapia to adapt in the short term.

Half an hour later, some of the ice in the pit melted, and the ice almost filled the pit, like a huge refrigerator, emitting wisps of white mist in mid-air.

Everyone could see two giant fish’s backs exposed above the water, surrounded by cold ice, initially struggling but soon becoming motionless.

”Xu Hua, follow me!”

Yang Xiao said, holding the Golden Short Sword, rolling his pant legs, and walked towards the distant pit.
