Demon King: Hero, don’t run away!

What on earth was this man doing? Dancing carelessly in front of captives—was he taunting us?

Yes! He must have been taunting us!

Watching Yang Yu’s body move rhythmically, some Luo Ze soldiers felt offended.

They clung to the towering wooden fences, staring at Yang Yu, not with anger, but with a chuckle.

The day for prisoner exchange was approaching, and winter had ended as well.

Heh heh heh, once we get out, we must scatter your ashes within three days.

Not all Luo Ze soldiers harbored hatred towards Yang Yu.

Although many soldiers knew it was Yang Yu’s outstanding performance that led to many Luo Ze soldiers being captured, they hadn’t fought with Yang Yu themselves. Victory and defeat were common in military affairs; having been defeated, there was no need to bear a grudge against someone.

These soldiers just crowded around to jest and have some fun.

But when they heard strange music coming from the radio and saw Yang Yu’s odd dance moves, those rowdy soldiers suddenly felt as if a special magic power had hooked their souls.

They almost couldn’t control themselves and felt the urge to mimic Yang Yu’s movements and start dancing.

After one round, Yang Yu rewound the track, turned up the volume, and pressed play.

Instantly, countless cheerful musical notes flew into the ears of the Luo Ze captives like little birds.

Watching Yang Yu start that simple yet bewitching dance again, they truly couldn’t resist copying Yang Yu, joyfully jumping along with the music.

A few Luo Ze captives who hadn’t ”been enchanted” yelled, ”Don’t follow the dance!”, trying to prevent their fellows from succumbing.

Yet the more these Luo Ze captives got into the rhythm, the more vigorously they danced, unable to stop at all.

Due to saving face, those dancing Luo Ze captives couldn’t admit they were dancing uncontrollably—they kept dancing while desperately blaming it all on Yang Yu,

”It’s not that I want to dance; I just can’t control myself!

Ah! My dad just killed him~ oh~ oh~

It must be, this music and dance have some special magic power; yes, that must be the case.”

”You’re right! I feel the same way.

Hey—

Hey—

Baby—”

Another dancing soldier said this; he definitely wasn’t dancing because he wanted to, it must have been some sorcery used by that man.

Other Luo Ze captives seeing so many of them dancing together grew deeply suspicious; that man must have cast some sorcery. Ah, had I also been spellbound? I can’t control myself anymore.

Yang Yu’s music and dance spread like a plague in no time.

Only those who couldn’t hear the music or see Yang Yu’s dance moves were spared.

More and more unsuspecting Luo Ze captives joined the frenzy, like a young man who, after having repressed himself for a long time, passed by a square and heard irresistible music, unable to keep from dancing.

Do you think the dance aunties in the square know what’s trendy?

Wrong, all they wanted was the joyfully lively rhythm.

Whoever could create the rhythm that truly captivates those dance aunties would set the trend.

Although the prison camp granted certain freedoms to the captives from the Luo Ze Empire, they were still in a foreign land, and repression was inevitable.

How could they resist such joyful, spirited music?

These Luo Ze captives picked up the joyful times they had before joining the army and indulged in them.

He stopped dancing, and Yang Yu switched off the radio.

With the abrupt end of the music, the dancing Luoze soldiers also ceased their movements, feeling an indescribable emptiness inside.

The lively and rhythmic sound lingered in their ears, and Yang Yu’s dancing figure was deeply imprinted in their hearts.

These things would soon repeatedly appear before their eyes and keep them awake through the night.

This was the power of music.

After putting away the radio, Yang Yu turned back and smiled at all the Luoze captives watching him.

That smile pierced through the defenses of many Luoze soldiers in an instant.

Such a confident smile...

What other secrets was this man hiding? What did his face look like behind the mask? What was his true strength?

The Luoze captives couldn’t help but develop a strong interest in Yang Yu.

As soon as Yang Yu returned to his group, Iyas tiptoed over to him and asked in a low voice,

”What was the meaning of that dance just now? Do you really have the ability to tame those humans?”

Yang Yu chuckled and countered, ”What do you think?”

Iyas looked toward the Luoze captives not far away, who were divided into two groups, each looking at Yang Yu with different expressions—half with love, half with hate.

Whether these Luoze captives had seen Yang Yu before or not, they were all left with a deep impression of him this time.

If they returned to the Luoze Empire, they would definitely, deliberately or unintentionally, tell others about today’s events...

Thinking of this, Iyas realized the significance of Yang Yu’s actions: it was to expand his influence within the army of the Luoze Empire.

However, what Yang Yu intended to do after expanding his influence, Iyas did not know...

Well, she should try to analyze his thoughts the way he did.

If she didn’t know now, she would definitely find out in the future.

At that time, she would see how much her thoughts differed from his.

Iyas did not dwell on the meaning behind Yang Yu’s actions and followed him as they looked toward several Beastmen who had heard the news and were approaching from the city gate.

”What’s all this commotion about? Are you guys behind this?”

The speaker was a small panda Beastman dragging a nine-ring tail, not tall, very quiet, dressed in the gold-orange official robe of Wansheng Country.

He was the head official of Little Night City and also one of the ministers responsible for the prisoner exchange, named Qing Zhu.

He had been engaged in a heated discussion with other members of the Envoy Team about the recently acquired list of Wansheng Country prisoners when the report of the abnormality in the prisoner camp reached him.

Consequently, Qing Zhu had no choice but to put the meeting on hold and head out to investigate.

Before even reaching the city gate, Qing Zhu could hear the extremely lively beats and the uniform stomping.

It was a noise that suggested the involvement of at least hundreds of people.

This was under the very nose of the giant dragon, where gatherings of even dozens were considered large-scale commotions, let alone hundreds.

Twirling his shiny black eyes, Qing Zhu sized up Yang Yu from top to bottom.

According to the reports he had received, it was indeed this man before him who had caused the chaos.

At first glance, Qing Zhu thought Yang Yu looked somewhat familiar. After scrutinizing him further, he realized that this man was precisely the one described by Minister Ming Dalak.

Yang Yu was exactly like he had imagined. Drawing closer for a sniff, Yang Yu did indeed have the scent of a human.

”Are you the Mr. Potato Thorn who Minister Ming Dalak has high hopes for?”
