Demon King: Hero, don’t run away!

Chapter 671: Chapter 671 Choices

Lux year 415, February 14.

During the several days of rest in the camp, the fragmented Central Forces, the aid troops from West Fifth Army, and those from East Second Army were reorganized into the Plain Attack Force.

Depending on different attacking needs, Ajiket picked Beastmen who were skilled in various aspects from each of the teams to form a special attack squad, facilitating tactical adjustments at any moment.

Many members of Yang Yu’s troops were also pulled away, forcing them to undergo a small scale reorganization and incorporating soldiers from various other troops.

The first thing Yang Yu had to do was, of course, to educate these new soldiers and augment their Experience Bar.

Now leveling up required hundreds of thousands of Experience, and the progress had completely slowed down.

The Experience of ordinary soldiers was barely enough to fill the gaps between teeth, but Yang Yu tirelessly enjoyed this.

When facing ordinary soldiers, Yang Yu’s attacks were no longer scraping by; beating… no, tapping these soldiers was just a matter of convenience.

This not only established his authority but also brought him closer to the troops, building a good reputation for himself, why not enjoy it?

During the rest period, Yang Yu also spent a long time pondering and ultimately gave up persuading Ajiket to launch the attack earlier.

The enormous Strength of Snowmen was still vivid in Yang Yu’s mind.

Unable to use Fire Magic, Bai Jin or other Beastman Mages would also have a hard time restraining several Snowmen in a short time and taking them down.

Moreover, the tough-bodied Snowmen also possessed the Special Skill “Heavenly God’s Descent.”

Even if Beastman Magicians’ Magic could penetrate the Magic Defense constructed by the Luo Ze Empire, Snowmen who activated “Heavenly God’s Descent” were also unafraid of Magic.

Inside the tent, Yang Yu thought through many methods but ultimately couldn’t come up with any good ways to cope with Snowmen.

Even if there were a few methods that could barely restrain the Snowmen, the Beastmen side would inevitably suffer heavy casualties, significantly damaging their combat power and affecting the future of the war.

Afterwards, they might not be able to withstand even a few attacks from the Luo Ze Empire’s spring and summer offensive, easily yielding control of Benliang City which was hard won.

Time passed bit by bit.

On the Task, the special condition “Giant Slayer” turned into a dim gray font, indicating that the conditions for its completion had vanished, never to be achieved again.

As for the second special condition “Thunderbolt,” taking down Benliang City within two days was also very difficult.

After tense deliberations, Ajiket and other Generals determined the strategy period to be just one week.

If nothing substantial was achieved within a week, they could only switch to defending their other victorious fruits.

Ajiket himself had no confidence, showing how grave the difficulty was—they could only do their best.

Exiting the tent, piece after piece of snowflakes drifted down from the white-gray sky, layering the bulged tents with a blanket of snow.

By this date in previous years, it was already time for the last snowfall, and this year was likely no exception.

Just as he stepped out of the tent, Yang Yu saw a short Messenger Soldier rushing towards him.

“General Tu Dou, General Dongmu has ordered you to gather your troops at the front of the camp, preparing to head to Benliang City.”

“I understand.”

Yang Yu responded, and the little Messenger Soldier passed in front of him, delivering orders to the next officer.

Stepping on the white snow, Yang Yu gathered his troops.

Due to the large size of the wolves transformed by the Silver Teeth Clan, they had also been formed into a special troop to deal with any remaining Snowmen.

They could also carry out the task of transporting elite troops up the city walls.

As for the elite scaling team within the troops, naturally, it was the Stripe Guardian Clan.

The Stripe Guardian Clan, being originally part of the West Fifth Army they brought, was naturally placed under Dongmu’s command.

Thus, Dongmu also took on the tasks of the frontal battlefield, such as the Siege, Melee fight, restraining unexpected enemies, and more.

Yang Yu’s troops had no specific tasks.

Thanks to their previously outstanding performance, Dongmu placed Yang Yu directly under his command as an all-purpose troop, facilitating immediate tactical adjustments.

“Haha, it has finally come to this day.”

Yang Yu had just lined up his troops when General Dongmu approached with a hearty laugh, clapping him on the back,

“These past days, have you thought of any good strategies? If you have, and it’s feasible, don’t hesitate to tell me, I’ll take you to meet Ajiket.”

Yang Yu honestly shared his thoughts,

“General Dongmu, the difficulty of this siege far exceeds our expectations.

We have little useful intelligence, and I haven’t been able to come up with a very good strategy.

If it weren’t for the Snowmen, we might have had an opportunity to try something.”

“If you say so, it really must be tough. Snowmen are indeed a major problem.”

Dongmu raised his furry arm to his chin,

“But, there’s no need to worry that much.

A few days ago, Minister Ming Dalak contacted us and said that he would send us a new type of troops.

If they arrive, things should be easier for us.

There’s no need to worry about their warmth either, as they are also a sub race of the beastmen.

We will find out exactly which race they are by the day after tomorrow.”

More reinforcements?

I recall Lotcar mentioning that after Kai Bu came into power, he began to heavily support sending warriors of the Silver Teeth Clan to battlefields.

Among them were many of Lotcar’s allies, potentially for purging rivals.

But aside from those close to Lotcar, there were also many ordinary members of the Silver Teeth Clan.

Is it a diversion? Or is there another hidden reason?

It’s hard to determine.

Yang Yu also sought out members of the Silver Teeth Clan to understand the situation in Benliang City.

Having helped Lotcar considerably, the Silver Teeth Clan shared everything they had experienced with Yang Yu without reservation.

This included their experiences before officially entering the battle.

Soldiers from special races and many new beastman recruits trained in a mountainous forest.

The area gathered many races with different abilities, each instructor being extremely strict yet very aware of each race’s strengths, mastering ways to enhance them.

Many instructors were black-haired elves who also carried a human scent, though not as strongly as Yang Yu and Bai Jin.

Furthermore, normal elves specialized in healing the wounded soldiers during training were also seen.

Apart from the Elf Forest, there were still many elves elsewhere, a point that deserved further investigation.

But for now, Yang Yu had to focus on the war at hand.

“Didn’t you receive some help when you captured East View City last time?

If that happens again, maybe we could find a breakthrough.”

Saying this, Dongmu flashed a set of bright white teeth, looking optimistic.

Equally optimistic was the Blood Lion Wanluo, who despite being recently affected by Yang Yu’s words, maintained his confidence.

This was all for his and his family’s future.

Following this, Wanluo even asked Dou Shi to transfer him from the defensive unit to the frontline.

Riding a giant bear past Yang Yu’s troops, Wanluo smirked, ignoring Yang Yu and organizing his assigned squad.

Before long, each general had rallied their troops, and under Ajiket’s command, they once again advanced toward Benliang City.
